I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison
Chapter 110: Two-Viewer Mode: "Then... Let’s Get Married." An Ruo Heard Himself Say
A pop-up window appeared.
Without paying attention, An Ruo casually tapped it.
By the time he realized what it was...
There was suddenly a Ulysses sitting beside him.
"??!"
An Ruo stared in horror at the Marshal, who had appeared out of thin air.
At that exact moment, Ulysses turned to look at him as well. Upon discovering him seated at the neighboring table, the Marshal's originally stern expression instantly softened. Smiling faintly, he inclined his head toward him.
An Ruo: "..."
For some reason...
He suddenly wanted to run away.
Probably because watching a two-viewer movie together was just too embarrassing.
Still, this wasn't too bad.
The two of them were simply watching Xi'an and Claire fall in love together.
They weren't personally stepping into the story themselves.
"...How did you get here?" An Ruo asked stiffly.
"Watching a movie alone is rather boring, isn't it?"
As he spoke, Ulysses walked over, gestured toward the seat opposite him, and asked,
"May I sit here?"
Since he had already agreed to let him in, An Ruo couldn't exactly refuse now.
He could only curse his own reckless hand for randomly tapping buttons while nodding helplessly, allowing Ulysses to sit across from him and officially begin this two-viewer movie experience.
An Ruo fixed his eyes on Xi'an and Claire, pretending he was completely absorbed in the movie.
But it was difficult to ignore such an enormous living Zerg sitting right beside him.
Although Ulysses appeared to be watching the movie...
His attention was entirely on the male beside him.
Seeing the male watching so intently, utterly absorbed, without sparing him even a single glance...
A trace of irritation couldn't help rising within him.
He began regretting sending that invitation.
Whether someone loved you or not...
It was painfully obvious.
He had always known how much the divine being cared about those protagonists.
He had always known he himself was the unloved one.
There had never been anything to compare.
Yet he had still chosen to witness it with his own eyes.
He was simply making himself miserable.
If he were still a hot-blooded young military female, he would probably head straight for the training grounds to cool off.
Or perhaps outer space.
But Ulysses, who had already become Marshal, possessed considerably greater self-restraint.
An Ruo kept feeling as though the Zerg beside him was radiating cold air.
Perhaps the theater's air conditioning had simply been turned up too high.
It felt freezing.
Quietly, An Ruo wrapped his arms around himself.
Noticing the movement, Ulysses suddenly said,
"Would you like to try first-person viewing? You can even drink their beverages."
"Huh?"
An Ruo had intended to refuse immediately...
But the latter half of that sentence genuinely tempted him.
Could you actually taste the food inside the movie?
There was, in fact, food on their own table as well.
It had been specially prepared for the audience, little hidden surprises included in many movies.
But the male apparently assumed they were merely decorations or props.
Ulysses had no intention of pointing that out.
Instead, he continued persuading him.
"Give it a try. It's part of the movie experience."
An Ruo really was convinced.
After all, this was a film adaptation of his own novel.
He wanted to experience it as completely as possible.
"...All right."
In the end, An Ruo decided to give it a try.
Opening the control panel, he switched himself into first-person mode.
Ulysses immediately switched as well.
After a brief transition...
An Ruo found himself inside Xi'an's body.
The sensation was exactly as though he had become Xi'an.
Standing before him...
"Claire," who had been speaking only a moment ago...
Suddenly transformed into Ulysses.
Black hair.
Silver eyes.
Handsome.
Dignified.
Still wearing Claire's clothes.
"?!!"
An Ruo was so shocked his eyes nearly popped out.
If he hadn't been inside Xi'an's body and restricted by the actor's programmed expressions, he would have become a walking reaction meme on the spot.
Seeming to notice his surprise, Ulysses explained,
"You can upload your own appearance to replace the protagonist's model. You can try it as well."
There was no way Ulysses intended to interact with the divine being while wearing Claire's face.
Whom exactly was the divine being seeing through him?
An Ruo tried replacing his own appearance.
His long platinum hair woven into intricate braids immediately appeared.
The mask, however, was gone.
His clothing remained Xi'an's outfit.
He understood now.
The movie allowed players to replace the character model.
The hairstyle belonged to the model itself.
Clothing and accessories did not.
Those remained tied to the movie character.
An Ruo found the system fascinating.
Borrowing the male protagonist's actions, he picked up the drink and tasted it.
Cold.
Refreshing.
Strawberry-flavored.
Delicious.
Strangely enough...
Just moments ago the surroundings had felt icy.
