Gyeol knew perfectly well what Yo Han’s first wish was.

A small mountain bird chirped somewhere nearby. Wind swept through the woods, sending the branches rustling wildly. The umbrella overhead fluttered several times as its taut ribs strained against the gusts.

At some point, Yo Han’s hand had begun sliding down the back of Gyeol’s neck.

His hot palm left a brand behind. Every place it touched seemed to burn. It grazed his collarbone, reached his shoulder, and closed around it tightly.

Before the hand could move any lower, Gyeol lightly pushed against the inside of Yo Han’s wrist with the back of his hand.

“Ask permission before you touch me from now on.”

He deliberately spoke in a joking tone, then applied enough pressure to make Yo Han’s hand fall away. The gesture might have appeared light from the outside, but it was unmistakably a rejection.

Yo Han watched him in silence, then obediently lowered his hand.

“Sorry.”

His expression seemed too complicated for the apology to refer only to what had just happened. Gyeol did not like seeing that look on his face. It seemed to contain too many tangled emotions and unspoken words. That careful gaze did not suit Yo Han. It confused Gyeol, and he felt that if he looked at it too long, his resolve might weaken.

Turning his eyes toward the woods, Gyeol changed the subject.

“Did you sleep well last night?”

The answer left Gyeol speechless. Yo Han had always had a talent for robbing people of a response, but it seemed to have grown much worse over the past few days.

The events of the previous day unspooled through Gyeol’s mind like a strip of film.

How was anyone supposed to know what expression or answer to give when a major star said something like that openly in front of cameras?

It lay outside the realm of calculation. It would have been difficult even if Gyeol had been given ample time to work out an answer, and now he had almost none.

He wished they could speak honestly instead. He wanted to get away from the cameras, question Yo Han about everything, demand to know why he was acting this way, and pour out his own feelings.

But there would be no opportunity now. The Golden Date was over, and so was the free time included with it.

If Gyeol wanted to have a completely honest conversation with Yo Han, he would have to meet him again after filming ended.

From the outside, Yo Han seemed to be the one revealing everything, charging straight ahead, exposing his desperation, and constantly leaving Gyeol without words. But in truth, the balance of their relationship had already tipped.

Yo Han tucked his chin slightly and lifted the corners of his mouth. His eyes curved with the smile, creating an undeniably captivating expression. Even someone who disliked him—even another Alpha—could never dismiss Yo Han as unattractive. His beauty was too unreal for that.
