I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison
Chapter 45: Male School Heartthrob x Military Academy Student (8): Break All Three of His Legs
Reject!
Reject!!
Reject!!!
Having just updated the latest chapter, An Ruo was leisurely browsing reader comments when Uriel notified him:
Colonel Claire and Second Lieutenant Xi'an have applied for a visit at the end of the month. Would you like to accept?
〖Accept〗 or 〖Reject〗
It was as though An Ruo saw a selection box appear before his eyes.
The chibi version of himself in his head leaped up and smashed the Reject button furiously.
An Ruo widened his eyes, his face turning pale. He stood up and paced around, anxiously clawing at his hair, before turning back to stare at the light screen to make sure.
It was the same sentence.
He hadn't read it wrong.
Xi'an and Claire wanted to visit him.
But why?
They clearly didn't know each other.
Could they have known the original owner of this body?
No way, right?
One was from the Ninth Military District on the frontier, while the other had been in Capital Star. There shouldn't have been any intersection.
But Xi'an's hometown was also Capital Star. It wasn't impossible...
In short, there were only two possibilities.
Either they knew the original Annor.
Or his novel-writing had been exposed.
No matter which possibility it was, An Ruo couldn't face it calmly.
Did life really have to torment a socially anxious shut-in like this?
An Ruo grabbed his hair again.
His beautiful platinum long hair was reduced to a complete mess.
But his appearance was too outstanding and his hair too fine. Even messy, it still looked beautiful, making his looks stand out even more.
The appointment was at the end of the month.
And now...
It was only the beginning of the month, the third.
An Ruo glanced at the time in the bottom right corner of the screen and sighed in relief.
Fortunately, the two had followed the rules and hadn't launched a surprise attack.
There were still many days left.
He could ignore it for now.
An Ruo flopped onto his bed and buried his face in the blanket, pretending to be an ostrich.
Maybe after enough time had passed, they'd forget.
Or perhaps something unexpected would happen and their schedules would conflict, preventing them from coming.
Why not just reject them directly?
Because they were his protagonists.
Before writing that story, An Ruo hadn't even known Xi'an and Claire existed.
He had written his own story.
From his perspective, he had personally created his stories and characters.
Xi'an, Claire, Ulysses, Uriel, Aira, Cassian, the original protagonist, even the entire Zerg world...
He held a special affection for all of them.
Calling it fatherly love or motherly love wasn't quite right.
It was the feeling an author had toward the characters in a book.
The feeling a creator had toward his work and effort.
The Creator God's feelings toward his creations...
€€
Capital Star.
Military Headquarters.
"He still hasn't agreed?"
Ulysses looked at the pending visitation request on the screen.
"He hasn't... but he hasn't rejected it either."
Standing behind him, Uriel added a sentence.
Uriel couldn't understand the Marshal's intentions.
Ever since his last visit, the Marshal had sealed off all information about Lord Annor from the outside world, blocking everyone's curiosity.
Even the Generals of several Military Districts had no idea what was happening inside the prison.
Yet when Speaker Cassian began investigating, the Marshal had strangely allowed the information to spread.
Ulysses stared at the names on the visitation request.
Xi'an.
Claire.
His Second Lieutenant and his Colonel.
The protagonists of Instructor.
For some reason, he had always paid unusual attention to that book written by a male.
Especially after learning that Second Lieutenant Xi'an and Colonel Claire had truly gotten married...
They were just as sweet and loving as they were in the book.
Ulysses vaguely felt that he had grasped something, but couldn't quite see it clearly.
Invisible threads of spirit floated through the air, shrouding the entire Zerg race like a dense fog.
He had seized one end of the thread...
If he kept pulling, what would emerge?
Ulysses wondered.
...
Inside the prison, An Ruo, who had been lying on his bed avoiding reality, suddenly shivered.
It felt as though something had grabbed him by the neck.
His nape turned cold and goosebumps covered his body.
He hurriedly burrowed under the blanket.
...
"How long will it take him to approve the visitation request?"
Inside the military building, Ulysses asked.
Based on his understanding of male Zergs, Uriel guessed:
"...The last day of the month?"
Approving it on the final day didn't count as rejecting it.
As for whether Xi'an and Claire could rush from the Ninth Military District in a single day, that was another matter.
Ulysses: "..."
The personality of this unknown creature really was...
Unexpected.
"At least it'll still be before the end of the month..."
Looking at the date, a thoughtful look appeared in Ulysses' silver-gray eyes.
"I hope I can make it back in time."
Uriel caught something in his words and looked up in surprise.
"Marshal, are you leaving Capital Star?"
"The Heavenly Garuda have been rather restless lately, constantly harassing the border. They deserve a lesson."
Cold light flashed in Ulysses' eyes.
The threat posed by an SS-rank General and an SS-rank Marshal wasn't comparable.
The Heavenly Garuda knew that once Ulysses had firmly secured his position and integrated the forces of all Military Districts, they would be facing an unprecedentedly powerful Zerg army.
So they deliberately caused trouble during the vulnerable transition period.
They didn't expect to overthrow Ulysses through such petty means.
They merely wanted to make his life difficult.
Ideally, they'd keep him overwhelmed and unable to deal with the Heavenly Garuda for the next ten years.
How could Ulysses not understand their intentions?
They wanted to tie him down.
So he would do exactly the opposite.
...
On StarNet, female Zergs were still discussing the Heavenly Garuda infiltrators.
[How long has it been? There are still fake Heavenly Garuda everywhere. What exactly is StarNet Security doing? Are they all freeloaders?]
