Chapter 431: The Kingdom Of Luna
Chapter 431: The Kingdom Of Luna
In another part of the world, in another kingdom far from Esta’s borders, two powerful beings clad in glorious armor walked steadily toward the capital city’s main gate. Their presence radiated authority and menace in equal measure, though their faces remained hidden beneath deep hoods.
“Stop! What do you think you’re doing crossing the line without proper identification?!” A gate guard stepped forward aggressively, his aura flaring outward as he attempted to intimidate the strangers into compliance.
He was an adept rank warrior—strong enough to handle most threats to the kingdom’s security, and accustomed to people backing down when faced with his power.
The two hooded figures continued walking without breaking stride, completely ignoring his command and his displayed aura as if neither mattered in the slightest.
The guard’s face flushed with anger at being disregarded. He pulled out his weapon with aggressive intent, preparing to physically stop them from proceeding further. “I said stop! You will identify yourselves or—”
Before he could finish the threat, a powerful aura suddenly erupted from one of the two beings.
The pressure was overwhelming, crushing, and absolute. It slammed into the guard like a physical wall, and he collapsed instantly to the ground. His weapon clattered from nerveless fingers as his body convulsed, foam coming from his mouth as his consciousness fled from the sheer magnitude of power pressing down on him.
The guard captain, a master rank warrior who had been observing from his post, felt that aura and his blood ran cold with instinctive terror.
“A grandmaster…” he whispered, his voice shaking. “This is a grandmaster!”
No, he realized with dawning horror as he sensed the second figure’s comparable presence. TWO grandmasters had just arrived at their gates unannounced.
The captain immediately abandoned any thought of resistance and rushed forward, bowing deeply with every ounce of respect he could muster. “Esteemed guests! Please forgive my subordinate’s ignorance! He will be given the highest form of punishment. May I have the privilege of escorting you to meet with His Majesty? I’m certain he would be honored by your presence!”
The taller of the two hooded figures spoke a single word in a voice that carried absolute authority. “Lead.”
The captain nodded frantically and gestured toward the palace. “Of course! Please, follow me immediately!”
He began walking swiftly toward the inner city, signaling desperately to other guards as they passed. Those guards immediately understood the urgency and began sprinting ahead to warn the palace that grandmaster-level beings were approaching.
Messages were sent via communication artifacts. The entire capital’s defense force went on high alert as word spread that two unknown grandmasters had entered the kingdom.
At the palace of the Kingdom of Luna, King Aldous and his most powerful allies had assembled in the throne room with desperate speed. The warning had given them barely enough time to prepare for this unprecedented visit.
King Aldous himself was a grandmaster—one of only a handful in the human kingdoms, and the source of Luna’s regional influence and independence. Around him stood his most trusted advisors and generals, all of them peak master rank warriors who had served faithfully for decades.
They represented the pinnacle of Luna’s military might, the defenders who had kept their kingdom safe through countless conflicts and political intrigues.
Yet when the two hooded figures entered the throne room, that assembled power suddenly felt pathetically inadequate.
The aura that radiated from both visitors was overwhelming in a way that transcended simple rank. They weren’t just grandmasters—they were beings who had refined their power to heights that made Luna’s defenders look like children playing at war.
Before King Aldous could even offer formal greeting, one of the figures casually gestured.
An invisible force seized the king and all his allies, driving them to their knees with irresistible pressure. The crown toppled from Aldous’s head and clattered across the marble floor as he was forced into a position of absolute submission.
The taller figure pushed back its hood, revealing refined elven features—high cheekbones, pointed ears, and eyes that held centuries of accumulated arrogance and power. The second figure followed suit, revealing similar features that marked them both as high elves of significant status.
“Tell us,” the taller elf commanded, its voice carrying magical compulsion that made lying physically difficult. “Did any demon succubus appear in your kingdom recently? Selling powerful enhancement items or magical consumables?”
King Aldous’s mind raced even as he struggled against the pressure holding him down. Succubus? He had never seen one before, they were incredibly rare to find, even amongst demons.
“No, Your Highness,” Aldous managed to speak respectfully despite his humiliation. “We have never seen such a person within our borders.”
The elf’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Have you heard about her? Any rumors, reports, or intelligence from your spy networks?”
Aldous shook his head carefully, and his ministers did the same. “We haven’t heard anything specific, Your Highness. There are always rumors of merchants and miracle-workers traveling between kingdoms, but no one matching that description has come to our attention.”
The two elves exchanged a glance, some unspoken communication passing between them. After a moment, the taller one spoke again with finality.
“We will send our representative within a few days. They will assume governance of this kingdom from now on. You are no longer king.”
The words hit like a death sentence. Aldous felt his heart sink as the reality crashed down—centuries of his family’s rule, generations of independence and sovereignty, stripped away in a single pronouncement.
But he knew better than to protest. Resisting these beings would mean death for himself and everyone in the palace. At least this way, his people might survive under elven occupation.
“Yes… Your Highness,” Aldous forced out through gritted teeth, his pride shattered but his survival instinct intact.
“Good,” the elf replied with satisfaction, as if they’d just concluded a minor matter rather than conquering an entire kingdom. “Prepare your ministers for the transition of power. Our representative will expect full cooperation and complete documentation of your kingdom’s resources and military assets.”
Without further ceremony, the two elves turned and walked out of the throne room, their aura dissipating as they departed. The pressure holding the king and his advisors down released, and they collapsed fully to the floor, gasping for breath.
For several long moments, no one spoke. The silence was broken only by labored breathing and the distant sounds of the palace as life continued, unaware that everything had just changed.
Finally, King Aldous slowly picked up his fallen crown and stared at it with hollow eyes.
“The Kingdom of Luna has fallen,” he said quietly. “And we couldn’t even resist.”
His ministers remained kneeling, their expressions showing shock, shame, and helpless rage.
One of them finally found his voice. “Your Majesty… who were they looking for? This succubus they mentioned?”
Aldous shook his head slowly. “I don’t know. But whoever she is, she’s important enough that the elves are searching multiple kingdoms to find her. And they’re willing to conquer entire nations just to gather information.”
Another minister spoke grimly. “Should we try to find this succubus ourselves? Perhaps if we deliver her to the elves, they’ll restore your throne…”
