Chapter 331: Male Zerg Celebrity × Arms Dealer (18): 'Why Are You Like a Milk-Jar Beast?'
[Ravens and Shamir actually met before they signed the contract?]
[But Shamir seems to have absolutely no memory of it.]
[“Stayed until the Male Zerg woke up, then left.” What do you call that? You call that doing a good deed and making sure your name gets attached to it! Just moving yourself isn’t enough!]
[Little Shair actually used to get so exhausted that he fell asleep in a public lounge? Capital Star’s public security may be excellent, but you can never completely rule out Zergs with bad intentions. It’s still too dangerous for a young Male Zerg to sleep outside.]
[I can imagine how Ravens must have felt looking at Shamir back then... Such an adorable young Male Zerg, all alone on a foreign planet far from home. It naturally makes you feel a little more protective and tender toward him.
If I saw a Male Zerg like that, I’d probably keep watch over him from a distance too, but I wouldn’t dare approach. If the Male Zerg misunderstood and thought I had bad intentions, then called the law-enforcement team, that would be awkward.]
[Thinking of it that way, I can understand why Ravens left before Shamir woke up. An adult Female Zerg standing guard beside a Male Zerg really would be easy to misunderstand!]
[Stop feeling sorry for Ravens because he “did a good deed without leaving his name.” Later, he used a single contract to bind Shamir directly to his side and eat him up.]
[...Fuck!]
[And now he even dares climb through the window for a secret rendezvous with Shamir!]
Whether there had actually been any “window climbing” was debatable, but the secret rendezvous was real, so his behavior wasn’t that far off.
That only made Shamir’s fans even angrier, and they immediately began calling in reinforcements.
[@Shamir’s Female Father @Female Older Brothers, come control him! There’s a wild Female Zerg climbing through Shair’s window!]
[He almost climbed right into his bed!]
......
[Shamir noticed that his Female Father did not look very happy today. His Male Father sat beside him and gave him a look that clearly said, good luck, you’re on your own.
Had they discovered that he had secretly been drinking?
Shamir felt guilty for a split second.
But he was an adult Male Zerg. He could legally drink alcohol. Surely having just a tiny bit of homemade flower-nectar fruit wine wasn’t a problem?
Maybe it was because of Ravens...
Shamir could more or less guess what had happened.
Judging from the pheromones still lingering inside the house, Ravens might not have left until this morning. It was entirely possible he had run into Shamir’s Female Father.
Besides, trying to have a secret affair right under the nose of a sharp-eyed, sharp-eared Female Zerg was never going to be easy.
Ahem. Though this couldn’t really be called an affair... They hadn’t even done anything.
Why did that feel a little regrettable?
In any case, Shamir absolutely refused to admit to something he hadn’t done!
He politely greeted his Male Father and Female Father, then sat down in his usual chair at the dining table, picked up a slice of bread, and started eating with the appearance of a perfectly obedient baby.
His Female Father didn’t actually say much. He merely announced that security around the farm would be strengthened at night.
Female Zergs viewed their hatchlings through ten thousand layers of filters. Even if the entire world was wrong, it could never possibly be their own precious baby’s fault.
So naturally, the only one at fault could be the wild Female Zerg from outside.
Shamir obediently ate breakfast while his eyes darted around, already thinking about going to see Ravens.
He planned to visit Mr. Ravens in his dormitory.
What had happened last night felt like an opportunity. Once their bodies had touched again, that invisible transparent barrier between them seemed to have shattered as well.
There were many things Shamir wanted to ask Ravens.
......
Sneaking into the Female Zerg dormitory was honestly an outrageous thing to do.
Shamir only had the courage because Mr. Ravens had said before that he lived in a single room.
There weren’t many Zergs around the dormitory area at this hour, and Shamir easily located Ravens by sensing the familiar psychic fluctuations.
He put on a hat and mask, used Psychic Power to give a subtle suggestion, wrapped himself in a layer of psychological invisibility, and quietly slipped inside.
Shamir himself couldn’t say whether this kind of psychological invisibility, which he had only ever tried while filming movies, actually worked.
High-ranking Male Zergs could use this sort of ability with ease, but for a Male Zerg who had only recently risen to B-rank, it still felt extremely unfamiliar.
Using it felt more like a kind of self-suggestion, convincing himself that the other Zergs couldn’t see him.
