I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison

Chapter 253: Official Announcement: 【My God @An】

Ulysses kissing him outside was completely beyond An Ruo’s expectations.

After all, Ulysses really didn’t seem like the kind of Zerg who would openly act intimate in public.

Although the columns blocked them from view and they weren’t within any Zerg’s line of sight, there were still other Zergs not far away, close enough that they could hear their conversations...

An Ruo felt as though his heart was about to leap straight out of his chest.

Although he found it unexpected, he didn’t think Ulysses was acting out of character.

Ulysses might seem traditional, but there was actually a rebellious side hidden within him. Otherwise, he never would have done all those things in the later parts of the original novel.

This was a major villain capable of establishing a military government, expanding Zerg territory to three times its original size, and, when pushed to extremes, treating Male Zergs as military supplies.

He understood the rules and obeyed the rules, but he also dared to challenge the rules, overturn them, and rebuild them.

Understanding was one thing, but An Ruo was about to combust from embarrassment.

When he finally got a chance to catch his breath, he dazedly raised his eyes toward Ulysses, only to find Ulysses gazing at him with a smile. Under An Ruo’s gaze, he lowered his head and affectionately brushed his lips against the corner of An Ruo’s mouth.

An Ruo couldn’t even stay angry anymore.

Since no Zerg was paying attention to them anyway, he simply relaxed his body, leaned into Ulysses’ embrace, and enjoyed the tranquility of the afternoon.

Ulysses knew just how indulgent his god was toward him.

There were some things his god seemed somewhat reluctant about, but as long as Ulysses took the initiative and coaxed him long enough, his god would eventually agree.

That was how he had obtained each and every one of those kissing lessons, and it was the same now.

He had long since obtained a special favor that not even those protagonists had ever received, even if all of it had come from his own step-by-step scheming.

But feeling the warmth and contentment of the body pressed against his in his arms, Ulysses had no regrets. He was only grateful that he had managed to obtain everything he had now.

He had come into this world alone. And now, €€ had returned to him the Female Parent he had once lost, given him the principal’s affection, given him the lover accompanying him in his arms, and given him the god he was willing to serve for the rest of his life.

Ulysses lowered his head and kissed the hair of the person in his arms.

An Ruo felt a slight tickle and tilted his head, realizing that Ulysses seemed particularly fond of his hair.

It was the same in bed. Ulysses’ gaze was often drawn to his hair, and sometimes he would secretly wind a strand around his finger. Whenever An Ruo leaned over and his hair spilled across Ulysses’ body, Ulysses couldn’t take it, his skin turning pink. And yet he clearly loved the feeling of being enveloped by An Ruo’s hair.

An Ruo understood.

Ulysses had a thing for long, light-colored hair.

When he had previously created his military Female Zerg disguise, he had considered cutting his hair short so that he would look more capable and fit the image of a military Female Zerg better.

At the time, for some inexplicable reason, he had hesitated and ultimately hadn’t gone through with it.

Seeing Ulysses now, he was somewhat glad he hadn’t cut it.

Since Ulysses liked it, he would keep it long for him.

Anyway, in the interstellar era, taking care of long hair wasn’t troublesome.

...

That evening, a picture appeared on the Marshal’s private social media account.

The picture showed two hands clasped together, accompanied by the caption: 【My God @An】.

A swarm of clueless netizens immediately flooded in to watch the drama.

[The Marshal actually posted something? Did something major happen to the Federation... Huh?]

[What does “god” mean? Eh?]

[Whatever, those hands are so pretty. Lick lick lick.]

[Stop licking for a second! The hand is pretty, sure, but look at the style of the uniform around the wrist. Doesn’t that look like a Female Zerg?! A military Female Zerg!]

[(Stunned) (Petrified) (Retracts one lick)]

The slightly larger hand with a thin layer of gun calluses obviously belonged to the Marshal, while the other hand beneath it, fair and lustrous as jade, left the Zergs utterly baffled and sparked endless speculation.

[Why is the Marshal holding a military Female Zerg’s hand? (Shocked)]

[Can a Female Zerg’s hand actually be this pretty?]