[If they really wanted to solve it, they would've done so already. Dragging it out this long means it's intentional.]
[I suggest a full investigation. There are definitely Heavenly Garuda spies inside the Federation!]
[Oh wow, getting anxious already?]
[I achieved a score of 0.0001 seconds in Judge the Fake Infiltrator↑, beating 99.99% of players. Come try it too.]
Soon the comment section became another battlefield.
The Zergs cursed the Heavenly Garuda as fake bugs, invasive species with no StarNet of their own, no novels of their own, cultural wastelands, jealous losers drooling over other races' males. Their nobles monopolized the best males, and the lower classes had to pool money just to marry low-grade males. Even then, they'd never earn those males' true love, and every male wished they'd die sooner...
The Heavenly Garuda cursed the Zergs as masochists driven insane by abuse. They mocked them, saying their Male Lords would whip them once they got home and they'd better remember to say thank you. They sneered that Zerg novels weren't much better. If An hadn't appeared, they'd still be reading stories about male Zergs whipping them...
They knew each other's sore spots too well and stepped on them mercilessly.
The war of insults dragged on endlessly.
Even after hundreds of Heavenly Garuda accounts were blown up, they kept creating new ones and returning.
Until news arrived that An had updated.
StarNet suddenly became quiet.
Everyone scattered.
Soon, the Zergs and Heavenly Garuda who had just been screaming at each other met again beneath the new chapter.
Seeing the familiar IDs—
[Heh.]
[Heh.]
[I'm blowing up your account after I finish reading. (mocking)]
[Oh really? After I finish reading, I'll go sleep with your Male Lord. (giggle)]
War was about to break out again.
Passing readers: "?"
Didn't understand.
Never mind.
Reading was more important.
...
[After both the hatchling and the male had fallen asleep, Iso quietly left the house.
They had been followed.
Which wasn't surprising.
Females and sub-males from the Underground District all knew how to fly.
Flying while carrying a hatchling was normal.
Flying while carrying an adult was far too conspicuous.
Under such circumstances, it was either someone with crippled wings...
Or a male Zerg.
Although Iso had tried his best to hide the male's face against his chest during the flight, someone had still set their eyes on them.
Normally, after seeing his residence and learning his identity, the stalkers should have retreated.
It seemed he had underestimated the allure of a male.
Iso could only personally step out and deal with the sneaking pursuers.
He didn't kill them.
He merely taught them a lesson and told them to get lost.
Before leaving, their leader still wanted to say something threatening.
Iso couldn't be bothered listening to his nonsense and simply kicked him away.
A perfect hundred-meter basket.
After dealing with the stalkers, Iso inspected his clothes. Confirming there wasn't a trace of blood, he sighed in relief and returned to the mech.
Dawn was approaching.
He still needed to prepare breakfast for the hatchling and the male.
The hatchling was easy to feed.
Other than disliking vegetables by themselves, he had no problems.
Stuff vegetables inside meat, or stuff meat inside vegetables, and he'd eat them.
Preparing breakfast for a male Lord, however, was a far greater challenge.
...
The Zerg race had strong healing abilities.
As long as the injuries weren't fatal and there was enough energy, recovery was only a matter of time.
Several female Zergs climbed out of a pit, not daring to raise their heads before the screen in front of them.
"Family Head, we have failed your expectations."
On the other side of the screen, a black-haired female in a General's uniform swept his gaze over them.
His icy black eyes carried tremendous pressure.
"He defeated all of you by himself?"
No one dared speak.
Their heads lowered even further in shame.
Though he was only an A+ now, he possessed S-rank potential.
Their levels weren't that far apart.
Yet they hadn't even managed to fight back.
The General found them unpleasant to look at and cut off the communication.
He then opened his list of attendants and contacted one of them.
The screen displayed the face of a brown-haired attendant.
The man sat behind a desk in formal attire, holding a hot drink and looking thoroughly professional.
Upon seeing him, he grinned.
"Female Lord, you're actually contacting me first? Has Capital Star started spinning backwards?"
The General ignored the joke and went straight to the point.
"The brat you admitted into your school abducted the family's male."
The brown-haired attendant immediately sat upright, putting down his teacup.
"You mean... Iso? Could there be some mistake? That child seemed pretty decent to me. No distracting thoughts, no interest in entertainment, completely obsessed with his mech. I thought he'd spend his whole life hugging a mech."
Just then, his terminal beeped.
A new email unfolded automatically.
It was Iso's withdrawal request.
"..."
Silence fell over the principal's office.
"Heh."
The General sneered.
"Control the brat in your school. Otherwise, when I return, I'll break all three of his legs. And yours too... not that they're being used anyway."
The brown-haired attendant immediately squeezed his legs together and forced out a professional smile.
"Not being used and not having them are two different things. Male Lord wouldn't want me disabled."
The communication was terminated.
Looking at the dark screen, the brown-haired female felt a headache coming on.
What kind of mess was this?
That kid Iso had silently abducted the General's treasure?
And it was only the first day after school started at the neighboring academy.
No wonder the General had exploded.
If he hadn't still been several star systems away, he would've already slaughtered his way over.
He trusted Iso's character.
But looking at the withdrawal application, he fell silent.
Then he rejected it and ordered Iso to return to school within one day.
There was no way he would allow Iso to quit.
S-rank potential couldn't be wasted in a place like the Underground District.
Besides—
Nothing was bigger than the family's male.
€€€€ Bring the male back immediately.
Otherwise, two Zergs in this world were about to lose three legs.
Don't ask which two Zergs.
And don't ask which three legs.
