Qiao Xixi walked over. The man before her was disheveled and filthy, his face so gaunt it was just skin and bones. If not for the faint outline of his features, she wouldn’t have recognized him at all.

The stone chamber was too small; the two of them couldn’t fight at full strength.

Jin Ling frowned, uneasy. He was worried about Qiao Xixi’s safety, but he had just fought Kunlin. Facing him alone was indeed difficult.

"Alright."

During the three-way melee, the jars in the stone chamber shattered with a crash.

Qiao Xixi found an opening and ran into the tunnel leading to the exit. She formed a hand seal and silently chanted an incantation.

"Wind."

A blast of wind surged out of the tunnel, striking fiercely at Kunlin.

Kunlin turned to look at Qiao Xixi, a long, furious cry rising from his throat. The black energy around him rapidly expanded, forming a powerful dark halo.

The dark halo grew larger and larger, nearly crushing Jin Ling and Xijing into a corner.

Qiao Xixi’s face paled. "Jin Ling, Xijing, get out of there!"

"None of you... will be leaving."

Kunlin opened his mouth and spat out a cloud of black fog. The fog coalesced into a sphere of light that exploded in an instant.

BOOM!

The violent explosion was followed by a tremor that shook the very earth, and all light was suppressed by the darkness.

Qiao Xixi was thrown into the tunnel by the tremendous force of the blast.

Enduring the pain, Qiao Xixi climbed up from the ground and ran back toward the stone chamber.

"Jin Ling! Xijing!"

But just as she was halfway there, she ran into Kunlin walking out from inside.

Startled, Qiao Xixi instinctively took a step back.

But Kunlin showed no sign of stopping, his eyes, glowing with a sinister black and red light, fixed on her.

"Xixi, you have to be punished for being disobedient."

Kunlin reached for Qiao Xixi with a savage grin.

Qiao Xixi backed away again and again.

Just as Kunlin was about to lose patience, Qiao Xixi suddenly thrust the bone knife in her hand forward.

But as if he knew her intention, Kunlin grabbed her hand and pulled her in front of him.

Qiao Xixi struggled to break free, but Kunlin’s hand was like an iron clamp, holding her immobile.

"Those two useless beast-husbands of yours are already dead. No one can save you now."

Qiao Xixi’s expression changed slightly.

Seeing the shock deep in her eyes, a satisfied smile touched Kunlin’s lips.

He lifted her chin, his gaze roaming over her face.

Just then, Qiao Xixi abruptly kneed him in the stomach. As Kunlin’s pupils constricted and he dodged, Xijing’s figure suddenly appeared, his sharp fins instantly slitting Kunlin’s throat.

"Xixi!"

Xijing shoved Kunlin aside and flashed in front of Qiao Xixi. "Xixi, are you alright?"

Looking at Xijing, who was covered in blood and dust, Qiao Xixi shook her head, her heart aching for him. "I’m fine."

Kunlin clutched his neck, a pained expression on his face as he sank to one knee.

’Little Demon had said that to make the monster inside Kunlin disappear, they had to kill his original body and then purify the dark energy within him.’

Seeing her chance, Qiao Xixi said, "Xijing, we need to get him out of here quickly and purify the dark energy in his body while he’s seriously injured."

"Okay."

As Xijing moved forward to grab Kunlin’s hands, the pained look on Kunlin’s face suddenly changed. A thick black mist began to swirl around the gash on his neck.

When the black mist dissipated, the wound on his neck had vanished!

Qiao Xixi’s face fell.

Kunlin stopped Xijing’s hand mid-air. A strange, savage smile spread across his lips as he glared at them.

"You... can’t kill me."

Xijing’s eyes darkened. "Xixi, go! Get out of here! I’ll hold him off."

"None of you are getting away!"

Kunlin reached for Qiao Xixi again.

Xijing flashed forward to block him.

"Jin Ling, hit him from behind!" Qiao Xixi suddenly shouted. As Kunlin turned, she quickly pulled chili powder from her storage space and threw it in his face.

"COUGH COUGH COUGH! ACHOO!"

"Jin Ling, let’s go! Now!"

Seeing Jin Ling emerge, Qiao Xixi quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the tunnel exit.

’An unkillable Kunlin wasn’t going to be easy to deal with.’

"Little Demon, hurry! Find a way to kill Kunlin."

"Summon heavenly lightning, Host. You can use heavenly lightning to strike him dead."
