Chapter 166: Conference Attacked!

______________________________________________________________________

- Othinus -

She held one of the demons of this universe in a chokehold as she instantly analyzed it. She could do it from a distance as well, but what was it her Master said? Ah yes, it was "aura farming", as he called it.

This way she would look cool to her Master!

The demon itself had no ego, and was similar to the Lesser Daemons from the Cardinal World, and some of the Greater Daemons as well.

So far while they had been in this dimension, they had mostly just been exploring. They came across a few intelligent demons, and had even ventured into a city, but she quickly got bored.

Despite her initial hopes, there was nothing of interest here. Sure, the demons were structurally interesting, but nothing more than that. There was no special property to this dimension either. Souls did not even get funneled here, so these demons were truly only demons in name as all souls were directly funneled to the Sea of the Afterlife.

It was likely more accurate to just classify these demons as Majins rather than anything else due to the sheer variety there were. There was a variety of Daemons as well, but at their core Daemons were Daemons and nothing else. The same could not be said for the demons of this dimension.

She looked to her Master who was looking at her with a fond and relaxed smile as she threw the demon away. She blushed and looked away. The look on his face was too much for her!

So far this date had been everything she desired and more. Though she wouldn’t deny the absolute terror she felt at what her Master insinuated earlier.

As a being, she never wanted to be apart from her Master in any way, shape, or form. The mere thought of that alone when her Master brought it up terrified her to no end. The fear she felt was approaching the level of fear she felt when imagining her Master’s death.

So no, she refused to ever be separated from him.

Other than that, the date went excellently. She could tell that her Master had come to a realization of sorts, though she didn’t pry. Just because she resided within his soul, did not mean her Master was not afforded his own privacy.

She enjoyed being able to perceive the world from a slightly more normal point of view, but she preferred her existence as a Manas rather than piloting this flesh body.

That way she could be fully within her Master!

When she first suggested going on a date with her Master, she was afraid of rejection, which was rather absurd. She was one of the most knowledgeable and powerful beings in existence. If she wanted, she could single handedly defeat True Dragons, and yet she was scared of such a simple thing.

That went to show just how weak she was to her Master, though it made her happy that he was also weak to her.

She was self-aware enough to know that she was jealous of the women in her Master’s life, despite her involvement in pushing him into their arms, such as with Luminous. And while she still stood by her actions, she wanted to be close to her Master in that way too. Essentially, she wanted something that she didn’t possess.

Perhaps it was her own superiority complex showing. She was a Manas. She was superior to almost all beings in existence, being surpassed by her Master’s other lovers was something she wouldn’t tolerate for long, and so she desired this date to set the starting ground for that vision she had. Sure, her Master may have been the one who asked, but they were connected on an intrinsic level. He knew what she wanted so he asked.

It was only right either way. She was the first being to accompany him. She may have been born from a mere spark of desire, a spark of loneliness and hopelessness, but she had grown far beyond that, even pushing beyond what she should have been capable of. Cannibalizing other Skills and their data, even replacing parts of herself for added improvement, all so that she could be the best partner to her Master.

For her Master, she was willing to do anything. And despite the fact that she would remain loyal to him no matter what, it still made her exceedingly happy that he held similar loyalty to her.

It truly was rather odd how emotions worked. She was still struggling to fully understand them as a being who originally lacked emotions.

Such as the emotions she felt when she learned her Master found the body she created attractive. She did model it somewhat after his own desires, as it was meant solely for him to use and see her in, but the very "name" of Othinus had imprinted into her with the image her Master had of the name Othinus, and so the physical form she identified with was extremely close to that of the Othinus from To Aru.

Truly, emotions were rather wondrous. The spike of absolute glee and adoration she felt when her Master’s eyes roamed over her form was exhilarating.

"Have you found anything interesting here?" Her Master asked.

She shook her head.

"Hmm, neither have I. Well, it seems this dimension is a bit of a dud."

There were some artifacts and whatnot they were able to find in one of the cities, but they were nothing special.