Under that almost self-hypnotic suggestion, Shamir nevertheless made it safely to Ravens’s door without incident.
He raised a hand and hesitated over whether he should knock.
The door opened in front of him.
Ravens, who was halfway through changing clothes, pulled the door open and stared warily at the suspicious Zerg lurking outside.
The moment he recognized the figure and those familiar mint-colored eyes beneath the brim of the hat, he froze.
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he grabbed Shamir and yanked him inside before the Female Zerg in the room opposite could come out to investigate, then shut the door.
Click.
The door closed and locked.
Shamir found himself trapped between Ravens’s body and the door.
Ravens was still shirtless. His huge muscles and nipple were right in front of Shamir’s face—the very place Shamir had pinched yesterday.
Shamir’s face instantly went red, and even his words started stumbling.
“Mr. Ravens, you—you...”
Ravens followed his gaze and looked down.
Only then did he remember that he had been changing clothes.
He had already taken off the casual clothes he wore last night and was about to change into his farm work uniform when he sensed a Zerg sneaking in suspiciously and stopping outside his door, so he came out to check.
Since this was the Female Zerg dormitory area, he hadn’t thought much of it and had forgotten to put his shirt on first.
Now, seeing Shamir like this, he finally realized that he had just behaved indecently toward a Male Zerg.
He hurriedly stepped back twice to put some distance between them, turned around, quickly pulled on the work uniform lying on the bed, zipped it all the way to the top, fastened the buttons, and covered himself completely.
Shamir watched the familiar muscles disappear beneath the clothes until they were fully hidden.
He felt a little disappointed.
His face was still hot, and the temperature refused to come down.
“Why... are you here? How did you get in here?”
Only after Ravens was completely dressed did he dare turn around and speak to Shamir. He still looked somewhat awkward.
He deliberately tried to keep his distance, but the dormitory room was simply too small.
Even with Shamir standing by the door and Ravens beside the bed, there wasn’t much space between them.
“I just wanted to come see you. Am I not allowed?”
As Shamir spoke, he quietly looked around the room.
It really was cramped, but very clean.
All the necessary furniture was there, but there were almost no decorations. It felt cold and sparse, a little like the military barracks Ravens had mentioned before.
It truly wasn’t the sort of living environment a Male Zerg would normally like.
And yet, perhaps simply because Ravens was standing there beside the bed, Shamir inexplicably felt that this place was nice.
If Ravens invited him to stay overnight, perhaps he would choose to stay.
His thoughts wandered for a second, and Shamir hurriedly dragged them back.
But Ravens’s body had already begun heating up.
The Male Zerg’s faint pheromones surrounded him, carrying a small trace of the Male Zerg himself’s desire.
Ravens’s face, unusually, turned slightly red.
Yet at this moment, all he could do was grit his teeth and endure the throbbing reaction of his body as he spoke to Shamir in an indirect, apologetic tone.
“There’s no pheromone barrier here, and the soundproofing isn’t very good either.”
If they were going to do it, they would need to prepare beforehand.
They would have to set up a pheromone-collection device first, and then they couldn’t make any noise.
Ravens himself could hold back.
But Shamir...
He could not tolerate the thought of anyone else hearing Shamir’s voice.
Shamir realized what Ravens meant and hurriedly pulled back the pheromones he had unconsciously let drift out, waving his hands as he quickly apologized.
“That’s not what I meant.”
He hadn’t come here to sleep with Ravens.
It was only because Ravens’s nipple had just ended up right beside his face, almost against his mouth, that his thoughts had wandered for a second.
He truly hadn’t deliberately come here intending to do anything.
Their gazes met.
In the end, they both had to calm down for a while before they could finally sit and talk.
There was only one chair in the room, so it was given to Shamir.
Ravens could either stand or sit on the bed.
Ravens had originally intended to stand, but when he saw that Shamir had to tilt his head back to look at him—looking up at a Female Zerg who was 197 centimeters tall was a challenge to a Male Zerg’s cervical spine—he hesitated for a moment, then sat down on the edge of the bed.
They had already shared ten years of intimacy.
Sitting opposite one another indoors like this didn’t feel awkward at all.
Instead, there was a natural sense of closeness, like an ordinary pair of Male and Female Zerg lovers spending time together.
Shamir had actually forgotten long ago what he originally came here for.
He only wanted to talk to Ravens.
“You stayed with me all night and didn’t leave until I woke up?” Shamir asked, hugging a throw pillow.
