Chapter 436: Perfect Victory [2]

When the light faded and the smoke began clearing, two figures lay motionless in an enormous crater where part of the palace had once stood.

King Asmodeus and Prince Malphas were still alive—barely. Their grandmaster constitutions had kept them breathing despite injuries that would have killed others instantly. But they were broken, bleeding, and utterly defeated.

The fighting throughout the city stopped as everyone turned to witness what would happen next.

Lola descended slowly, landing at the crater’s edge and walking down the slope toward the fallen usurpers. Her expression showed no mercy, and no hesitation.

The master-rank demons who had served Asmodeus began surrendering en masse. Weapons dropped from nerveless fingers. Auras retracted in submission.

They had seen enough. Their king was defeated, his heir broken, and the princess they had underestimated had proven herself overwhelmingly superior. Continuing to fight was suicide.

Viscount Vex’s voice rang out clearly. “Surrender now and you may live as citizens under the rightful queen! Resist further and share your usurper masters’ fate!”

The remaining resistance crumbled completely. Within minutes, thousands of demons throughout the capital had surrendered, acknowledging defeat and pledging loyalty to the returning heir.

Lola reached Asmodeus first. The former king tried to speak, blood bubbling from his lips. “Please… mercy… I was… stronger…”

“You were never stronger,” Lola corrected coldly. “You were just willing to be more cowardly. To attack in the night. To murder the sleeping. That’s not strength, that’s weakness masquerading as power.”

She placed her hand on his forehead, and fire began flowing from her palm into his skull. “You are weak. I’m strong, therefore…you should die.”

Asmodeus screamed as the energy invaded his mind, destroying his consciousness piece by piece. But Lola didn’t make it quick. She let him feel every second of it, let him experience the terror her parents must have felt in their final moments.

When it was finally over, Asmodeus’s body went limp, his eyes vacant and lifeless. The usurper king was dead.

Lola turned to Prince Malphas, who was trying desperately to crawl away despite his shattered legs. “My… father… the man behind the attack is dead… please… I surrender…”

“You surrendered nothing,” Lola said coldly, staring at him with eyes that ordered a thousand deaths. “You simply lost the ability to resist.”

She grabbed him by his hair, forcing him to look at her. “Do you remember what you said when you cornered me that day? When you thought you’d won?”

Malphas’s eyes widened with dawning horror as his own words came back to haunt him.

Her other hand plunged into his chest, fire flowing directly into his heart, burning it from the inside.

Malphas screamed as his life force was slowly, drained away.

Lola stood, her hands stained with the blood of her family’s murderers, and turned to face the assembled demons of Lilin. Her voice carried magically to every corner of the capital.

“The usurpers are dead! The true royal line is restored! I, Princess Lola of the House of Lilin, rightful heir to the throne, claim my birthright!”

For a moment, silence reigned.

“Yeah!!”

It started with the loyalists who had fought beside her, their cheers of victory and vindication. But it spread rapidly—to the surrendered soldiers who recognized her right of conquest, to the common citizens who had suffered under Asmodeus’s harsh rule, to the nobles who saw opportunity in the new order.

“LONG LIVE QUEEN LOLA!”

“HAIL THE TRUE QUEEN!”

“JUSTICE FOR THE ROYAL FAMILY!”

The chant built and built until the entire capital city was shouting in unison, their voices creating a wall of sound that shook the air itself.

Years of exile, desperate survival, and today’s brutal combat had all led to this moment.

But the celebrations intensified even further when someone shouted a realization that sent waves of excitement through the crowd: “The Queen has returned with the human shopkeeper! The one with the miraculous items!”

“We’ll have access to the enhancement consumables again!”

“The kingdom will become strong under the true queen AND the mysterious merchant!”

The legendary shop that had briefly operated in Lilin before the coup, the source of miraculous items that could transform ordinary demons into powerful warriors, would return with the queen.

Noah watched from his position in the sky, smiling with satisfaction at how perfectly everything had unfolded. Lola had her revenge, her throne, and her people’s support. And now an entire demon kingdom would become his loyal customers and allies.

Viscount Vex approached Lola, kneeling formally. “Your Majesty, the palace is yours. What are your orders?”

Lola took a deep breath, composing herself and shifting from vengeance-driven warrior to ruling monarch. “Secure the city. Treat surrendered forces with dignity—they served misguided masters but can serve their true queen honorably. Gather the noble houses for a formal coronation tomorrow.”

She turned toward Noah, her expression softening as she met his eyes. Then, after a moment of thinking, she turned towards the crowd.

“Silence!”

The crowd immediately stopped talking, listening to their queen’s words. “Today, you have been freed from a usurper king. Today, you gained your rightful queen, and today…you gained a rightful king! Noah Carter of the human kingdom, is now your king…my king!”

Lola gently grabbed Noah’s neck, and pulled him closer, kissing him directly in-front of the entire demon kingdom. Everyone remained silent, watching in pure shock.

Noah smiled at her boldness, but did not resist her.

“Noah…are you willing to marry me.” She separated from their kiss, asking him, her eyes glistening in pure delight, and hope.

Noah’s smile only widened, “I was the one who is meant to say that…but…yes. I want to marry you, grow old with you, and spend the rest of my life with you…”

The crowd roared its approval again. The mysterious shop owner was a well known celebrity, and with such a powerful, rich, and handsome king…they didn’t have a problem if he was a human.

Noah descended to join Lola as she walked toward the palace that was finally, rightfully hers.

Justice had been served. Honor had been restored. And a new era for the demon kingdom had begun—one built on legitimate rule, strength, and the promise of prosperity through Noah’s miraculous shop.

It was, in every way, a perfect victory.

Inside the castle that day, Noah and Lola consummated their marriage.