Indeed, as her Master had said, this dimension was a dud, but that was fine. She mostly just wished to extend their date and accompany him for longer, though she was beginning to feel a bit antsy inside due to being separate from her Master for such a long period of time.

She was aware that objectively it was no time at all, her core hadn’t even left his soul, and she was technically eons old due to Thought Acceleration, but it still felt like an eternity to her.

"Sorry we couldn’t enjoy things as much here." Her Master apologized.

"There is no need to apologize. I merely wished to satisfy my own curiosity, and it has been satisfied."

Now she couldn’t think of many things in this universe that were of interest to her, but her Master had ordered to relax in this universe, so until they returned to the Cardinal World, she would obey that order and not conduct any in depth analysis. Although she still continued the operations she was in the middle of such as Veldanava’s memories and analyzing the mysterious phenomenon in Infinity Space.

"If you do not mind, I wish to return to the comfort of your soul now, Master." She stated as she turned to her Master.

She was aware that her Master was a lewd beast, and she was more than open to being intimate with him in a more physical and spiritual sense. In fact, she was down right eager for it, as it was another thing she would show she was superior at, but she could tell he was mentally processing some things, and that now wasn’t the time to make her advances in that direction.

Her Master raised a brow in her direction. "If you want." He smiled.

Before she merged this Parallel Existence back into her Master’s body, she first approached him with confidence.

She did still wish to show her affection in a way that her Master would easily recognize. It was a way to set the bar straight.

Before her Master could so much as tilt his head in question, Othinus moved. She rose onto her toes, her golden eyes glimmering with mischief and devotion, and pressed her lips softly against his. Her Master’s eyes widened, he could easily react, but he chose not to.

The contact was brief, but the shock it spread through her was anything but.

For the briefest moment, she felt like her entire world had frozen. Her core felt like it was practically about to explode, even if it wasn’t (she checked).

She pulled back before he could even react, before he could open his mouth to tease her. Her lips curved into a small, satisfied smile, though her heart, if such a thing could be said to exist for her, thrummed with uncontrollable emotions.

She was beginning to understand why her Master’s lovers were always so needy for kisses.

Her body dissolved into light and her entire essence returned to its proper place, within her Master.

If she had a heart, she was certain it would be racing.

- Felix -

"I believe that many will either attempt to discredit you, or make use of you in some way, shape, or form." Adam said as he guided me towards the back area of the place the conference was going to be hosted.

It was the third and final day of the conference now, and thus the only day I would actually be attending.

I was still slightly reeling from my date with Othinus yesterday. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and it certainly felt like there was a change in my relationship with Othinus due to it. Nothing bad, of course. We still acted the same way, but things were different.

I was still thinking through some things, like how my own influence may have been what caused Othinus to feel the way she does, and a part of me did feel bad about it. She was one of the closest people to me and had helped me through thick and thin. It was a tragedy that she wasn’t even given the privilege to form feelings on her own influence.

I was aware that I was overthinking things, but it was sort of a character trait of mine.

That didn’t take away from the fact that I enjoyed the date. I just needed to get over my own issues which required a little time.

"That’s fine. I’ll deal with it when it comes up."

Rimuru had mentioned that the same thing happened to him, but once he showed his fangs a bit more, people were far more cooperative and stopped trying to take advantage of him.

In the end, he managed to get pretty much everything he wanted from this world, at least deal wise. He even gave China two new Unique Grade short swords for Liu Zhigang at an exorbitant price. Not gold or money, since Rimuru had no need for that, but instead other things of value that China possessed.

It had already been more than a few days since Rimuru, Veldora, and Ramiris were in this world, so they went back after Rimuru got everything he wanted in his trades, as by the point The Dungeon was pretty much running on fumes.

I told Rimuru that on the next trip we went on, I’d make it so that he could return back to the moment he left, but with the world’s time streams being in sync due to Planeswalker shenanigans. Othinus had got loads of data on how Time worked and the connections between worlds.

So right now it was just me, Milim, Gaia, Megumin, and Lalatina.

