Chapter 350: Chapter 283: Medicine Gatherer

The night passed peacefully. Despite hurtling through the high-altitude clouds, the Spirit Ship remained perfectly stable. Thanks to its arrays, the journey was quite comfortable.

Even when the occasional Cultivator flew past, they only observed from a distance, and no incidents occurred.

Five days passed. As the first rays of dawn shone through the skylight and into his room, Yu Changsheng slowly opened his eyes. He let out a soft breath and looked out the window.

Amidst a sea of clouds, a fiery red sun rose from the horizon. Its immense glow, ready to burst forth, stained the surrounding clouds crimson—a truly beautiful sight.

The crimson light washed over Yu Changsheng’s face, casting his shadow on the wall behind him. He narrowed his eyes, taking in the magnificent sight. Extending his hand, he clenched it into a fist, a thoughtful expression on his face.

’The essence of the rising sun at dawn... So that’s it.’

With this flash of insight, all other thoughts receded. His various understandings of the Rising Sun Dawn Fist coalesced into a single, crystalline point in his mind.

Yu Changsheng’s own Comprehension was actually quite good. He usually relied on his Golden Finger, but that didn’t mean he was incapable of thinking for himself.

’That’s right. The system only raises my proficiency. I still need to practice to gain those crucial insights for myself.’

Yu Changsheng muttered to himself, took a deep breath, and stretched his limbs. He then walked out of his room and onto the deck.

On the deck, Li Minghan, Shen Xingchen, and the others were also emerging from their rooms.

"The Huishui Mountain Range is just ahead. I’m taking the Flying Ship down now." Zhang Tianwen glanced at the other four and, with a quick finger technique, began to lower the vessel’s altitude.

Yu Changsheng looked down. Through the mist, he saw rolling mountain ranges and colossal trees that towered into the sky, obscuring the details below. The most stunning sight, however, was the eight immense rivers flowing from all directions to converge at a single point, like eight great dragons, before branching off once more.

At the very center of their convergence was Huishui Mountain, set like a Dragon Pearl amid the rivers. The mountain range stretched for eight hundred miles, a truly majestic and magnificent sight. Anyone could tell at a glance that this was no ordinary place.

"The Land of Eight Dragons Converging on a Pearl... This Huishui Mountain is extraordinary," Wang Dingsheng couldn’t help but remark. "It’s a land of treasure, but also a land of death."

"That’s right. Huishui Mountain has unique terrain, and there are many Dark Streams surging beneath the ground. Once we’re inside, we must stick together and not split up. With our level of Cultivation, we should be fine as long as we don’t venture too deep."

Zhang Tianwen nodded. Shortly after, the Flying Ship landed. He put it away, and after getting their bearings, the group flew onward.

"Huishui Mountain is teeming with Spirit Beasts and rich in resources, including plenty of Spirit Grass and Spiritual Medicine. Where there’s profit, people naturally gather. Over time, a number of Cultivators have settled at the foot of the mountain, forming a unique profession: the Medicine Gatherer."

"Since this is our first time here, let’s head to the Medicinal Herb Town up ahead. The best plan would be to find an experienced guide to lead us. It’ll save us a lot of trouble."

It was clear Zhang Tianwen had done his research. He laid out the plan methodically, and the others, having no objections, nodded in agreement.

After the time it takes an incense stick to burn, a small town not far from Huishui Mountain came into view. The five of them felt their spirits lift and quickened their pace.

The town wasn’t large, but it was bustling with activity. People milled about, and the endless cries of vendors filled the air. Yu Changsheng focused his senses for a moment. Most of the people here were Qi Cultivation cultivators, with a few at the Foundation Establishment realm. He couldn’t detect anyone stronger than that, at least for now.

"Come one, come all! Top-quality Spiritual Medicine, Blood Ganoderma Seven-leaf Flower... Selling it cheap!"

...

"Carcass of a Tier Two Demon Beast, a Red Flame Lion! Freshly killed! Come take a look, get it while it’s fresh!"

...

As they walked into the town, they saw that while there were many shops, the streets were also lined with numerous Cultivators who had set up stalls to hawk their wares to passersby.

Yu Changsheng scanned the area, getting a general feel for the town. He browsed the goods on display with a hint of curiosity, but unfortunately, he had no need for most of what was being sold.

The arrival of their group of five naturally attracted some attention. After all, based on their clothing and bearing—which they hadn’t bothered to conceal—it was clear there was a world of difference between Sect Disciples like them and the local Loose Cultivators.

And so, before the group even had a chance to look, a man eagerly stepped forward and asked with a cheerful smile, "Gentlemen, is this your first time visiting Huishui Mountain?"

The speaker was a short, middle-aged man in a plain, earth-yellow robe. His Cultivation was only at the Qi Refining Peak, but his eyes held a naturally shrewd glint.

Zhang Tianwen considered for a moment, then looked at the man and nodded slightly. "That’s right," he said. "It is indeed our first time."

"Ah!" Hearing this, the man clapped his hands, his face beaming. "My name is Yang Cai’zai. Huishui Mountain is a rare treasure trove, to be sure. But for outsiders on their first visit, unfamiliar with the conditions, rushing in blindly is a good way to stumble into a dangerous area. It’s incredibly perilous."

"If you’re interested, or find yourselves in need, look for our Ancient Sun Medicine Gathering Team. We have the most experienced Medicine Gatherer in the area. With him as your guide, you can rest assured. He’ll help you avoid all the pitfalls, ensuring your safety without delaying your expedition."
