I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison
Chapter 332.2
Shamir lifted the blanket and glanced down. His face reddened as he shifted a little, then went to the bathroom first to take care of a personal problem.
Once everything was cleaned up, he looked himself over from side to side in the mirror. After confirming that there were no dark circles under his eyes and that he looked radiant, he finally went out to find Ravens.
His plans had been beautiful. Mr. Ravens looked very attractive in a farm work uniform too. But somehow, Shamir ended up following him around and working for the entire day, without finding any time at all for a date.
Several times, Ravens tried to persuade him to go rest, telling him he could just watch from the side and didn’t need to do anything, but Shamir stubbornly kept going.
He kept thinking that once they finished whatever was in front of them, they could go on their date.
Only then did he discover that Ravens’s work schedule was packed so tightly there was no time for a date at all.
Shamir couldn’t understand it.
“Can’t we just let the machines harvest these flowers? Why do we have to do it ourselves?”
Ravens looked at him helplessly and said, “It’s ‘me’ who has to do it personally, because I’m taking these home to make snacks and desserts for you. If it’s something for a Male Zerg, it feels more sincere when the Female Zerg does it himself.”
That was admittedly a very convincing reason.
At least, it had convinced Ravens. He was perfectly happy to do all of it.
What he hadn’t expected was for Shamir to come along and work with him.
Ravens had assumed that with a Male Zerg’s patience, Shamir would play around for a little while and then leave.
He hadn’t expected Shamir to stay with him the whole time, no matter how much he tried to persuade him otherwise.
Ravens felt both distressed and touched, which only made him blame himself more.
It didn’t matter what happened to him.
Shamir shouldn’t have to do these things with him.
Shamir, however, wasn’t satisfied with that answer.
He was looking forward to eating the food Ravens made, and it was fun to work together and keep each other company.
But he still felt that this workload was abnormal.
Even if they wanted to do it, couldn’t they just do a little every day and take their time? They could treat it as enjoying life together.
Why cram so much into a single day?
There wasn’t even any time left for dating!
Now that they had officially confirmed their relationship, all of Shamir’s thoughts were practically written on his face, with a touch of exaggerated, screen-actor expressiveness mixed in. They were very easy to read.
Ravens knew exactly what Shamir was thinking.
Male Zergs all had somewhat youthful temperaments. At a time like this, he naturally wanted to spend time having fun with the Female Zerg he had just confirmed a relationship with, rather than doing boring labor.
Ravens thought for a moment, then said seriously, “Starting tomorrow, I’ll follow you. Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do.”
He had come to the farm for Shamir.
Making Shamir’s father and older brothers satisfied with him was important, but Shamir’s own feelings were even more important.
“Would that be all right?”
Shamir’s eyes immediately brightened, but then he hesitated, worried that Ravens might fail to finish his assigned work and get punished.
Then he reconsidered.
Ravens had come here to experience farm life.
Couldn’t Shamir simply take him around and let him experience it?
Besides, Ravens wasn’t actually a farm employee.
There was no reason to punish a guest, shareholder, and his son’s Female Zerg boyfriend all at once.
Shamir reasoned it all out by himself and happily said, “All right! Then tomorrow we’ll go catch fish in the river!”
“Okay.”
Naturally, Ravens fully supported Shamir’s decision.
As for catching fish...
If Shamir planned to get into the water...
Ravens thought for a moment and said, “We’ll need to prepare waterproof clothes.”
“Huh?” Shamir froze, then asked quietly, “Do they have to be waterproof?”
Then he wouldn’t get to see a soaking-wet Ravens!
Ravens tilted his head in confusion.
“Mm?”
......]
[Wait, what?]
The readers expressed their doubts too.
[A whole day packed full of work still couldn’t separate them?]
[His Female Father was so worried about not being able to guard against Ravens at night that he never considered Ravens could abduct his son during the day too.]
[There’s nothing he can do. His son grew wings and keeps flying toward Ravens.]
[A medical miracle! Male Zerg wings that regressed thousands of years ago have somehow regained the ability to fly!]
[You can’t deal with a young couple this way. The more you put the Female Zerg through hardships, the more the Male Zerg will pity him. He’ll start feeling like the whole world is against them and trying to stop them from being together, while everyone else becomes the “villains,” and he and his Female Zerg become the poor bullied little victims. Then the Male Zerg will become even more determined about choosing that Female Zerg, throw himself into his arms without hesitation, and stick to him even more tightly.]