Ravens had taken the pillow out of his spatial button for him.
It was the one from their home.
...Or rather, he supposed he should call it Mr. Ravens’s home.
There were many traces of the two of them living there together, and many belongings that belonged to both of them.
Ravens nodded and did not deny when he had left.
“Thank you for taking care of me all night. I really troubled you.” Shamir looked a little embarrassed.
He hadn’t expected his alcohol tolerance to be so terrible.
Come to think of it, although he had been a celebrity for ten years, he had almost never experienced the sort of drinking parties common in the entertainment industry.
Because Ravens had always protected him.
Even if Shamir did attend some gathering, he could simply hold a glass of juice the entire time.
No Zerg would dare force him into anything.
Shamir had also heard some absurd rumors from within the industry.
For example, some powerful investor had supposedly dropped to his knees and demanded that a Male Zerg whip him, frightening the young Male Zerg celebrity so badly that he burst into tears.
In a certain sense, Ravens’s contract had protected Shamir as well.
Shamir had always known that.
His feelings toward Ravens had always been complicated because of it.
He knew Ravens had only been using him as a tool.
And yet, because he had received Ravens’s protection, he was also grateful to him.
Even after all these years, Shamir still didn’t dislike him.
He simply had no idea how to rein in his own uncontrollable heart.
Ravens said, “Taking care of you is something I should do. No Female Zerg could leave a drunk Male Zerg alone all night.”
Shamir shook his head.
“Nothing is simply ‘something you should do.’ Even if we’re talking about obligations, only a Female Lord or Female Attendant has an obligation to care for their Male Lord.”
Shamir had said something similar while drunk.
But now, completely sober, he asked Ravens:
“Mr. Ravens, the contract is already over. What are we now?”
Ravens’s breath caught.
He stared at Shamir, his gaze flickering as his fingertips rubbed together.
Slowly, he said:
“You’re the farm’s Male Zerg. I’m an employee.”
There was a faintly questioning, tentative tone to his voice.
Shamir remained sitting there, hugging the pillow.
He said nothing.
He was very obviously dissatisfied with that answer.
Ravens wasn’t sure whether they counted as friends.
Pure friendship between a Male Zerg and a Female Zerg was rare to begin with, and it felt even less suitable when applied to the two of them.
Perhaps Shamir might imagine that after peacefully ending their relationship, they could become friends.
But that possibility had never once entered Ravens’s consideration.
Seeing Shamir reject the relationship they ostensibly had on the surface, Ravens slowly rose from the bed, crouched in front of Shamir, and reached out to touch the hand Shamir had resting on his lap around the pillow.
Then he raised his eyes and asked sincerely:
“Can I pursue you?”
It felt as though something had finally settled into place.
Shamir heard his own suspended heart land firmly again.
He had finally received the answer he had been waiting for for so long.
His eyes grew hot as he looked at Ravens.
He should have guessed long ago...
Even if Mr. Ravens liked farm life, there was no reason he had to come to Shamir’s farm.
He had plenty of other places he could go.
Just as Shamir kept his work and private life sharply separated, Ravens did the same.
He would never keep clinging to a Male Zerg who had already left after their contract ended.
Unless he couldn’t bear to let him go.
Unless he had fallen for him.
Shamir’s eyes burned, and the tip of his nose stung.
This had not been one-sided after all.
He was not the only Zerg who had fallen.
There was another Zerg falling with him.
And if someone was falling beside him, then even if what lay below was an abyss, it didn’t seem quite so frightening anymore.
Shamir pulled Ravens toward him and buried himself in his arms.
There was absolutely no way he was going to let Ravens see his tear-streaked face.
The familiar embrace and familiar softness made him feel safe.
The metal zipper was a little annoying, though.
Shamir blinked his damp eyes and rubbed his flushed cheek against Ravens, wiping his tears onto him and soaking the dark blue fabric over Ravens’s chest.
Ravens held him and tried to soothe him, nearly at a complete loss.
He hadn’t expected Shamir to cry.
His mind went utterly blank, and he had no idea what he was supposed to do.
He had never seen Shamir’s tears before.
He had only seen sweat dripping from him in bed.
That always made Ravens want to kiss him.
Ravens kissed away Shamir’s tears and comforted him again and again.
“It was my fault...”
“Don’t be sad... Punish me. However you want. Don’t you like twisting? You can twist me.”