Apparently, the Ruler vessels had a meeting yesterday that they kept me updated about in which they came up with a game plan for if the Monarchs take the bait and decide now is a good time to attack.

Essentially, they had established a buddy system, as if they were all grouped together, the Monarchs likely wouldn’t take the bait with their current numbers. They were using magic artifacts that allowed them to keep in constant contact with the other groups so that they could come to the others’ rescue immediately.

The plan the Rulers made was essentially meant to lure the Monarchs in and pick off a couple of them, all while not losing any of their number. The Rulers had been on the backfoot this entire war essentially, so they wanted to strike back it seems. And Lucian’s increase in power seemed to give them a confidence boost.

Either way, I was just going along for the ride. Though Lalatina had expressed interest in fighting the Monarch of Plagues. She said that she was interested in seeing how the Monarch of Plagues made use of her poison, so if that Monarch would be showing up, Lalatina would handle her.

So the vessels/Rulers only had to handle Antares and the Iron Body Monarch, which shouldn’t be difficult.

I think it was fair to say that the Rulers’ victory was practically assured at this point, though that was probably a given with me on their side. I think I more than made up for probably luring the Phantoms to this world.

Adam eventually left us alone saying that I was free to do what I wished, and that he’d call for me when it was my turn to say my part.

I mostly just planned to give the humans a kick on the ass to get them to take these things a bit more seriously. They were seriously infighting in a life or death situation, or at least this would be a life or death situation if I wasn’t here.

It was almost insane how little they seemed to care for their planet’s continued existence.

The five of us mostly just went around to look at the various stalls set up since this was as much a marketing event as it was a global meeting for all the relevant powers.

Overall, there was nothing that interesting other than the good food.

Eventually, one of the main portions of the conference began and it was my time to shine. Unlike in canon, Jin-Woo’s dad was not the main topic of the conference, but a sub topic that was already discussed yesterday. He was even here to meet with Jin-Woo since he had to meet with the other vessels anyway.

He left to go stay hidden though as it was best if the Monarchs had no idea where he was, as he would be the quickest to respond to the other vessels’ calls for help.

I walked up to the podium as I was being introduced.

"Now it is my great honor to introduce Felix White!" Adam said. He thought that leaving out the whole Demon Lord title would be for the best, and he was probably right.

There was no round of applause for me minus a couple of people, which was rude.

I scanned the people that were seated in front of me. There were hundreds of people; some influential Hunters, others influential politicians.

"Sup, as Adam said, I’m Felix. The reason I told Adam to give me a slot at this conference is pretty simple."

I could tell that I had their attention immediately, some seemed a bit miffed that I didn’t follow decorum or anything and just went straight to the point, but they were in the minority. Most of the people here were likely used to dealing with unique personalities.

"You all still have your head up your asses, despite the rather poor situation you’re all in."

Some random person stood up with a face of outrage, but before he could speak I pointed at him. "No, shut up. I’m speaking here." He tried to open his mouth but no sound came out, and so I continued. Though I did notice something interesting about this one that I’d deal with later. I was surprised he managed to slip through.

"I’m sure all of you watched the broadcast in which I made my first appearance in this world. The Monarchs blatantly explained many of their goals to you unknowingly, and yet practically none of you took anything seriously. Instead, you opted to send a National Hunter after me, who by the way failed." I said, referring to Zhigang. They may have thought they were being sneaky, but not much could hide from my sight.

"My pal Rimuru came by this conference the last few days since I couldn’t be bothered, and he should have given you quite a lot of useful schematics to create some rather useful weapons out of the magical resources you possess. That should give you something to at least survive in case of an all out attack in which the legions of monsters the Monarchs have under them attack."

I spotted the same guy who stood up to yell at me, raising his hand this time, though he had an angry expression on his face. It was amusing, so I unsilenced him and allowed him to speak.

"Demon Lord Felix." He said sternly. "While what you have said here has been rather... enlightening, I do believe you have left something out."

I raised a brow, amused as I could see where this was going. "And that is?"

The man smiled. "How are we supposed to take anything you say at face value? You appeared at the same time as these so-called Monarchs. How are we to know whether you are having us prepare against a false enemy, only to attack us from the back?"

