Chapter 75 - 74: Leisurely Time
Chapter 75: Chapter 74: Leisurely Time
Another half a month passed leisurely.
Yu Changsheng’s days on Beast Taming Peak were so peaceful he had almost forgotten about Huang Suyu, the man he’d once offended. Leaning back in his wooden chair, he murmured to himself.
’He’s probably the only one who holds a grudge against me now, right?’
’I wonder where he ran off to. He couldn’t have left the sect, could he?’
Ever since hearing that Huang Suyu had come out of seclusion, Yu Changsheng had been keeping tabs on him. He knew Huang Suyu had visited Jade Cauldron Peak once, but then he vanished. No other disciples had seen him since.
There were only two possibilities: either he had left the sect to seek an opportunity for Foundation Establishment, or he was hiding somewhere in seclusion, waiting for something.
’Whatever. I’ll just live my own life. Even if he reaches Foundation Establishment, I’m an Outer Disciple of Beast Taming Peak and he’s from Sword Control Peak. It’s not like we’d cross paths often.’
The best place for disciples from the five Inheritance Peaks to meet was the main peak.
A disciple from Sword Control Peak could visit Beast Taming Peak, but they had to follow the rules. If anyone tried to cause trouble by flaunting their status or Cultivation, the Foundation Establishment Elders and Golden Core True Masters of Beast Taming Peak wouldn’t just sit by. They would quickly teach that person a lesson!
’My Essence has increased by over twenty thousand, but the amount from the Beast Garden is dropping every day. Even if I feed them more, the Essence gain keeps falling.’
’It’s just like feeding my own Spirit Beasts. The more you feed them one type of Elixir, the smaller the reward gets. Now, I’m only getting seventeen hundred Essence a day.’
It pained Yu Changsheng to watch his Essence dwindle day by day.
Fortunately, the Spirit Chicken Garden had developed well over the past half-month. A good number of small Spirit Chickens had hatched, increasing the daily Essence gain from 150 to 220.
’I won’t sell any for now. I’ll just focus on raising them. Once I have three hundred, I can contact my family and arrange for someone to take over,’ Yu Changsheng thought.
’I almost forgot about today’s training.’
Remembering that the Red Refining Snake and the Iron Carving King hadn’t trained yet, Yu Changsheng quickly stood up from his chair. He walked to an open area in the Spirit Chicken Garden, formed a hand seal, and summoned them.
After a flash of white light, the dozing Red Refining Snake suddenly jolted awake. It widened its eyes and took a deep breath, trying its best to look like it had been cultivating diligently.
Beside it, however, the Iron Carving King was truly focused. It practiced turning and whipping its tail over and over, trying to perfect the accuracy of its fishtail-like strike.
Yu Changsheng wasn’t surprised by this. Although he couldn’t enter the Inner Realm himself, his Divine Sense could see everything inside and out.
So, he knew exactly what the Red Refining Snake was up to on a daily basis.
They had agreed on five hours of Cultivation every day, but after just one or two hours, it would start to relax, close its eyes, and fall asleep!
Every time, Yu Changsheng would get frustrated by its lack of ambition, but the Red Refining Snake would claim it was trying hard—several times harder than it used to—and look so aggrieved that it was on the verge of tears.
There was nothing Yu Changsheng could do about it.
He tapped the Red Refining Snake’s head in annoyance. "Learn from the Iron Carving King. If it weren’t for your naturally high Comprehension, you would’ve been left in its dust long ago."
"Starting next month, your Elixir rations are cut in half. The Iron Carving King gets extra!"
"You’ve eaten so many Cultivators your body is getting out of shape. Go get some exercise!"
Yu Changsheng kicked the nearly thirty-meter-long snake’s body as he shouted.
The Red Refining Snake glanced at the Iron Carving King, lowered its head in shame, and then silently slithered to a corner to move in circles.
The Red Refining Snake’s Cultivation had already reached the Tier One Eighth Layer, and it was in its complete form. It was no longer appropriate for the Iron Carving King to spar with it. Even though the Iron Carving King could fly, a single hit from the Red Refining Snake’s tail strike or a fireball would mean certain death or grievous injury!