“I bullied you. I shouldn’t have come up with that stupid contract agreement...”
If back then he had simply pursued that Male Zerg directly instead of deciding that Psychic Soothing required some kind of agreement, perhaps they wouldn’t have spent so many years tangled in pain.
But at the time, Ravens hadn’t trusted Male Zergs.
He had barely understood his own emotions either.
He had mistaken attraction and a racing heart for lust and being captivated by beauty, and had used resources and power to seize what he wanted.
He had nearly caused himself to lose everything.
When Shamir heard Ravens say he shouldn’t have made the contract, he immediately became unhappy.
The hand that had been refusing to twist him because he said it wasn’t okay now reached out and twisted him anyway.
“If you didn’t contract me, who were you planning to contract?”
Ravens sucked in a breath and deliberately leaned further into his hand.
“Only you. I should have pursued you.”
Shamir paused.
Realizing what he meant, the pressure of his fingers—which hadn’t been strong to begin with—immediately loosened.
Ravens said he should have pursued him.
Had he already liked Shamir back then?
When they had first met?
But they hadn’t met before.
Ravens should have chosen him after looking over the acting materials Shamir submitted.
Because Shamir’s rank was low and he couldn’t mark Ravens, making him perfectly suitable.
Shamir was still thinking when he felt Ravens deliberately press himself into his hand again.
His face reddened.
He rubbed him gently and apologized in a low voice.
Mr. Ravens’s nipple was slightly inverted.
It looked rather cold and sexually indifferent, just like Mr. Ravens himself had seemed when Shamir first met him.
But if Shamir coaxed it out of its soft protective shell, it would become bright red and drippingly tempting.
At some point, the zipper between those full muscles had been pulled down.
Shamir looked at Ravens, who had been uncovered again, and muttered:
“Why are you like a milk-jar beast?”
Ravens, straddling the chair, instantly went rigid.
Shamir realized he had misspoken.
Comparing a Female Zerg to a milk-jar beast might hurt a Female Zerg’s feelings.
He immediately abandoned the idea of buying a set of milk-jar beast pajamas and apologized at once.
“I said it wrong. What I mean is, it looks really nice. It looks delicious.”
Ravens said nothing.
He simply followed Shamir’s words and let him taste.
In the end, Shamir was hauled back by his Female Father, who had come looking for him with a face as black as thunder.
Before being dragged away, Shamir even shouted that he and Ravens were dating now and his Female Father had no right to interfere with their freedom to fall in love.
His Female Father was furious.
When he looked at Ravens, who was in the middle of putting his clothes back on, his face turned even darker than the bottom of a pot.
But in the end, he had no choice but to relent and allow Ravens to move out of the employee dormitory and into the main house.
There was nothing else he could do.
He couldn’t exactly stand by and watch his Male Zerg son run to the employee dormitory every single day.
What kind of behavior was that?
The instant Shamir heard Ravens would be moving into the main house, his eyes lit up.
Of course, even after Ravens moved into the main house, there was no possibility of him actually sharing a room with Shamir.
They would still have separate rooms.
His Female Father would probably even arrange for Ravens to stay in the guest room farthest away from him.
But they would still be living in the same building.
That meant far more opportunities to see each other.
And walking around a bit at night and ending up sleeping together was perfectly normal.
Surely even his Female Father would turn a blind eye to something like that and stop interfering.
Just thinking about it made Shamir very happy.
Only Shamir’s Female Father became angrier and angrier the more he looked at him.
When he first allowed Ravens onto the farm, he had thought the other Zerg would at least have to work on the farm for anywhere from one to ten years.
Well.
Technically, he was still working.
Except now he was already about to work his way straight into his Male Zerg son’s bed!
It hadn’t even been a month!
As a Female Father, he momentarily couldn’t decide whether he should blame his own Male Zerg son for being too hopeless and too easily coaxed, or blame that Female Zerg for being far too skilled.
His son was definitely innocent.
So naturally, it could only be the Female Zerg’s fault.
It looked like Ravens simply didn’t have enough work to do.
Now that he was moving into the main house, he basically counted as part of the family. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ
Taking responsibility for a few more things was perfectly reasonable, wasn’t it?
The Female Father began thinking about increasing Ravens’s workload.
At the very least, he needed to keep him so busy during the day that he had no time to idle around.
As for nighttime...
Sigh.