I could see that many were looking at each other, and I could sense the hesitance in most of the people here excluding the National Hunters. Those guys actually came up to me earlier as they had learned what I wanted to talk about, and offered to help explain things as their reputation in this case would help people trust me.

Of course, I rejected. I wasn’t one to share the stage like that.

I took a step forward and appeared in front of the man. "That’s a good point, but you would probably be taken more seriously if you weren’t one of them." I said as I gripped him by the neck.

Everyone jumped and shouted in panic around me, but I ignored all of them. Some Hunters even tried to attack me, which was respectable but everything they attempted got stuck in my Infinity.

With my free hand I reached into the Spiritual Body of the man, and yanked out another being that was possessing the body.

I gently set the body down. The original man was dead at this point, there was no need to throw his body around rudely. I took another step forward and appeared back on the podium as the Phantom in my grip struggled against me, but it was losing power quickly.

It needed a body to properly stay in this world, and it was too weak to last for long. But it did seem to have an impressive ability to conceal itself. "This here is a Phantom. It’s working with the Monarchs. If you want to take his words seriously, then by all means do. Just know what exactly you are trusting."

Unlike a normal individual’s Spiritual Body, the Phantom’s was foggy and lacked a solid form, likely due to its still weak ego. It was leeching and integrating the ego of the man it was possessing, but it wasn’t quite complete yet.

"He is speaking the truth." Liu Zhigang said as he stood up and attempted to calm everyone down.

I crushed the Phantom before continuing as everyone took their seats again, though they were all still shaken up.

"That was a Phantom for those of you wondering. They like to possess people and cause chaos from the inside of opposing factions."

Most of that was just an educated guess on my part, but that didn’t matter here and now.

"Now, I’m going to tell you what you’re up against, and you’re going to listen. What you do after that point is up to you. If this planet blows up because you can’t be bothered... well that won’t affect me." I said with a shrug.

It seriously pissed me off when people were just being stupid for no reason. Who cared about political power when in a couple of weeks there was potentially a chance that your planet wouldn’t exist?

The only reason I was putting as much effort into this as I was, one, because Hinata requested that I do at least this much; give the Humans a chance to organize more and fight together, even if they wouldn’t really be fighting anything if all goes according to plan.

The other reason was because I’m pretty sure that eventually these people are going to have to fight for themselves. Using this period of time as reference may just be helpful for them in the future when I’m not here.

I went on to tell the group of influential humans all about the Monarchs and what they were up against, and they took me at face value this time, likely because the National Hunters present expressed their agreement with me. I suppose that was their way of putting their backing behind me, and even if unneeded, it did make things go by a lot quicker, which was nice.

I didn’t give away any artifacts or anything like I initially planned to since Rimuru took care of that for me.

As I walked off the stage, I considered if I really had to do anything else, and I arrived at the conclusion that I didn’t. If the Monarchs took the bait today and attacked at some point, then that would likely be it for them.

The Rulers made a lot of arrangements to stack the odds in their favor. They even planned for if the Monarchs unleashed their armies at multiple points all at once. If such a thing happened, they were willing to deploy their own very limited in quantity army to handle it.

Part of me was rather amused that they didn’t even need to bother to directly take out the Monarchs; they were just that crippled at this point. Even if Lalatina didn’t want one for herself, they’d still likely win unless there was some sort of trump card I didn’t know of. Which was possible, but that was why I was here, to take care of that if it was required.

At the very least, the crowd seemed to be taking things a bit more seriously now, especially with the National Hunters taking the helm. I could hear them building up on what I said in there in an attempt to organize further.

There would be another party later tomorrow in recognition of the conference going on mostly without a hitch. The organizers of the event wanted to give everyone a day to process things and relax a bit, so it wasn’t held today. It was rather impressive that an event of this magnitude was organized without anything wrong happening. I even made sure to take some notes of my own for Ingvild’s concert that she wanted that I’d be arranging.

Jin-Woo’s Vice Guildmaster wasn’t even kidnapped in this timeline!