Even a Chen Family Cultivator at the Qi Refining Peak had died at its fangs, which showed just how terrifying its power had become.
Yu Changsheng glanced at the Red Refining Snake before walking over to the Iron Carving King. He took out a recently refined Qi Enhancement Pill and fed it to the bird.
The Iron Carving King expertly opened its beak, caught the pill, and swallowed it in one go.
Soon after, it let out a contented cry.
[You have successfully fed an Iron Carving King. Consumed: Qi Enhancement Pill x1. Reward: 1210 Essence, a small amount of Magical Power.]
This Qi Enhancement Pill had Two Pill Patterns. After perfecting the art of creating Qi Enhancement Pills with One Pill Pattern, Yu Changsheng had begun studying how to make them with two. He had finally succeeded recently, thanks to the preliminary refining capabilities of his Static Fire.
A smile appeared on Yu Changsheng’s face as he saw the system notification and felt his Magical Power about to overflow.
’In just a few more days, I should be able to break through to the Qi Refining Seventh Layer!’
With the Disguise Hanging Pearl, Yu Changsheng could just let nature take its course. He would advance his Realm whenever he could, never deliberately suppressing it.
In this world, strength was everything. Potential that wasn’t converted into actual power was useless!
Better to improve in a timely manner than to let someone else benefit after his death!
"Your Realm is almost at the Tier One Seventh Layer. After you break through, I’ll help you upgrade your bloodline again."
Yu Changsheng said with a smile, stroking the Iron Carving King’s head.
Because of its naturally Incomplete bloodline, the Iron Carving King’s Cultivation speed was very slow. Even though it had been upgraded once, which had compensated for some of the flaws, there were still subtle defects.
Only by reaching its complete form could the bloodline be truly perfected!
[Spirit Beast Transformation]
[Iron-Feathered Eagle → Golden-Winged Eagle]
[Essence Required: 15,650]
Compared to the four-thousand-odd Essence the Red Refining Snake had needed, the Iron Carving King’s transformation required far more. This was due to its species!
The original Iron-Feathered Eagle could already grow into a Tier Two Demon Beast capable of matching a Foundation Establishment Cultivator. After evolving into the Iron Carving King, Tier One Peak was no longer its bottleneck.
And once it transformed into a Golden-Winged Eagle, as long as it had enough Cultivation Resources, it could reach Tier Two with ease. It would be no challenge at all.
This was unlike the Red Refining Snake. Even though it was now in its complete form, breaking through to Tier Two would still depend on luck. Fortunately, its high Comprehension gave it a much better chance of breaking through than other Red Refining Snakes.
’Fifteen thousand... Tsk, tsk. Just half a month ago, I swore it was the last time and that I’d save up to add points to the Refining God Technique. But now that I have a little capital, I’m already thinking about an upgrade.’
’Sigh, what a bad habit. This time, it’s really the last time!’
Yu Changsheng sighed. Aside from the Iron Carving King, there was nothing else he needed to upgrade in the short term. His Cultivation Techniques and Magic were sufficient. The only other major expenses would be things like Ancestral Fusion or Devouring Bloodline.
’Once this batch of Spirit Chickens reaches three hundred and they’ve matured, I’ll go to the Fish Market and see if the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower has any new stock.’
’If they do, I can buy one for fusion or Devouring.’
Yu Changsheng’s Alchemy had been successful recently, and the speed at which he earned Spirit Stones had doubled. Earning three to four thousand Lower Grade Spirit Stones a month was no problem.
With so much money on hand, if he came across a good Tier Two Demon Beast, he could buy it on the spot without even bothering to haggle.
After digesting the Elixir, the Iron Carving King resumed its training. As a Spirit Beast with poor talent and low Comprehension, it had to work hard. The Celestial Dao rewards the diligent, and great success comes from long preparation!
In contrast, the Red Refining Snake was a bit of a slacker.
Look at it—after exercising for only an hour, it was already circling the Spirit Chicken coop, periodically poking its head in to frighten them.
It seemed to find the sight of the terrified Spirit Chickens immensely amusing.