[So that’s how it works? Master! I understand now!]
[Got it. The more Shamir’s family makes things difficult for Ravens, the more Shamir will like Ravens, unite with him, and face the common enemy together.]
[That really is how it works. Once Shamir’s family takes on the role of the “villain,” Shamir and Ravens become the protagonists on the same side. Oh. They really are the protagonists. That makes it even more accurate.]
[Whatever happens, buy Ravens some decent waterproof clothes. I’m afraid he’s eating too well already (angry)!]
[No! If he wears waterproof clothes, Lord Shamir won’t get to eat either. We can’t ruin Lord Shamir’s fun.]
[??? (confused Tianjia face) At a time like this, you’re still worried about whether the Male Zerg gets to eat well?]
[Of course we are. Isn’t that the most basic thing? Female Zergs can compete with each other however they like, but they can’t ruin the Male Zerg’s mood. That’s an unspoken rule all Female Zergs understand.]
[6.]
......
[Shamir was still thinking about how to sneak Ravens away for dates under his Female Father’s nose and how to wage a battle of wits and courage against his family.
Then the next morning, at the breakfast table, his Female Father announced that Ravens no longer needed to do all that work and only had to take good care of Shamir.
Shamir looked up in shock.
He couldn’t believe his Female Father had suddenly changed his attitude so completely.
He quickly exchanged glances with Ravens across the table.
Ravens also looked confused and surprised, clearly having known nothing beforehand.
But as his gaze shifted, there was also a trace of speculation in it, as if he had some idea why.
This wasn’t a good time to openly whisper and ask questions, so Shamir could only put the thought aside and decide to ask Ravens privately later.
No matter what, this was a good thing.
Shamir had actually been able to faintly sense that his family didn’t like Ravens very much.
He suspected it was because of all the gossip and rumors from the entertainment industry and had been worrying over it.
He hadn’t expected his Female Father to relent before Shamir himself had even done anything.
It seemed his family was gradually accepting Mr. Ravens after all.
Shamir was sincerely happy.
He broke into a brilliant smile, praised his Female Father wildly, and declared that he would take excellent care of Ravens, fulfill his duties as a host, and make sure Ravens enjoyed himself.
“Ahem, ahem. Stop right there!” His Female Father hurriedly cut him off and said sternly, “I said he should take care of you, not that you should take care of him.”
As he spoke, he looked toward Ravens with a severe gaze.
Shamir still didn’t understand what difference there was between the two kinds of “taking care.”
Wasn’t it just taking care of each other?
Ravens, however, answered immediately.
“Please don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Shamir and care for him as though he were my Male Lord.”
Care for him.
As though he were his Male Lord.
Shamir’s face instantly turned red.
To a Male Zerg’s ears, that was no different from a romantic confession.
To the other Female Zergs’ ears, however, it meant something completely different.
Shamir’s Female Father’s face turned red, then black, then green.
For a moment, it was spectacular, like an overturned paint palette.
But he couldn’t say anything.
He couldn’t pour cold water on Shamir in front of him.
In the end, he could only let out a cold snort and decide to see how Ravens performed first.
......
After breakfast, Shamir took Ravens out with him.
They brought their fluffballs and the directionally challenged bird, and even took the jeweled dragon egg along to bask in the sun.
The spring scenery was beautiful.
The riverside was especially lush and green, with bright mountains and clear water. It was perfect for an outing, a spring excursion, a picnic—really, anything at all.
In the end, Ravens did not prepare any mood-killing waterproof clothes.
He hadn’t planned to let Shamir enter the water in the first place.
The sun had only just risen, and the morning water was still somewhat cold.
He told Shamir to stay on the bank while he went into the river to catch fish.
For a Female Zerg, this sort of activity was as easy as eating or drinking.
Ravens effortlessly caught one fish after another until the small bucket they had brought was full.
Meanwhile, Shamir held a camera and took pictures of Ravens from every possible angle.
If Ravens hadn’t forbidden him from entering the water, he would have gone in and taken low-angle shots from below.
Those muscle lines on his arms.
That chest, that waist, those legs.
And the rolled-up trouser legs and soaked hem of his clothes.
Especially the water splashed across his waist and abdomen.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Shamir had always been the one standing in front of the camera.
This was his first time becoming the Zerg behind the lens, and it actually felt pretty good.
Although he had already retired from the entertainment industry, perhaps someday he could make a movie himself.
He could call it...