Though I was rather surprised the Monarchs were taking this long to take the bait. I mean, there wasn’t going to be many more if any opportunities in which all their targets just happen to be in one easy to access place.

Maybe I wasn’t giving them enough credit. Maybe they were intelligent enough to not fall for the bait. From the understanding I had about them, they were smart enough to pause when things were too good to be true, but then their egos got in the way and they’d go on to be stupid anyway, confident in the power they had.

Which actually worked in the previous timelines according to Lucian who had given me a run down about how events happened in the other loops.

The only real difference in this timeline was that I had cut down a few of their number, and Hinata had taken out Legia. And then the other change was the Phantoms’ presence, which I was still a bit curious about.

So far they hadn’t done anything special other than be particularly durable cockroaches. I expected a little more from a race ruled by the Phantom King Feldway. I hadn’t met the first Primordial Angel, but quite a lot of people I knew had things to say about him. Mostly bad things, but things nonetheless.

But I guess that it was for the best for this world that the Phantoms had proven to be disappointments so far, even if I was disappointed. Even if they continued to fail to be interesting, I still enjoyed my time in this world.

I didn’t get any direct power ups, but something like that was going to be very hard to come by at the point I was at, and wasn’t even why I came to this world in the first place.

At this point, I could match True Dragons in a fight, even if not in raw power. My physique was pretty durable now too, and my Skills were incredible. My technique was only improving. The only way I was lacking compared to them was in my soul and overall base stats, since even at the same EP level, True Dragons were a cut above the rest.

Othinus was slowly working on improving my soul and strengthening it, so with time, I’d match them fully.

I was essentially at the peak of my current potential. There would be ways to expand that potential, but they would be few and far between, so that couldn’t be why I ventured around to other worlds.

I mostly just wanted to relax and have a bit of worry-free fun in this world, and I did.

Though I had been here for quite some time now, so once I took care of my responsibility when it came to the Phantoms, I’d be leaving, and not interfering with things here anymore. There wasn’t a whole lot more that could entertain me or keep me busy here since I wasn’t interested in exploring the random dimensions.

The only thing to wait for now was the Monarchs to attack.

______________________________________________________________________

It had been a few hours since I said my part at the conference, though I was still at the venue since Milim wanted to go through all the sweet carts they had available... again. Megumin went off on her own as she went to go talk about explosions to some ministers of a few nations that were in charge of that.

She did tell me that most countries invented some rather unique ballistic missiles with the help of the magical resources Gates provided, so she wanted to see if they had even more ideas not available to the public.

It was mostly to pass the time for her, and in her own words, understand the culture of explosions in different worlds, to see if they had ideas that she hadn’t considered. That was one thing about Megumin that I liked; she was always willing to learn, even from those perceived as her "lessers".

That was how she wound up becoming a master swordswoman. Agera’s sword arts interested her, and so she learned since it added to her overall combat power.

Lalatina remained with me. She was currently clinging to my arm as the two of us followed Milim who was pulling Sirka around.

Most people gave us a breadth of space, but none of us minded that. Though a couple Hunters did come up to introduce themselves to us before quickly leaving.

Before long, Thomas arrived and he and Milim began talking, with Sirka seemingly having no idea what to do now. That girl seriously lacked any sort of social skills. It would be funny if it wasn’t sad.

Milim and Thomas weren’t close friends according to Milim herself, but the both of them shared personality types and got along well enough together. Enough that Milim wanted to talk with him sometimes when she felt like, so I left Milim, Sirka, and Thomas alone as the two of them began talking about their various fist arts they made use of.

It was a good opportunity for a nice one-on-one date with Lalatina. Anything could be a date if you set your mind to it.

The two of us went around and explored the site of the conference, mostly since I hadn’t gotten a good chance to see everything. By my own choice, of course.

They had a section of the conference available for the public’s view as well, in which they had stands that explained the daily life of a Hunter, how Gates were ranked, etc. It was mostly just touristy things.