[Of course it can, as long as you take care of it—wait, that’s not the point. The point is... the Marshal isn’t a lesbian, is he?!]

[What does “god” mean? Why would the Marshal call a “Female Zerg” his god? (I’m stunned)]

[Is the Marshal publicly coming out and announcing he’s with a Female Zerg? Could this be the truth behind An-shen writing lesbian romance?!]

[Stop making wild guesses... Do none of you read the caption? The answer is literally right there in the question.]

[An. An-shen.]

[Ah, so that’s what “god” means. You scared me (pats little heart).]

[I understand now, I understand. An-shen really is a god (flowers).]

[I didn’t expect An-shen to have this kind of clothing style too. It’s such a huge contrast from before that I didn’t recognize him at first.]

[Marshal × An-shen 999.]

[An-shen looks good in every style. Looking at that hand, I almost thought I’d turned lesbian. Thank goodness, thank goodness. No need to take some medicine (pheromones) to cure myself.]

[But that’s a military uniform. Where did the uniform come from? Is it the Marshal’s clothing? (Curious) (Expectant) (Blushing)]

[Judging by the design, it’s the previous version of the military uniform. The military doesn’t use it anymore, so it really could be one of the Marshal’s old uniforms.]

[An-shen’s novels have also had scenes where Male Zergs wear Female Zerg clothing. Was that actually inspired by real life? So romantic.]

[No wonder the Marshal never reacted despite being @ed so many times before. So this is the truth behind An-shen writing lesbian romance.]

[Looks like the Marshal is also perfectly happy to play “lesbians” with An-shen.]

[Just looking at his hand is enough to turn a Zerg gay. If every Female Zerg had An-shen’s looks and charm, what Zerg could possibly stay straight? Even if he were a real Female Zerg, I’d still be willing (shy).]

[I understand Felix. I understand Lucas.]

...

Cassian saw the Marshal’s post while scrolling through social media after returning home from work.

The instant he saw it, his heart nearly skipped a beat. The hand and the uniform around the wrist in the picture were far too familiar. It was that military Female Zerg from earlier today.

For a moment, he almost thought the Marshal had decided to stop pretending altogether and publicly announce his relationship with that bewitchingly beautiful military Female Zerg.

And his Male Lord, sitting opposite him, had also seen the Marshal’s post.

Cassian raised his eyes toward him. At that instant, his mind began racing, efficiently calculating damage-control measures with the same ability the Speaker of the Council used to handle legislative proposals from across the Federation.

No matter what happened, he absolutely could not allow his Male Lord to become so furious that it harmed his health.

Yet Aira merely puffed out his cheeks, looking a little displeased but not particularly angry, and even saved the picture.

Although he looked as if he were about to open his photo album and crop the image at any moment.

Something was wrong. The Marshal was publicly flaunting his affection with a “Female Zerg.” There was no way Aira could be this calm.

Cassian realized he had overlooked something. He looked at the post again, and once his mind had calmed down, he quickly connected all the clues.

That hand... belonged to An-shen?

That “military Female Zerg” in the Marshal’s office today was An-shen?!

Cassian tried to recall the appearance of the military Female Zerg he had seen earlier that day, but all he could remember was that he had been extraordinarily beautiful. The only thing remaining in his mind was the vague silhouette of someone with exceptional bearing. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t reconstruct the specific features of his face.

Cassian realized that he might have been affected by a Male Zerg’s Psychic Power.

He hadn’t noticed anything at all before. Even after leaving, he hadn’t realized there was anything wrong with his memories. As an S-rank Female Zerg, for him to be influenced so silently and imperceptibly meant that the lord’s Psychic Power was unimaginably powerful.

The “military Female Zerg” he had seen today really was a powerful Male Zerg lord.

It could only have been a Male Zerg lord.

Cassian secretly breathed a sigh of relief. In that case, he no longer had to worry about how to explain things to his Male Lord or how to admonish the Marshal.

But now there was a new problem.

How was he supposed to tell his Male Lord that he had met the “An-shen” he had been longing to see today?

