Chapter 474: Chapter 240: Pillar Cat Strikes

"It cracked?"

"It cracked."

"You saw it with your own eyes?"

"Heh, I didn’t dare. I’m not like Mo Kuang, reckless enough to do anything."

Listening to their conversation, Mo Kuang, who was lying in bed, began to cry sorrowful tears.

And that was the situation.

Zheng Xiu thought for a moment, then started a group chat.

The "Eternal World Painting" he had personally drawn was incredibly powerful. Every former member of Ye Weiyang who joined the Disaster Prevention Bureau would, upon their arrival, be stunned by the Painting’s functions for days on end.

The reason was simple: compared to the old "Raven" system, the Eternal World Painting was just so much better to use.

The mirror surface changed again, and the faces of Bi Shui and Situ Yong materialized upon it.

Incidentally, before joining Ye Weiyang, Bi Shui had been known as "the village idiot." She had no name, and everyone just called her "Silly Girl." But after her spiritual senses awakened, her talents were recognized, and she was invited to join Ye Weiyang. To her, "Bi Shui" wasn’t just a codename; it felt more like her real name, so she continued to use it even after joining the Disaster Prevention Bureau.

Zheng Xiu posted in the chat: Someone went to a Five Passes Temple, foolishly paid their respects, and ended up with a huge belly. What do we do now?

The Red King, waiting online. It’s urgent.

Situ Yong’s eyes flew open. His beard bristled as he waved his hands in exasperation. "I am no midwife! You need to find a midwife for something like this! Prince, I am a ’Physician.’ If you bring me every little thing, you’ll be breaking my ’rules’! I know nothing about delivering babies! I must ask you to find someone more qualified!"

The subtext was clear: he didn’t want to do it.

Bi Shui remained silent, her brow furrowed in thought.

Just as Situ Yong was about to disconnect, the Red King added with a faint smile, "He’s a man."

Situ Yong’s expression froze in astonishment.

A look of dawning comprehension crossed Bi Shui’s face. "It couldn’t be Dou Xie... No, Mo Kuang?"

Zheng Xiu was intrigued. "How did you know?"

Bi Shui covered her mouth with her hand, smiling. "A little while ago, I was at the Disaster Prevention Bureau headquarters on business and happened to see Jun Buxiao approach Mo Kuang for a mission to investigate some strange temple. Mo Kuang... agreed very quickly. I wanted to give him a little warning. After all, Jun Buxiao has always been a lone wolf, close only to Gu Qiutang. Any case that would make him proactively seek help from someone else is bound to be trouble. But that kid just said I was being a busybody. Heh."

Once the initial shock of a "pregnant man" wore off, Zheng Xiu calmed down and found the situation rather amusing. Since Bi Shui knew the backstory, things would be easier. He asked her if she had any ideas.

Bi Shui laughed. "Well, he’ll have to come back first. Through the Prince’s ’Eternal World Painting’... GIGGLE... there’s nothing I can do."

"Now this is a problem," Xi’er said with a frown. "The kid’s belly is too big. He can’t move."

HEH HEH HEH—

Just then, a harsh, grating sound echoed through the group chat.

Looking closer, they realized Situ Yong was sharpening a knife.

Jun Buxiao: "Sharpening a knife?"

Zheng Xiu: "Sharpening a knife?"

Mo Kuang: "Sharpening a knife????"

Bi Shui’s eyes lit up in realization, and she nodded. "Sharpening a knife!" She understood.

Zheng Xiu asked, "Hey, Elder Divine Doctor, didn’t you just say you knew nothing about this?"

"I don’t know a thing! But the sea of knowledge is boundless. As a ’Physician,’ how can I shrink from a rare and difficult case? I must make myself knowledgeable, yes, make myself knowledgeable." Situ Yong grinned as he continued to sharpen his blade. "Besides, I believe in Medical Compassion! How could I possibly see someone in peril and not offer aid!"

With that, he set the "Eternal World Painting" aside. He was unaware, however, that the group chat was still connected. His muttering, mingled with the scraping of his knife, reached the ears of everyone in the chat:

’This is such a rare case! A Yin-Yang Reversal, a pregnant man! Hahaha! If I can cure this, my skills will surely reach a new height! The heart of Medical Compassion lies in the "Medical" part! If I don’t treat it, don’t at least try, how can I call myself righteous? How can I sacrifice for the greater good?! Ever since I glimpsed the Path, this exquisite "bone-scraping and flesh-cutting" magic of mine has gone to waste for years. Now, old friend, oh, my old friend, you can finally see the light of day again! Heh heh heh...’

Situ Yong’s final laugh was both sinister and ecstatic.

’He wants to give Mo Kuang a... a C-section?’

Zheng Xiu guessed Situ Yong’s intention. From Xi’er’s Eternal World Painting, Mo Kuang’s hoarse screams of "No! No!" echoed through the chat. Hearing this, Zheng Xiu’s reaction was swift. His finger tapped lightly on the mirror surface.

[Ding! Living Dead Situ Yong has been removed from the group chat.]

Zheng Xiu, Xi’er, Jun Buxiao, and Bi Shui all shuddered in unison.

They hadn’t been very familiar with Situ Yong before, never realizing he was this kind of "Divine Doctor."

Mo Kuang’s frantic cries of "No! No!" were becoming deafening. Jun Buxiao waved a pair of scissors, snipped off Mo Kuang’s shadow, and crumpled it into a ball like a piece of scrap paper. When he smoothed the shadow back out, its mouth was gone. On the bed, the feminized Mo Kuang, looking for all the world like he was about to give birth, could only let out soft whimpers.

[Ding! Bi Shui has left the group chat.]

"This case... what are your thoughts?"

Zheng Xiu started going through the official procedure.

Xi’er and Jun Buxiao answered in unison, "Level B at minimum. Level A to be determined."

They had clearly already discussed this.

Using the Disaster Prevention Bureau’s rating system, the case’s difficulty was clearly well beyond Level B. Both of them were from the Dawn Department’s elite Seven, and they found the situation intractable. Jun Buxiao was even the former Upper Four of Ye Weiyang; rating a case that even he couldn’t handle as merely Level B was clearly an understatement.

However, Level A cases had specific criteria: the involvement of a Mystic, a Ghostly Realm, a Deceitful Object, or a Zhu. They couldn’t confirm any of these elements, so after some discussion, they settled on the inaccurate rating.

"I understand. Don’t do anything rash. Just keep an eye on Mo Kuang and wait for my instructions."

Hearing this, an inexplicable excitement spread across Xi’er’s face. "Is the Pillar Phoenix going to make a move?"

She recalled her past experiences working on cases with Feng Bei. It felt like so much had happened in the blink of an eye, and she found herself feeling nostalgic for the days when she worked alongside a Mystic.