Just as the two of us were about to head back to the conference to check in on Milim, I felt a spatial disturbance. One far greater than when a Gate normally formed, this was more like someone was trying to violently rip a hole to this world, whereas Gates felt more seamless.

After a moment of expanding my senses, I smiled. I could feel a few presences that could only be that of the Monarchs breaching through to this world.

I could stop them where they were, but I’d feel bad to ruin the entire show the Rulers planned. They deserved some closure at this point, and the only thing that’ll get them it is ripping the heads off the remaining Monarchs.

"Hmm, so it seems it’s finally happening. That’s good. I was getting kinda bored of waiting for something to happen."

Part of me just wanted to teleport to the Chaos World and blow all the Monarchs up easy-peasy, but I had to remind myself that doing everything for the people of this world would only hurt them long term.

I could be responsible here and there.

"Ooh, can I go take a look, Master~?" Lalatina asked excitedly. I was curious to see if she could actually pick anything up from the Poison Monarch. Lalatina was a master of poison even before her Ultimate Skill heightened that to the next level, but sometimes even the weakest of opponents could teach you a thing or two.

"Feel free. Only the poison one is yours though." I said casually, even as a heavy Aura settled over the entire venue. I could feel as a barrier was placed around the area, and then multiple smaller ones were placed inside the venue.

Lalatina pouted. "I know!" With that, her pairs of bat-like wings extended from her back and she flew off. Of course, her doing that caused a bit of chaos here, but that was quickly overshadowed by the massive blaring alarms that erupted.

I could feel the artifact I’d given to Lucian vibrate as he attempted to connect to it from his end.

"It seems it is beginning then. I wish to make certain that everything is fine on your end, and if you still desire the Poison Monarch for yourself." Lucian immediately asked.

"Fine enough so far."

"Very well. The vessels are currently under attack, but they are managing for the time being. Gates have also been opened around the world from which hordes of monsters are breaching through. We have deployed our armies to counter them."

I was mostly just confused at why he was practically reporting to me. Perhaps he was just falling into an old role, and this was what came naturally to him.

"Hmm, I’ll isolate those Gates I suppose. That way your Angels can fight them in an enclosed space and not have to worry." I could take care of them all from here if I wanted to, though I’d have to take on my true body, but the Angels deserved to have the chance to let some of their grievances air after so long.

Most of them had almost no ego, but that didn’t mean they didn’t have their own feelings.

I could feel Lucian’s surprise. "Truly? I thank you."

"Mhmm, no worries. Today’s been a good day and I’m feeling nice."

There was no downside to preventing the loss of civilian life around the world either. Perhaps I could let a few people die to send a deeper message, but that wasn’t something I wanted to do. If I was going to get my hands dirty, it would be for my own purposes.

If after this entire attack this world still failed to adapt, well then that was on them and would be a legitimate skill issue. If they failed to learn their lesson from this, then it is what it is. Though for some reason, that sounded like Humanity to me.

I wasn’t sure if I’d ever visit this universe to see the results of my actions though, unlike the Jujutsu Kaisen universe since I did have people I wanted to see there at some point.

I spoke to Megumin and told her that she was free to do as she wished, just not to one-shot all the Monarchs. She was probably just going to watch some fights and make fun of the Monarchs, probably. Megumin could be awfully mean if she wanted to be.

- Milim Nava -

As she talked to Thomas about how hard was too hard when it came to a punch, she paused, as did Sirka and Thomas’s other friend.

She noticed him grin as he cracked his knuckles. "Seems like it’s finally time then."

She tilted her head. "Time for what?"

Thomas’s friend similarly stood up and looked around seriously. His name was Christopher Reed and he was apparently supposed to be strong, though Milim personally thought he was pretty weak. She just called him Chris, though he didn’t seem to like that for some reason. Thomas seemed to like annoying him though, which she could understand. She liked to annoy weaklings too!

Though she thought the same of everyone she’d met in this world, even Thomas, and also almost everyone she knew in the Cardinal World. Though just because people were weak, it didn’t discount them in Milim’s view. People had more to offer beyond just how strong they were.

