Chapter 115: Philor’s Day in Prison: His Female Lord Is Carrying an Egg in the Military Region Prison and Needs Him

  • Next Chapter

The Military Region Prison! Just hearing the name made it sound like a terrifying place.

The male Zergs there had to receive ten military female Zergs every single day!

Performing psychic soothing for them.

Doing it for a day or two wasn't a big deal.

But every day! Without end! Until the day their sentence was over.

Even Philor thought it was an unimaginably horrifying place.

But his Female Lord was carrying an egg in the Military Region Prison and needed nourishment from his pheromones.

Philor had no choice. For the sake of his Female Lord and their egg, he gathered his courage and submitted an application.

The application was approved very quickly.

His Female Lord's adjutant, who was also one of the family's Female Attendants, personally came to pick him up.

Philor nervously clung to the Female Attendant's arm.

"Will they catch me and make me perform psychic soothing?"

"They won't. Please don't worry. The Military Region Prison doesn't randomly arrest Zergs, nor do they even have the authority to arrest anyone."

The blond Female Attendant patiently comforted his Male Lord.

"They don't have the authority to arrest anyone? Then what about the male Zergs in prison?"

"They were all transferred here after being sentenced by the Tribunal. Only male Zergs who have committed serious crimes are imprisoned in the Military Region Prison to serve their sentences."

The Female Attendant gently continued,

"You haven't committed any crimes. No one can do anything to you. Your Female Lord is here, and so am I."

Hearing that, the law-abiding citizen Philor nodded, feeling much more at ease.

General Cyril was still occupied with other military duties. The Female Attendant escorted his Male Lord to the General's quarters and stayed with him for a while.

Once he estimated that his Female Lord would be back soon, he found an excuse to leave.

When Cyril returned to his quarters and pushed open the door, the first thing he saw was the pink-haired male Zerg sitting on his bed.

"It's so small here! Even the bed is tiny!"

Having never lived in such a cramped place before, Philor immediately complained.

"It's temporary housing."

Cyril explained as he casually closed the door and removed his coat.

"The Military Region Prison is overflowing with Zergs right now. Being able to free up a room like this for me is already quite good."

Several prisoners suffering from psychic riots had been transferred here from other military regions.

Some prison cells were also being remodeled, with upgraded defenses to house female Zergs undergoing psychic riots.

The ordinary male Zerg psychic soothers had already been reassigned to other military regions, leaving only a single psychic soother in the First Military Region Prison.

That Lord possessed the largest room in the entire prison.

Three rooms had been combined into one exclusively for him, with an entire ring of separate rooms left vacant around him as backup. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he occupied an entire floor by himself—the other male Zergs who had once lived on that floor had all been relocated, and only male Zergs were permitted to stay there.

He even had his own private outdoor garden, covering an area comparable to a small park.

Compared to that, Cyril's quarters were downright cramped.

Philor covered his mouth in horror.

The prison was overflowing with Zergs.

What a terrifying phrase.

It made him feel as though vicious violent criminals were lurking everywhere, ready to smash through the walls and drag him away.

Seeing that he had frightened him, Cyril walked over, intending to pat his head in comfort.

Remembering something, his outstretched hand froze halfway before quietly withdrawing.

Instead, he simply said,

"Don't be afraid. The Military Region Prison may look dangerous, but it's actually very safe."

No one would risk that Lord's safety.

The security level here was the highest in the entire Federation—even higher than the Marshal's.

Though, of course, the Marshal didn't require special protection.

That only made it sound even more dangerous.

Philor complained inwardly.

Still, being beside his Female Lord meant he wasn't actually that scared.

He knew how powerful his Female Lord was.

He also knew that no matter what happened, his Female Lord would protect him.

But...

Why hadn't his Female Lord patted him?

Philor looked questioningly at the hand Cyril had withdrawn.

Seeing that his emotions had settled down, Cyril began undressing as he headed toward the bathroom.

He had gotten into a fight with a particularly troublesome prisoner and had gotten some filth on himself...

Tomorrow he would have to write a report to the Marshal explaining why he had fought with the Marshal's female parent. Just thinking about it gave him a headache.

Philor suspiciously followed after him.

"D-Don't touch me. I'm dirty."

Cyril tried to avoid him, but the room was already small, and the bathroom was even smaller. With two Zergs squeezed inside, there was nowhere to retreat.

"Dirty where? Why can't I find it?"

Philor leaned in and sniffed all over him.

He couldn't detect any suspicious scent.

Instead, he found himself getting dizzy from his Female Lord's pheromones.

