Chapter 441: The Battle Of The Kings [2]

Then Noah’s sword found him again from above.

The combination was relentless and merciless—elemental manipulation used not as standalone techniques but as components of a combat system that exploited every opening simultaneously. Darian couldn’t defend against all three attack vectors at once, and Noah never gave him time to prioritize.

Blood appeared on the dark king’s cheek from a controlled slash. His defensive aura cracked from the pressure. His dark element constructs struggled to form faster than Noah destroyed them.

"Impossible!" Darian snarled through labored breathing, shock transforming his features as he barely deflected another combination attack. "How are you this strong?! You were an adept-rank nobody! This must be the work of that shop!"

His eyes snapped to Lola hovering nearby, watching with crossed arms and satisfaction. The fury that entered his expression when he looked at her was volcanic.

"You!" Darian pointed with a trembling hand. "Everything—the shopkeeper’s death, the shop vanishing, my failure to claim it—it was all your doing! You manipulated everything from the beginning! You used him as bait to eliminate your competition!"

Lola raised an eyebrow, and to rile him up, she said "Took you long enough to figure that out, genius."

The confirmation made Darian’s rage overflow completely. He abandoned his engagement with Noah and surged toward Lola with killing intent so pure it distorted the air around him.

"I WILL KILL YOU!"

Noah’s voice cut through the chaos like a blade.

"Don’t you dare approach my wife."

He appeared between Darian and Lola before the dark king had crossed half the distance, moving with wind-enhanced speed that made his arrival seem instantaneous. His elbow drove into Darian’s sternum with force backed by his insane strength attributes—a number that transcended grandmaster parameters by a catastrophic margin.

The impact was audible from miles away.

Darian’s body folded around Noah’s elbow, his defensive aura shattering completely under the concentrated force. Then Noah grabbed him by his collar and pivoted, adding rotational momentum to the already devastating attack.

He threw Darian downward.

The dark elf king fell like a comet, his body charging through the air fast enough to generate heat from friction before he hit the ground. He crashed through the roof of a dark elf administrative building, through the floor beneath, and into the structure’s foundations before finally stopping.

The building collapsed around him.

Then the adjacent building, destabilized by the shockwave, crumbled as well.

Then a third.

Dust and debris expanded outward in a cloud that obscured the entire impact zone. Dark elf soldiers who had been watching from what they thought was safe distance found themselves scrambling backward from falling masonry.

Silence settled over the battlefield as everyone—coalition members, dark elf soldiers, enslaved light elves watching from below—processed what they had just witnessed.

Noah descended slowly, landing at the edge of the debris field with his sword still drawn, fire and wind still dancing along the blade.

"Get up, Darian," Noah said calmly into the dust cloud. "We’re not finished."

The dust cloud churned and shifted as movement stirred within it.

Then Darian rose.

He emerged from the rubble of three collapsed buildings like something dragged back from the precipice of death through sheer spite. His robes were shredded, blood streaming freely from wounds that would have killed ordinary grandmasters, his left arm hanging at a grotesque angle.

But his right hand was steady.

Dark energy coalesced around that hand, channeling everything he had left into a single purpose.

The same spear that had killed Noah once before.

Darian’s eyes found Noah through the settling dust, and something complicated moved through his expression. Hatred, certainly. Desperation, undeniably. But underneath both of those, the first feeling of fear Darian had experienced in decades of absolute power.

"I killed you once," he muttered, wiping blood from his mouth with the back of his left hand while his right kept the spear steady. His voice carried the hoarse conviction of someone trying to believe their own words. "I will kill you again."

The spear pulsed with dark energy as he poured more power into it, the weapon growing denser and more lethal with each passing second.

Darian drew his arm back.

Noah watched the preparation without moving, without raising his sword, without changing his expression. His free hand opened at his side as four different elemental energies began gathering simultaneously—wind swirling counterclockwise, fire burning at the center, water condensing, earth fragmenting upward from the ground beneath his feet.

The elements twisted around each other in complex patterns, each one feeding the others in a spiral of increasing power. Wind fed the fire while controlling the water’s form. Earth provided anchor and mass. Fire provided heat that supercharged the wind. Water cooled and compressed what would otherwise be too unstable to control.

The result was a spear of four elements that had never existed before in Aethermoor’s history—a technique born from Noah’s unique position as a multi-element practitioner who had pushed his disciplines to Level 25 mastery, then combined them.

It was breathtaking.

Fire wrapped around a core of compressed earth, water spiraling the exterior in stabilizing patterns, wind providing the driving force that made the entire construct scream with velocity as it formed completely.

Darian threw his dark spear with a shout that contained rage, and the absolute refusal to accept that someone he had killed could now be this far beyond him.

Noah released his spear in the same instant.

The two spears met in the space between them.

For a fraction of a second they were equal. Then Noah’s spear won.

The dark spear broke apart, shadow magic dissolving as the four-element construct tore through it without losing meaningful momentum. The combined elemental weapon continued forward, now splitting apart into its four component streams that fanned outward like fingers reaching for their target.

Darian’s eyes widened as he saw them coming.

He tried to dodge. He tried to defend. But nothing was fast enough to top the incoming missile.

The fire element spear pierced his chest on the left side, cauterizing as it entered.

The wind element spear drove through his chest on the right, the compressed air expanding inside his body.

The water and earth spears found his abdomen and neck respectively.

Darian floated there for a moment, suspended in the air. His expression that of pure shock, and agony.

The dark energy around his body gave out, his body becoming frail.

Slowly, Darian began to drop from the sky. His arms fell to his sides. His eyes lost their focus. The overwhelming aura that had made kingdoms surrender without fighting flickered and dimmed like a lamp running out of oil.

He fell toward the ground far below, on the absolute brink of death.

The watching coalition said nothing. Even the enslaved light elves watching from the streets below had fallen completely silent.

The only sound was the wind.

Noah descended slowly, following Darian’s falling body with unhurried steps through the air, his four-element spear already dissolving back into ambient energy around him.