That was why Frey was her friend. That was why she befriended Felix back when he was a weak Daemon she could kill with a pinky flick.

Chris was here because he and Thomas were supposed to be "partners" in case of something happening. She didn’t ask about what, mostly because she didn’t care. There wasn’t anything in this world that could excite her very well.

Before anyone could respond, a couple of barriers were placed around them, though she could easily one-shot through them. Still, she was curious about what was going on. Felix didn’t tell her anything, though she was pretty sure he tried to at some point but she was focusing on her sweets.

It wasn’t her fault! He shouldn’t have tried to tell her something important when her sweets were distracting her! Umu, it was his fault!

Then, slowly, energy began to gather as she felt space beginning to warp. Then in front of the two of them, a red portal slowly shimmered into existence.

Milim noticed Sirka was extremely tense now. "What’s the matter, Sirka? Was someone mean to you!? Tell me who and I’ll beat them up for you!" Milim said as she fist pumped.

"I don’t believe that’s why she’s tense." Thomas said as he took a step towards the portal.

More and more energy began to coalesce in the area they were in, to a point that she was a little impressed. Just a little though.

She could have punched through the portal now if she wanted to, but she wanted to wait and see what would happen. The last time she went through one of those portals, she met her newest minion/friend! Maybe she’d get a new minion today!

Before long, the portal grew more stable, and a man stepped through it. He had red hair, red eyes, and an overall rough appearance. His energy was that of a Dragon, and he was a rather powerful one too. The strongest Dragon she’d ever met excluding the True Dragons and herself if they even counted.

Well the Chaos Dragon was stronger too.

The dragon in front of her was still good in terms of energy and magic power at least, whether he could fight or not remained to be seen. Going by how tense Thomas and Chris were, she was pretty sure this guy was an enemy, so maybe she’d be able to toy with him a bit!

He looked at them with an air of superiority, which annoyed her a bit, it had been a long, long time since anyone had looked at her like that.

She noticed his gaze lingered on her a bit before he moved to Sirka. "I see, so you have sided with them then? How disappointing." He said without emotion. "You had potential, but it seems that it will be going to waste. After all, you know what I do to traitors, don’t you?"

Eh? Did Sirka know this guy? Was he bullying her!? No one made fun of her minions except her, and maybe Felix, but only because he was her Bestie and let her hang out with him and his minions whenever she wanted.

She’d have to give this guy a piece of her mind! Though she stopped herself once she saw the expression on Sirka’s face, it was cold and resolute.

Felix did always say there were times to give one’s minions their own times to shine. Sirka couldn’t grow stronger if Milim always protected her. She may act carelessly most of the time, but that didn’t mean that Milim didn’t know the consequences her actions could have on others and the world around her.

She sorta had to learn it when the first time she went out of control, she erased a kingdom out of existence, killing millions.

Hmm, if this guy was mean even after Sirka let him have a piece of her mind, then she’d give him a stern talking to, or maybe more if he really annoyed her.

"I have made my choice, Antares. In the few weeks I have left your company, I have learnt more about myself than I believed I would ever be allowed to. I learned what it was like to have friends, to eat good food, to have entertainment freely available, I have learnt what it is like to live."

No one else attacked as Sirka said her part, though Chris and Thomas were subtly repositioning themselves to make for a better angle of attack. That was useless though, she could tell Antares saw through them.

Antares raised a brow, amusement evident on his face at Sirka’s words, which pissed Milim off. Milim could feel Sirka gather energy, and before anyone could say anything, Sirka sent a beam of pure ice that was meant to freeze its target completely in an instant. Antares merely huffed and raised his arm, blocking the ice, though it did spread over his arm slightly before harmlessly dissipating.

"Impressive. I wouldn’t have expected anything from you to even affect me."

"Hmph! Sirka has been working hard!" Milim said with a self-assured nod. Sirka seemed to be disappointed that all her attack amounted to was a tiny scratch, but Milim’s words seemed to cheer her up slightly.

Sirka really was super emotional despite what it seemed like at first glance.