The First Military Region Prison housed the male Zerg reputed to be the most beautiful high-ranking male in the entire Zerg race, and he was also a psychic soother. His Female Lord happened to appreciate beautiful faces, so naturally Philor had to inspect him thoroughly.

"I have to check below too. Hurry, let me inspect it!"

Philor tried his best to put on a stern expression, assuming the authority of a Male Lord as he gave the order.

In reality, he was bluffing. If his Female Lord simply gave him a cold glance, he'd immediately lose his nerve.

But his Female Lord cooperatively let him inspect.

He searched with great care, leaving no corner unchecked.

Only after his Female Lord was covered from head to toe with his scent did he finally wrap his arms around him in satisfaction.

Resting his head against his Female Lord's chest, Philor discovered that a small room and a small bed had their own advantages.

Their pheromones remained trapped inside the room, blending together into an especially pleasant scent.

The small bed let him snuggle tightly against his Female Lord.

He could even lie directly on top of him.

Though he had to avoid his stomach.

Not that his weight meant anything at all to his Female Lord.

Even so, Philor remained extremely careful.

"Tell me about the prison. And that Lord—have you met him? What's he like?"

"The prison..."

"It's just the usual."

There were many difficult prisoners, and each of them had once held impressive military ranks, making them hard to manage.

In front of them, the psychic soother's words carried more weight than his own.

"As for that Lord..."

Cyril thought for a moment before saying,

"He's actually quite easy to get along with."

Strangely enough, that Lord remained extremely distant toward everyone else, even displaying an obvious reluctance to make physical contact.

Only toward him and Uriel was he noticeably more approachable.

Uriel made sense.

After all, Uriel had taken care of that Lord for so long, handling every aspect of his daily life.

But why had he himself received that Lord's favor?

As far as he knew, they had only met once before, during the Legion Grand Ceremony.

That Lord's seat had happened to be directly in front of theirs.

Or perhaps...

There was another reason.

Cyril remembered accompanying Uriel that morning to pick up that Lord.

Through the half-open door, he had caught a brief glimpse inside.

Although the door had closed almost immediately and he hadn't seen everything, he was certain he had seen pictures of himself, the Marshal, and Iso on the wall.

They were news photographs taken after returning victorious from an expedition, cut out and projected onto the wall.

The Marshal occupied a particularly large portion.

Thinking about the relationship between that Lord and the Marshal left Cyril with mixed feelings.

Things had already become so strained between them.

So why was there still a poster featuring the Marshal hanging on the wall?

Besides that, he had also spotted a family photograph of his own son, Hill, together with his family of three.

At that moment, Cyril finally figured it out.

That Lord was a fan of An-shen's novels.

But...

He didn't even have that photograph of Hill himself.

Where had that Lord gotten it?

Now he wanted one too.

Seeing his Female Lord praising another male Zerg while wearing such a wistful expression, Philor immediately became jealous and fiercely bit him on the chest.

"What was that for?"

Cyril looked at him in confusion.

The egg wouldn't hatch for several more months.

It was still much too early if he wanted to eat anything.

"You're not allowed to think about other male Zergs!"

Philor puffed out his cheeks angrily.

Especially since that male was so beautiful that he made Philor feel threatened.

Not understanding what had happened, Cyril still explained,

"I was thinking about Hill... That Lord seems to be a fan of An's novels. He's probably also a fan of Hill."

Especially considering he even had a photograph of Hill that Cyril himself didn't possess.

The hatchling enthusiast quietly felt jealous.

"An-shen's fan? And Hill too?"

The moment he heard that, Philor's opinion of that Lord shot straight up.

How could anyone who liked An-shen and Hill possibly be a bad Zerg?

"Can I meet him?"

Philor asked expectantly.

"I also want to ask him about group psychic soothing."

Come to think of it, that Lord could even be considered his "teacher."

"No."

Cyril rejected him mercilessly.

"That Lord doesn't like going outside and refuses all visitation requests. Other than during psychic soothing sessions, even I can't see him."

"Oh..."

Philor sighed in disappointment.

...

Meanwhile, in the only male Zerg prison room.

An Ruo sat at his desk and took out the painting Hill had given him.

It was one of Hill's works, inheriting Hill's signature abstract style.

The colors were extraordinarily brilliant, allowing anyone to feel just how intense Hill's emotions had been while creating it.

And because An Ruo possessed exceptionally powerful psychic abilities as a male Zerg, he could read far more from the lingering psychic power left within the painting.

A sea of stars.

Aboard a starship.

A male artist who had encountered star pirates while traveling to paint from life.

A female Zerg Major leading troops to wipe out those pirates.

That was how they had met in another possible reality.

It was also the parallel world Hill had told him about.