Now that he was drinking something cold, the temperature actually seemed to become warmer.
The only awkward part...
Was that the female protagonist with Ulysses' appearance sitting opposite him...
Was faithfully following the movie script.
Talking about marriage.
"I'm getting married."
Hearing those words come out of Ulysses' mouth...
Was honestly terrifying.
Then An Ruo heard himself ask,
"So you've already decided? Marriage?"
"Not yet.
"But it's only a matter of time."
Ulysses calmly continued reciting Claire's dialogue.
The disconnect was overwhelming.
Looking at Ulysses' handsome face, An Ruo genuinely had no idea how he managed to endure this.
"What expectations or requirements do you have regarding marriage... and Male Zergs?"
An Ruo spoke Xi'an's lines.
He didn't want to.
But movies only allowed audiences to experience the story.
He couldn't alter the protagonists' dialogue or actions.
At most, he could slightly change subtle facial expressions.
He felt as though he and the Marshal were two AI programs talking to each other.
The Marshal-AI opposite him answered,
"I have no requirements."
It made An Ruo desperately want to argue.
How could you have no requirements?
Marriage should be approached with great caution!
Even as the novel's author, he had to admit...
Far too many Zerg marriages ended disastrously.
For Female Zergs...
Finding a Male Zerg was like walking through a minefield.
And yet countless Female Zergs rushed into that minefield willingly.
Finding one that didn't explode was already difficult.
Finding one who was genuinely compatible in every way...
Was even harder.
The Marshal's previous marriage was the perfect example.
That marriage...
Had only occupied a single sentence in his original novel.
An Ruo didn't know what had truly happened.
But he had personally witnessed...
And personally experienced...
Its final outcome.
The judge's gavel striking down.
The courtroom collapsing into shattered ruins.
"Then..."
An Ruo heard himself say,
"...Let's get married!"
An Ruo froze.
Looking toward Ulysses opposite him...
He found the other's expression equally stunned.
Of course...
It was Claire's expression.
This was all part of Xi'an and Claire's original dialogue and storyline.
The sudden surge of embarrassment and panic sent An Ruo fleeing immediately.
He exited first-person mode.
Returning to the neighboring table.
He let out a long breath, patted his chest, and slowly calmed himself.
Ulysses: "..."
The male had left.
He had no desire whatsoever to continue experiencing the story while staring at Xi'an's face.
He exited immediately as well.
Returning to the seat opposite An Ruo, Ulysses looked at the male, who appeared genuinely frightened, and asked with concern,
"Are you all right?"
"I'm fine...
"I think I still prefer watching movies like this.
"Just watching them interact."
Instead of participating personally.
"I understand."
Ulysses lowered his eyes, concealing the darkness within them.
The divine being still preferred watching Xi'an and Claire...
Rather than watching him.
Even when he borrowed Claire's performance as a template...
It still felt awkward and out of place.
The theater's air conditioning seemed to become cold again...
Quietly hugging himself, An Ruo cried rivers of metaphorical tears inside.
Was this an open-air theater...
Or a refrigerated warehouse?
...
Elsewhere.
The real Xi'an and Claire.
The two protagonists—and stars of the movie—were happily enjoying their own film together.
Naturally, couples watched in Two-Viewer Mode.
Xi'an first experienced everything from his own protagonist's perspective.
He quickly grew bored and insisted on switching with Claire.
Claire could only agree.
Inside each other's bodies...
Viewing everything through each other's eyes...
They genuinely experienced each other's emotions firsthand.
"You actually thought I was going to marry you as my female slave?
"And you even thought I'd brand my mark onto... your private parts?!"
Xi'an cried out in horror.
He had read the novel.
But he'd always assumed those inner monologues had been exaggerated.
Yet Claire had actually planned exactly where Xi'an's mark would be branded.
His chest.
His waist.
His thighs.
His back.
Or perhaps...
His wings.
Even Xi'an himself had never imagined there were so many possibilities.
Hearing Claire's thoughts directly...
Left him completely dumbfounded.
Claire was so embarrassed he didn't even know how to explain himself.
"At the time...
"I thought...
"You only wanted revenge against me."
"Exactly!
"I used the position of Female Lord and Psychic Soothing to take my revenge on you!
"I'd just fuck you senseless all over the place!"
Xi'an snapped angrily.
Of course...
He didn't deny that he really had wanted revenge back then.
Love and resentment had become so tangled together...
That even he himself could no longer distinguish between them.
Fortunately...
In the end they had come together.
Opened their hearts.
Accepted each other completely.
That novel...
And this movie...
