Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Success

Wally brandished his sharp, hooked claws, which crackled with sparks and lightning, and swiped viciously at Kangbi’Er’s head.

Kangbi’Er pressed his palms together, and a pale blue curtain of water materialized before his face.

But as it turned out, such a meager defense was utterly useless against Wally.

The lightning-wreathed claws shattered the water curtain, and the immense force slammed directly into Kangbi’Er’s face.

Kangbi’Er let out a wretched scream. His once ethereally handsome face was instantly mangled and bloody, with chunks of flesh falling directly into the lake. Furthermore, the lightning from Wally’s palm coursed into his body. The pain and searing heat made Kangbi’Er’s consciousness begin to fade.

In his daze, Kangbi’Er dove underwater on pure instinct.

He didn’t realize that this act was a death wish.

Wally roared. The deep blue, six-pointed star in his eyes spun rapidly, and in an instant, a dense web of electricity covered the entire man-made lake.

This wasn’t the open sea. With Wally’s power, he could easily blanket the entire lake.

Having dived to the bottom of the lake, Kangbi’Er’s heart pounded. He looked up from beneath the surface, and the sight shattered what little composure he had left.

Endless lightning descended from above, rolling down through the conductive water.

Kangbi’Er wanted to flee, but there was nowhere to run.

In an instant, countless serpents of lightning coiled around Kangbi’Er’s entire body.

First, he felt unbearable pain. Then, his consciousness began to fade, leaving only an expanse of azure blue before his eyes...

The moment Vili saw Kangbi’Er dive underwater, he knew Wally was about to give him a brutal beating.

And as it turned out, he was right.

The lightning subsided. About ten seconds later, Kangbi’Er’s body floated to the surface.

’Good, he’s not dead...’

Vili pulled Kangbi’Er out of the water and found he was still breathing.

Moreover, the torn flesh on his body was slowly knitting itself back together.

’So he has royal blood, too...’

Self-healing was the most common Ability of those with a Sea Elf royal bloodline. Selena was the same.

Vili breathed a small sigh of relief, seeing that Kangbi’Er hadn’t died.

Since Kangbi’Er had managed to find this place, it meant the other Sea Elf pursuers would arrive sooner or later.

As a Bronze Level Sea Elf, Kangbi’Er was quite valuable. If they were to be attacked by the Sea Elf clan, he could be used as a hostage. It would have been a shame if Wally had killed him just for sport.

Wally licked the purplish-red blood from his claws, a human-like flash of regret in his eyes.

’Since he won’t die, his ability will let him heal sooner or later...’

A pale golden light appeared in Vili’s palm, and he drove a Seal of Justice directly into Kangbi’Er’s body.

The Mark of Justice he had placed on Selena back then was more complex, containing various triggers and prohibitions, so it had taken some time to apply.

The Seal of Justice for Kangbi’Er, however, was simple and direct. It sealed the source of his malice. Unless Vili removed it, Kangbi’Er would forever be a powerless fish.

’The Personal Guards are here...’

Vili heard the sound of many footsteps approaching.

It was inevitable. Wally’s roar and the sky full of blue light were bound to have alerted the Personal Guard.

However, the fight had been over in an instant. Plus, Vili had ordered no guards to be posted near the man-made lake, so the Personal Guard from the manor couldn’t have arrived that quickly.

"Selena, keep an eye on this one."

Vili said to Selena, who was standing nearby.

Selena nodded silently.

’The scene just now was all too familiar. It felt just like how she had been defeated in an instant last time.’

’And this time, Kangbi’Er had been dealt with even faster.’

Selena leaped into the lake, grabbed Kangbi’Er by the hair, and pulled him under the surface.

Seeing this, Wally’s body began to shrink, and he soon reverted to his usual roly-poly form.

"Lord Baron!"

Soon, a dozen or so Guards rushed to the scene. To their surprise, however, they found only Baron Vili and Lord Volibear, the Beast Dominator of White Bear Town.

"Just now, here..."

The leader of the Personal Guard stepped forward, a look of confusion in his eyes as he looked at Vili.

"It was nothing. You may all return to your posts."

Vili smiled.

The Personal Guard leader glanced at the drenched ground but chose to obey the order.

The group of Personal Guards quickly departed from the lakeside.

’Wally, you’ve gotten stronger again...’

Vili felt a complicated mix of emotions. If it weren’t for his Title Attribute Panel, he would have been left so far in Wally’s dust he couldn’t even see his shadow.

Moreover, this ferocious, roaring Violent Bear did nothing but eat and sleep all day, which Vili found rather enviable.

’Can a mutant born from an ordinary brown bear really have such terrifying talent?’

Vili wondered.

He still clearly remembered the day he found Wally.

’A mutant... Could Wally have another bloodline in him?’

Vili had considered this question before.

’Could his paternal bloodline be from a Magical Beast?’

After all, the bloodline of a Magical Beast was the very source of its growth and power.

From that perspective, the possibility seemed very high.

Perhaps Wally’s father was a powerful Magical Beast.

But on second thought, Vili felt that didn’t quite add up.

No trace of a Magical Beast had ever been found in Morse Forest.

Vili didn’t dwell on it further. He certainly wouldn’t find the answer to that question right now.

"Wally, you can head back now..."

Vili patted Wally’s head, motioning for him to go back to sleep.

Wally tilted his head, raised a paw to Vili, then turned and waddled back to the attic.

’Senior Knight... I can’t wait any longer...’

Vili glanced up at the night sky.

He knew full well that if Kangbi’Er could find him, other Sea Elves would be able to as well, and soon.

To confront these Extraordinary visitors from the deep sea, he needed raw power to face them head-on.

Every single moment from now on had to be spent increasing his strength.

Vili went to an open space by himself and stretched his body.

By now, Vili could already wield his Fighting Spirit with perfect freedom, reaching a Realm where it moved as he willed.

He was now only a hair’s breadth away from resonating with the Power of Nature in the outside world.

Vili calmed his mind and threw himself wholeheartedly into his training.

Vili could feel the Fighting Spirit within him pulsing in time with his heartbeat. The free-flowing Power of Nature outside also seemed to attune to the rhythm of his Fighting Spirit, approaching a certain frequency...

The connection between the two grew stronger and stronger, as if they might converge completely at any moment.

Suddenly!

The Fighting Spirit inside Vili’s body resonated with the Power of Nature outside him.

A strange sensation washed over him, as if he had completely merged with the natural world.

’I did it!’

A look of joy appeared in Vili’s eyes.