"Ah yes, you must be the other Demon Lord." Antares mentioned as his gaze focused onto her. Thomas and Chris were still hiding out, not attacking or anything, which was weird. She didn’t think the two of them were the types to be cowards, well at least not Thomas, but oh well.

She crossed her arms. "Hmph! I was a Demon Lord before Felix!" She wasn’t just the "other" Demon Lord!

"Very well then." Unlike how he was looking at the others, he was looking at her seriously. "I would like to extend an offer to you. Join us."

"Eh, join you?"

Antares nodded. "Yes. Once this planet is ours, and the war with the Rulers begins in earnest, with a being like you on our side, our victory is assured. I can feel the power you are radiating now, and it is more than enough to be considered amongst our numbers."

The power she was radiating? But Felix made her hold back almost all of her power? Oh well.

"You want to take over the planet?" She asked curiously.

Antares tilted his head. "Indeed, though I imagine not much of it will remain after our battles."

...Not much of it will remain? Did they want to rid this world of sweets!? How evil!

"If you agree, we can take out these two vessels, and I will agree to spare Sirka from my wrath, and as you are associated with this Demon Lord Felix, perhaps he will agree to join our numbers as well." Antares stated, as if he was already assured that she would agree.

She was pretty sure he was just stupid. Either that, or his ego was through the roof and he couldn’t even contemplate the idea of her rejecting his offer.

"You wanna kill Thomas and Chris too?" She paused. "Well I get Chris, he’s kind of annoying."

"The two are vessels of the Rulers. Of course they will be dealt with."

At this point, Sirka had taken her place behind her, seemingly content to follow her lead, whereas Thomas and Chris were looking around nervously, as if they were waiting for something.

"Hmm, how about no. I like this world!" With that, she pointed a finger at Antares who was in the process of sighing.

"It seems there are fools everywhere." He commented, but once she began gathering a teeny tiny amount of stardust, a full-blown panicked expression appeared on his face.

She wasn’t going to use a Drago Nova. A full blown Drago Nova would probably destroy the planet even if it didn’t directly hit anything. The sheer Aura a Drago Nova gave off alone was tremendous.

"Wha–" Before Antares could even finish speaking, she fired her mini Drago Nova at him. In an instant, he was pierced through. Even his core was destroyed by that.

After a moment, the body he was possessing collapsed, and his soul shattered.

She turned to look at Thomas and Chris who were wide-eyed. "He was a baddie, right?"

After a few moments Thomas broke down laughing. "Pfft, hahaha, yeah, yeah he was."

Ah good, so he was a baddie. She would have felt bad if she killed someone that wasn’t.

Then the barrier around them shattered as some other guy appeared.

"Took you long enough, Il-Hwan." Chris grunted as he let out a sigh of relief. Out of everyone here, Chris was definitely the most scared, which was funny.

The man looked around before his gaze settled on her. "I apologize, but you are not the only ones being attacked. I was told off by one of Demon Lord Felix’s subordinates before coming here, but it seems I am unneeded." He said as he looked at the corpse of Antares.

"Yeah, unneeded is a way to say it. Milim here just one-shot that guy!" Thomas said with a laugh.

Il-Hwan’s eyes widened. "Truly!?"

"Hmm, I feel like I’m missing something here. So what’s going on?" She eventually asked.

Chris just looked at her with deadpan eyes. "So you’re telling me that you have no idea what’s going on? You just felt like killing that guy?"

Milim nodded. "That’s what I said, dummy."

Chris’s brows twitched before he sighed. "I can’t."

"You can’t what?" She asked, but he just ignored her.

She was right. Chris was annoying.

I am highly motivated by your guys’ reviews and likes, so do that! I’ll probably keep writing or something.

Author’s Note:

Sup everyone, back with another Chapter. The final bit of this world has kicked off in earnest now. I didn’t really wanna make a long drawn out fight with Antares or anything, I thought it would be more funny if he was killed just like that because he didn’t expect Milim to be Milim.

Anyways, thanks for reading, peace!

Thanks to @Salante and @Flowerman for beta’ing this Chapter.
