I'm Afraid I Won't Be Able to Leave
Chapter 214: Third Brother, You’re So Amazing
Chapter 214: Chapter 214: Third Brother, You’re So Amazing
"Do you come here often?" Leah Sinclair asked, noticing Sheila Hughes seemed to know this place inside and out.
"Not really," Sheila Hughes said, her eyes fixed on the track in excitement. "Ethan Shaw used to come sometimes, and your Third Master Keating drops by occasionally, too. He’s drop-dead gorgeous!"
Leah Sinclair had already asked Asher Keating, so she knew he occasionally came for a few laps. She couldn’t quite picture Asher in a racing suit, driving a race car, and was incredibly excited to see it.
"Leah." Liam Peyton came out, having changed his clothes. He smiled and walked over to greet her as soon as he saw her.
"Wynn, is Phoebe here yet?"
Leah Sinclair looked at Liam Peyton. He was usually so gentle and refined, but today, in a black-and-white racing suit, he possessed a different kind of handsome charm.
"She’s at the entrance now."
Just as he said that, they saw Phoebe Peyton walk in. Today, she wore an elegant, white halter-neck maxi dress. Her voluminous waves were draped casually over her shoulders, creating a look that was both gentle and languid, drawing everyone’s eyes.
"Don’t tell me that’s the Miss Peyton you were talking about?" Sheila Hughes asked, her eyes wide with awe.
"Yep. Isn’t she gorgeous?"
Leah Sinclair genuinely thought Phoebe Peyton was one of the top three most beautiful women she had ever seen. The most beautiful, of course, was Mabel Grant.
"Liam. Leah Grant." Phoebe Peyton greeted them with a smile as she approached.
Leah Sinclair quickly introduced Sheila Hughes. In the middle of their conversation, Asher Keating emerged from the changing room, and Leah couldn’t tear her eyes away.
The black-and-white racing suit on Asher Keating’s tall, powerful frame made him look completely different. He had a roguish air, an unrestrained, flamboyant confidence.
Seeing Leah’s expression, Sheila Hughes chuckled. "Stunning, right? The first time I saw Third Master Keating in this, I swear, I was completely mesmerized."
"Mesmerized by what?! So, Third Master Keating is handsome, but I’m not?" Ethan Shaw suddenly popped up behind Sheila Hughes, making her jump.
"Yes, yes, yes! You’re handsome! The most handsome!"
Sheila Hughes playfully punched his arm. "You big baby." Ethan Shaw just pulled her close, and the two of them went right back to being all lovey-dovey.
Asher Keating laughed at Leah’s expression and pinched her cheek. "Wipe your drool."
His laugh only made him seem more audacious. Leah felt a faint blush creep onto her face. "Third Master Keating, how can you be so handsome?"
Someone called for the drivers to head down to the infield. Asher Keating ruffled Leah’s hair before following Ethan Shaw and the others. Leah’s eyes tracked him the entire way, watching until he got into a black car.
Once all the drivers were ready, an official began to lead the cars to the starting line. As the referee’s flag dropped, the roar of engines thundered through the sky, and the crowd in the stands erupted in excited cheers.
Leah gripped the railing, her eyes glued to the track in excitement. Phoebe Peyton, smiling beside her, turned and asked, "Is this your first time watching Asher race?"
"Yes. I never saw him do this before I went abroad."
Leah’s eyes were glued to Asher Keating’s car, not blinking for a second. She felt like her heart was about to leap out of her throat.
"Oh? Asher was really into this when he was abroad. I guess he just never told you."
Phoebe Peyton’s voice was drowned out by the chaotic roar of the crowd. Leah couldn’t hear her clearly and turned back to ask her what she’d said.
"It was nothing. I just said they’re all very skilled," Phoebe Peyton said with a smile, turning her gaze back to the track.
The race continued on the track, cars jostling for position, none willing to yield. Asher Keating’s car was the first to navigate a turn, and the crowd erupted in a fervent scream. A white car followed close behind him; Leah thought she remembered it being Liam Peyton’s.
The two of them left the rest of the pack behind. Asher’s car had a slight lead, with Liam right on his tail, searching for an opening to overtake. But Asher held his position firmly, not giving him an inch.
On a stretch of consecutive turns, Asher’s car drifted through each one, its tires screeching against the asphalt. At the final turn, he executed a beautiful fishtail, immediately corrected his course, and gunned it for the finish line. Liam’s car was hot on his heels, but he was still just a bit behind.
The black car shot past the finish line, with the white car crossing right after. The stands fell silent for a second before exploding in a tempest of cheers and screams that engulfed the entire racetrack.
Asher Keating climbed out of his car, followed by Liam Peyton. The two men gave each other a fist bump.
"A good race, President Peyton."
"You were better, President Keating."
Both men laughed, their expressions wild and unrestrained, completely shedding their usual composed, elegant demeanors. The other cars began to cross the finish line. Ethan Shaw rushed over and threw his arms around Asher. "Third Master! You were so damn cool!"
Shawn Grant gave Liam Peyton a friendly punch on the arm. "Not bad, Wynn! You’ve been practicing on the sly, huh?"
The whole group burst into laughter. Asher Keating looked up toward Leah. Her hands were cupped around her mouth as she yelled something, waving frantically at him.
He was too far away to see her expression clearly, but he could easily imagine how excited she was. A smile played on his lips as he waved back.
"AHHHH! Third Master Keating is killing me! How is he so amazing?"
Sheila Hughes grabbed Leah’s shoulders and screamed wildly. She’d been yelling so hard her voice was already a little hoarse.
"Hahaha, of course! My Third Master Keating is amazing at everything!" Leah was beaming, her eyes shining like they were full of stars.
"Let’s go, let’s go! To the locker room to find them!" Sheila Hughes grabbed Leah and rushed off.
"Phoebe, are you coming with us?"
Leah pulled Sheila to a stop and quickly asked Phoebe. If they just left, Phoebe wouldn’t know anyone else there. Leah was a little worried. She was so beautiful that Leah was afraid strangers might try to hit on her.
Phoebe Peyton unclenched the fist she had been holding tight and replied with a smile, "Okay. I’m just going to pop into the restroom first."
Shawn Grant and the others had gone back for a few more laps and hadn’t returned yet. Outside the locker room door, Ethan Shaw whisked Sheila away. He told Leah that Asher was in the locker room further inside, so she went in.
When she reached the locker room at the very back, she saw someone sitting on a bench. Giddy with excitement, she threw her arms around his neck, shouting, "Third Master Keating, you were incredible!"
The man she was hugging stiffened for a moment. His voice held a hint of amusement, mixed with a touch of resignation. "Leah, it’s me."
Leah instantly sprang back. Only then did she realize it was Liam Peyton. He was wearing the same style of racing suit as Asher, and because he was sitting down, she hadn’t noticed his height. Her face flushed with embarrassment. "I’m so sorry, Wynn! I-I thought you were Third Master Keating."
"He went in through the other door," Liam Peyton said with a smile, continuing to untie his shoes.
"Oh, okay. I’ll go find him then. Sorry again, Wynn."
Blushing, Leah backed out of the room. There were indeed two doors; she just hadn’t paid attention when she came in.
By the time she got to the entrance, Asher Keating was walking out from the other side, with Phoebe Peyton right behind him. Leah froze. Asher had already walked up to her. "Got lost?"