Shamir looked at the footage on the camera, then at the few fluffballs bouncing into the water to try to catch fish with Mr. Ravens.
The water they splashed glittered like crystal under the sunlight.
It was an incredibly beautiful scene.
He could call it <Our Story>.
Or maybe <Shamir’s Love Story>, <Mr. Ravens’s Home>, <Two Birds, Three Balls, and One Dragon>, <Shamir and Ravens>, <Spring on the Farm>, <A Journey to Find True Love>...
In an instant, Shamir came up with several different movie titles and even multiple versions of the script.
But actually making a movie was no easy thing.
Even with virtual games and intelligent filming assistance, it still required a tremendous amount of effort.
He decided that he would start by filming some short everyday clips and posting them online.
It would both record their lives and give him practice.
Shamir thought about many things.
But the moment Ravens climbed out of the water and walked toward him, he immediately put away the smart camera and went over to greet him.
“Oh my, oh my, you’re all wet. You need to be wiped down properly.”
As Shamir spoke, he used his hands to wipe Ravens off, moving from his chest down to his waist and abdomen.
His eyes practically glowed as he rubbed.
The feel beneath his hands was unbelievably good.
At first, Ravens was still a little embarrassed and shy.
Once he realized the Male Zerg was deliberately touching him like this, however, he relaxed instead.
He even took the initiative to lift his clothes so Shamir could wipe underneath them.
Female Zergs instinctively knew how to please Male Zergs.
There were even specialized elective courses on the subject in university.
Even though Ravens had barely studied any of them, he wasn’t bad at it at all when he actually put it into practice.
He even knew to hold the lifted hem of his shirt between his teeth.
Shamir’s ears turned completely red.
He had only intended to tease Ravens a little.
He had never planned to take it this far.
But Mr. Ravens was already being so proactive.
If Shamir backed down now, he would look like a coward.
So he could only grit his teeth and go through with it.
The two Zergs fooled around for quite a while beneath the shade of the trees by the river.
By the time the fluffballs’ soaked fur had completely dried in the sun and the wet hem of Ravens’s clothes had long since been dried by his body heat, they finally got up from the grass.
Only the pheromones had soaked into yet another large patch.
The air was filled with the sweet scent of a Female Zerg in courtship.
......]
The readers were practically drooling.
[Lord Shamir, you said you were going to film short clips. You know what we want to {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} see, right? Exactly. This! Hurry up and film this scene and send it to us!]
[Urgently need a video version! Why can’t my text turn itself into a video? I’m dying here.]
[When I get rich, I’m definitely buying a terminal that lets me see the video.]
[Well, well, Ravens. Normally he never shows off at all, but at a time like this, he’s unexpectedly so good at it!]
[Seriously. Before this, the Male Zerg Protection Association even came knocking because he was so bad at it, and now it’s like he suddenly became enlightened.]
[The Male Zerg already ran away once. Of course he had to wake up. If he didn’t put in the effort now, he’d never win him back.]
[I’m so jealous. Outdoors, riverside, grass... I never expected Shamir to be this bold. I’m taking my Female Lord on a spring outing too.]
[You call that a spring outing? I almost don’t want to expose you. Wait, you’re a Male Zerg Lord? Now I’m even more jealous!]
[So will I ever live long enough to see a video version?]
[Don’t dream about it. Shamir never even had an actual on-screen first kiss. Every scene was done with camera angles and editing, plus that damned impressionistic style! There’s no way he’d upload something this spicy.]
[That was back when Ravens, his “financial backer,” was controlling things. Maybe now he can. Ravens didn’t like seeing Shamir film intimate scenes with other Female Zergs, but now that the Female Zerg lead is Ravens himself, surely he’d be willing, right?]
[Not necessarily. Female Zerg possessiveness. With such an imbalanced sex ratio, some Female Zergs can tolerate their Male Zerg marrying Female Attendants, but cannot tolerate even the tiniest bit of the Male Zerg’s skin being seen by outsiders.]
The Female Zergs discussed it for a long time and ultimately still held little hope of ever seeing the video.
Still, Shamir had said he wanted to film short clips.
They would surely get to see those.
Even if they couldn’t see anything this spicy, getting to watch Shamir’s everyday life would still be good.
Of course, those everyday clips were something for the future.
It was like pheromones dangling right in front of the Female Zergs, irresistibly tempting.
But no matter how desperately they wanted it, they couldn’t see it right now.
For the moment, they could only rely on An-shen’s words to satisfy their cravings.
The Female Zergs continued reading.