Allowed them to understand one another even more deeply.
Claire was no longer as insecure and anxious as before.
Hearing Xi'an's words...
He apologized while the tips of his ears slowly turned red.
Although they were using each other's perspectives...
Both still wore their own appearances.
Seeing Claire like that...
Xi'an couldn't help wanting to do something a little more suggestive.
Quietly, he dragged the progress bar forward.
Directly to their wedding night.
Only after jumping there did he remember...
They hadn't actually slept together on their first night.
But the scene had already begun.
Xi'an looked down.
He found himself wearing a bathrobe...
Kneeling outside the bedroom door.
Xi'an: "?"
Only then did he realize...
This was Claire's storyline.
He was still experiencing Claire's perspective.
Before Xi'an had time to react...
Someone had already helped him to his feet.
Claire panicked.
He looked even more alarmed than Xi'an himself.
Immediately demanding they switch back.
Xi'an refused.
"It's fine.
"We weren't going to sleep together this time anyway.
"I want to experience the suffering you felt after smelling my pheromones."
He had already prepared himself mentally.
The result...
Was that he couldn't experience it at all.
At the original point in time, Claire was still suffering the aftereffects of pheromone addiction withdrawal therapy.
The mere scent of Xi'an's pheromones would trigger a stress response.
But during the filming of the movie...
Claire had already completely recovered.
Now, smelling Xi'an's pheromones only made him want to throw Xi'an onto the bed and have him.
It had taken considerable effort just to act as though he were struggling in pain and resisting.
Inside...
He was thrilled.
He wanted him desperately.
Experiencing all those feelings firsthand from Claire's perspective...
Xi'an: "..."
His entire mind was flooded with the desires of a Female Zerg.
Along with overwhelming affection directed toward [N O V E L I G H T] the Male Zerg before him.
Silently...
Xi'an switched back with Claire.
Returning to his own perspective.
Otherwise...
It was simply too strange.
After all...
He had absolutely no desire to be fucked by a Male Zerg—
Even if that "Male Zerg" happened to be both himself...
And Claire.
...
Originally, Hill and Iso had planned to watch the family version together with Isidore.
But Isidore insisted that romantic movies between Female and Male Zergs should be watched by the two adults.
He wanted to watch the hatchling version by himself.
Hill and Iso had no choice but to agree.
The moment they entered the movie...
Hill's psychic perception and Iso's enhanced senses simultaneously detected something.
The Isidore sitting in the neighboring seat...
Had slipped away.
Hill and Iso: "..."
"Forget it.
"Let him go."
Iso said,
"He's almost fourteen now.
"He's close to adulthood and capable of protecting himself.
"There are military females stationed everywhere throughout the Legion Gala.
"He'll be fine."
A fourteen-year-old female hatchling already possessed formidable combat ability.
Not to mention...
Isidore's situation was special.
His psychological age was actually older than his physical age.
Treating him like a tiny hatchling forever wasn't appropriate.
Hill remained worried.
But eventually nodded, agreeing with Iso.
...
Meanwhile.
An Ruo and Ulysses continued watching Xi'an and Claire inside the movie.
Their blind date.
Their marriage registration.
Their wedding night.
Their training sessions.
Their sparring matches.
Their desensitization therapy.
And of course...
Their sparring inside the training room.
Being dragged into the bathroom to cool down beneath freezing water.
And...
Spanking.
An Ruo's jaw nearly hit the floor.
He had never imagined...
They would actually film scenes like that.
Xi'an and Claire were military Male and Female Zergs!
Wasn't that sacrificing a little too much for art?
Although Xi'an's body blocked most of Claire from view...
And Claire also appeared to be wearing trousers for protection...
The spanking was absolutely real.
An Ruo didn't dare look in that direction at all.
Yet the crisp...
Then muffled...
Sounds of palm striking flesh continued echoing throughout the bathroom.
Making him desperately want to crawl into a crack in the ground.
The most embarrassing part...
Was that Marshal Ulysses was sitting right beside him.
How was this any different from watching an intimate scene on television while someone else was in the room?
Except that this someone...
Was practically the head of state.
The embarrassment made An Ruo's scalp go numb.
He wished he could simply die on the spot.
Meanwhile...
Ulysses stared intently at the two Zergs beneath the shower.
With the seriousness of someone studying a tactical lesson...
He carefully analyzed every detail.
So...
This was what males liked?
The scene had been written by the divine being himself.
Ulysses frowned slightly.
Silently examining everything before him.
Thoughtful contemplation flickered through his silver eyes.
