Chapter 2529: Bipolar God Tiana ⑫
In the end, Kuro joined us, and the three of us ended up having tea together. However, something from the exchange with Kuro earlier had been bothering me a little, so I decided to ask about it.
[Even so, judging from what Canalis-san told me and the way Kuro reacted, Tiana-san must really be incredibly strong.]
[H- Hmmm, well, I do think I’m fairly strong, but once you’re at the Omniscient-and-Omnipotent class or above, there’s not much point in comparing strength. Beings at this level rarely even start fights in the first place. Though among people you know, Makina-chan is also extremely strong. Well, her strength is more defense-oriented, so it might not be obvious at a glance……]
[Earth God? My impression was that she was about on the same level as Canalis-san and Electrone-san. Does that mean she’s actually above them?]
[Yeah. If it’s Canalis and Electrone, I don’t think they have any winning line against Makina-chan. Though like I said earlier, Makina-chan’s strength leans toward defense, so even if she could win, it would probably take an enormous amount of time.]
According to Tiana-san, Makina-san is clearly on a higher level than Canalis-san and Electrone-san. Kuro looked surprised, but honestly, I had thought they were about the same level too.
Ah, but now that I think about it, I vaguely remember Makina-san saying something like “There’s no better term for it, so people call it the Omniscient-and-Omnipotent class, but I’m actually above that.”, so in reality, she probably really is above that level.
Well, from my perspective, the difference in power is so absurdly large that I can’t even perceive the gap anyway……
[Makina-chan entrusted the authority over her own existence to someone else. You could say she’s handed over the right of life and death over herself…… To put it extremely, Makina-chan is absolutely powerless against that one person. The person she entrusted that authority to could erase Makina-chan as easily as plucking a flower. And in a way, I think Makina-chan would consider it her greatest wish if that person were the one to end her.]
[She entrusted the right over her life and death to someone else……]
[And that, in turn, creates an unbelievably strong defense. The only one who can erase Makina-chan is the single person who holds that authority. Everyone else, even “Makina-chan herself”, is unable to interfere with her true existence or erase it. Explaining it in detail gets complicated, so to put it roughly…… if Makina-chan, who’s at the Omniscient-and-Omnipotent class, can’t do it, then other beings at that level can’t either. That condition establishes an incredibly powerful defense over her existence. If she had entrusted it to something like a follower, someone who’d definitely side with her, or if it had been done with calculation in mind, it wouldn’t be nearly this strong. But Makina-chan entrusted the authority over her existence the very moment she became a god, giving it to someone she truly loved and trusted from the bottom of her heart. She wished that if she ever strayed from the right path, that person would end her without hesitation, and she would gladly accept it. That absolute trust and immense love are what allowed this miracle-like defense to come into existence.]
If I had to guess, that person was probably Alice. Makina-san places absolute trust in Alice. So much so that if Alice truly judged that she should be eliminated, Makina-san would probably accept it with a smile…… And because of that absolute trust, Makina-san ended up gaining a defensive ability so strong that even Tiana-san calls it unbelievably solid. Though it was probably not something she intentionally obtained, it just happened as a result……
[That’s why Makina-chan is extremely strong. Even I’d have to get pretty serious to break through that defense.]
[……Ah, so you can break through it.]
[I think I could…… but if I unleashed an attack on that scale, it would probably drag hundreds of millions of worlds down with it. It’s not the kind of attack I can pull off while holding back or suppressing the aftereffects. So if Makina-chan and I actually fought…… I think I’d win about 80% of the time. But there’s maybe a 20% chance I’d end up losing because I couldn’t bring myself to go all out without worrying about collateral damage, and the fight would drag on until I got pushed into a disadvantage. You see, I’m a bit indecisive sometimes.]
Tiana-san said this with a wry smile. In other words, if she fought seriously she would win 100%, but because her power is so overwhelming that fighting seriously would cause horrific collateral damage, kindhearted Tiana-san might hesitate to go all out and gradually lose the advantage.
[Hmmm, hearing it like that, you really are ridiculously strong, Tiana-san.]
[Well, even so, my power is still within the scope of “strength”. I’d lose to Shallow Vernal 100% of the time.]
[That’s because of that unfair ability, right?]
[Unn. Epilogue isn’t something that falls within the categories of strong or weak. Even with omniscience, you can’t understand it or even perceive it. What kind of power it is, how it moves, how it affects things, aside from what’s been passed down by word of mouth, nothing about it can be known. And something you can’t understand can’t be defended against, nor resisted…… well, It’s simply beyond discussion.]
Epilogue should refer to the incredible power that Shiro-san possesses. And if even Tiana-san says this much about it, then it must be a completely absurd power that stands on an entirely different dimension even compared to the Omniscient-and-Omnipotent class.
……Thinking back, that wyvern that had it fired at it almost like a mere performance piece is starting to seem really pitiful.
<Afterword>
Makina : [Epilogue is a power that lies completely outside the realm where abilities can even be compared, an utterly absurd force. Even those of us who possess omniscience, myself included, have no idea what kind of power it actually is. We only know, as a “result”, that it’s a power capable of ending everything. We can’t detect its activation, can’t see it, and can’t understand it. That’s why even I, who possess omniscience, was surprised when Shallow Vernal revived Nebula.]
Serious-senpai : [Come to think of it, when it was used during the housewarming party, Alice and the others also said they “couldn’t understand anything”. So it’s basically the ultimate form of a kill-by-the-unknown kind of ability……]
Makina : [The only one who understands Epilogue is Shallow Vernal…… though apparently, even Shallow Vernal doesn’t know about Little Epilogue. So maybe the only thing that truly understands Epilogue is Epilogue itself.]
