Sitting side by side on the beach, watching the slowly setting sun sink into the horizon, I put my arm around Shiro-san’s shoulder. After finishing the princess carry, we decided to go through with the situation Shiro-san had requested, just to fulfill her wish.

Of course, the “chasing followed by an accidental stumble” scenario was a bit too difficult to pull off, so we settled for the simpler one: sitting together and watching the sunset.

We had only changed the scenery to sunset mode, so not much actual time had passed, but still, the crimson sky and sea carried a certain wistful atmosphere.

It had all been a spur-of-the-moment thing, but looking back on today…… no, wait, hold on, that’s not it.

Come to think of it, we weren’t here for a beach date in the first place, it was just a break during the birthday party, right!?

Just as we were about to end it, I remembered there was still one thing left to do. No, I figured it was better to properly fulfill her wish all the way through. I shifted slightly, cupped Shiro-san’s cheek with my hand…… and gently pressed my lips to hers in a soft kiss.

Saying that, Shiro-san gave me a joyful smile. She was probably glad that I took the initiative. That dazzling, beautiful smile of hers, full of happiness, just watching it makes me feel happy too.

As my consciousness slowly rose from the haze of sleep, the first thing I saw was Shiro-san’s face watching over me, and the ceiling of the break room that I had last seen before dozing off.

Apparently, Shiro-san had removed my fatigue. It was only supposed to be a short nap, but my body felt as refreshed as if I’d slept soundly through the entire night.

I’d be receiving a mountain of presents from now on, so it was definitely a blessing to be in top physical and mental shape.

As I sat up and checked the time, I saw that there were about 7 minutes left until the break ended.

When the break first started, Shiro-san had seemed a bit displeased, saying it was unfair. But now, she looked completely content. ……Huh? That’s odd. Shiro-san is clearly saying that out of pure goodwill, and her helping out shouldn’t lead to anything weird…… So why is it that I can already picture Lilia-san clutching her stomach in pain……?
