Chapter 2339: The Promised Tea Party ⑧
While chatting as we walked, I suddenly remembered something and called out to Eris-san.
[Come to think of it, Eris-san, errr…… I brought a little gift of sorts. Would it be alright if I gave it to you now?]
[Eh? A gift?]
[Yes. Since you were kind enough to invite me, I thought I should bring something, so I consulted Canalis-san. She prepared one of the new products that Nifty plans to handle, so I brought that along.]
[Hyiiih…… T- Thank you so much for the courtesy. B- But, um…… would this perhaps be one of the rather expensive items?]
[No, not at all. Apparently, it was made with the concept of being affordable and easy to buy. Canalis-san said bringing something too expensive might embarrass the host, so she picked something in the lower price range but still flashy in appearance…… here it is.]
Nifty is a tea specialty shop with a luxury focus, but it seems they’re also planning to expand with items that are more affordable. What I brought was one of those.
Incidentally, Nebula and Illness-san had nothing to do with this one. It was a product planned and created by Canalis-san herself.
[What a very lovely and charming box. Pardon me for asking, but what exactly is inside?]
[It’s an assortment of unusually shaped sugar cubes. Nothing with any special effects or unique production method, just a design-focused item that takes popular monsters as motifs, making them colorful and cute. Errr, there are three jars like this, the see-through kind.]The sugar cube set Canalis-san prepared didn’t have any special gimmicks like the crafted sugar Nebula made. It was simply sugar molded into the shapes and colors of popular monsters, with cute, fanciful designs.
Things like Funny Rabbits and Petite Devis were so well-made you could recognize them at a glance. Sieg-san, who likes animals, and Luna-san, who loves cute things, praised them highly.
[These are remarkably detailed designs.]
[They really are. The craftsmanship is quite intricate, and I can see them becoming popular…… but this must take a lot of effort to make, right? Wouldn’t that make them rather expensive? You’re planning to sell this as a low-priced item?]
[Canalis-san said “With godly power, I made a tool that molds them as long as you put sugar in. So basically, the cost is zero.”]
[That person…… having such a working in business, she’s honestly on a completely unfair level……]
Canalis-san, who can ignore costs and such entirely, was, from Kuro’s perspective, a cheat-like existence. He gave a wry smile with a hint of exasperation.
Still, Canalis-san is only responsible for Nifty. She doesn’t handle negotiations with other trading companies, or deals with the shops and merchants Anima works with. She has the good sense to refrain from interfering in those areas with her omnipotence, so there’s essentially no problem.
As for Nifty, it seems Canalis-san has free rein within the scope of permission granted by Shiro-san……
[Well, in any case, thank you very much for the lovely gift.]
[I’m glad you liked it. I actually brought extras, thinking it might be nice if I had a chance to give some to the other participants as well…… but would it be better not to do that?]
[No, that falls under my discretion as the host. To avoid causing trouble, I did tell the other participants not to bring gifts for Kaito-sama to the tea party. But if Kaito-sama wishes to hand things out yourself, there’s no problem. I believe everyone would be delighted.]
[In that case, would it be alright if I gave them out towards the end of the tea party?]
[Yes, that would be perfectly fine.]
Since I had Eris-san’s permission, I decided I’d hand out the sugar cubes to the participants later. There were supposed to be 8 people, so the amount I brought should be enough.
Well, actually, Canalis-san said “If it turns out not to be enough, just call out in some random direction and I’ll deliver more instantly with Godly Shipping, so you don’t have to worry”, so even if we ran out, it really wouldn’t be a problem.
[Ah, I can see it now. Is it over there? ……Oya?]
[Yes, that terrace is today’s venue.]
[I see…… Unn?]
[……Please don’t mind it. It’s understandable that things turned out that way……]
Circling around what seemed to be the detached mansion, we stepped into what looked like a courtyard. There I could see a gathering of people, marking the location of the tea party.
But something felt off…… or at least caught my attention. There was no doubt that the ones gathered were noble ladies, the other participants. But…… they were all standing in an incredibly neat and orderly formation, waiting…… Why would they…… ah, right! It’s because Kuro is here……
<Afterword>
Serious-senpai : [Well yeah, even if it’s within the scope Shiro allowed, being a God who can basically make anything and mass-produce it at will is a total foul play in the business world…… It’s only because she wields her Godly power solely on the walking extraterritoriality Kaito’s tea brand———- which he treats more of a hobby———- that it hasn’t become a problem……]