Cassian sighed heavily inwardly.

The Marshal really knew how to create problems for him.

...

After spending an entire day experiencing life as a Female Zerg, An Ruo returned to his little nest in the prison.

He had also seen the post Ulysses made. From taking the picture to publishing it, Ulysses had asked for his permission every step of the way, and An Ruo had agreed.

An Ruo stared absentmindedly at the content on the light screen.

This counted as... an official announcement, right?

An Ruo stared for a while at the two overlapping hands in the picture and felt that something was missing.

A pair of matching rings.

Without them, their hands looked a little bare.

If they added a pair of matching rings, perhaps it would look better.

An Ruo subconsciously opened a StarNet shopping page, intending to order a custom pair of rings, but then realized something and hesitantly backed out.

The current situation wasn’t suitable.

Someone serving a prison sentence had no right to promise another Zerg anything. Giving Ulysses a ring would instead feel like shackling him, demanding that Ulysses wait for him.

That wasn’t right.

Besides, ordering something as important as rings over StarNet didn’t feel sincere enough.

If he ever had the chance, An Ruo wanted to personally choose the main stones offline and personally design and customize the rings.

For now, that probably wasn’t possible.

An Ruo sat silently for a while before opening his chat with Ulysses. He wanted to say something, and his hand moved toward the input panel, but in the end, his fingers curled back. He simply stared blankly at their previous messages.

They had only been apart for a little while, yet he already missed Ulysses.

He missed Ulysses’ kisses, or perhaps simply an ordinary embrace, feeling their hearts beating against each other.

Sure enough, romance only affected his writing speed.

An Ruo covered his face, intending to exit the chat, open his document, and start writing.

But the instant he swiped back, a message from Ulysses arrived.

[Ulysses]: Good night. You’ve been tired all day today, so remember to rest early.

[Ulysses]: Kiss.GIF

Ulysses had actually sent him a cartoon sticker of someone kissing another person on the forehead.

An Ruo was stunned. He had no idea where the Marshal had suddenly searched up an expression like this. It was completely at odds with his entire image.

It was difficult to imagine the perpetually serious Marshal searching for cute stickers.

An Ruo felt that he ought to send something back.

He looked around, ran over to the bed, picked up the Ulysses plushie, gave it a kiss, took a picture, and uploaded it.

[An]: Good night (picture).

It took a while before Ulysses sent another message.

[Ulysses]: Mm... I already know.

Already know what?

An Ruo was puzzled.

The plush fabric on the doll’s face had turned slightly pink, though it wasn’t particularly noticeable beneath the warm-colored lighting of the bedroom at night.

An Ruo gently rested his chin against the top of the plushie’s head.

Sometimes, he could sense Ulysses’ presence through the plushie, as though Ulysses had always been there beside him.

Thinking about it that way, he didn’t feel particularly lonely.

Perhaps Selerus and the other familiar Zergs leaving the prison had made him somewhat sentimental, or perhaps nighttime simply made it easier to overthink things. His emotions seemed unusually exposed today.

An Ruo rubbed the plushie’s little head and ultimately listened to Ulysses’ advice and went to rest early.

Though saying he had been tired all day wasn’t exactly accurate. He might have spent the entire day acting as Ulysses’ “personal guard,” but in reality he hadn’t done any work at all. It was basically the equivalent of spending an easy day having fun with Ulysses accompanying him.

But for a low-energy homebody, “having fun” itself consumed a lot of energy, never mind going out and spending an entire day in an unfamiliar environment.

An Ruo washed up and changed clothes early, climbed into bed, and slept wonderfully while hugging the Ulysses plushie.

It wasn’t until he woke up the next day that he remembered he was supposed to update his novel.

So, as expected, dating really did interfere with creative work.

However, after yesterday’s experience as a Female Zerg and his time with Ulysses, he had gained even more inspiration and insight, and he couldn’t wait to write it all down.

While it still wasn’t time for the daily Psychic Soothing session, An Ruo sat down at his desk in his pajamas and began writing passionately.
