Chapter 715: Chapter 435: Coercion, Such Good Luck
SIZZLE...
The clear venom missed Lin Li and spattered onto the grass. Instantly, the small patch of lush green vegetation it drenched began to emit wisps of white smoke. In less than a few seconds, the plants had all withered and yellowed, devoid of any life.
’That’s some potent venom.’ Lin Li thought, gazing at the withered vegetation. Although he knew he was on guard and wouldn’t get hit, seeing the effect of the venom still sent a slight shiver down his spine.
"It’s getting away!" one of the Exotic Beast Hunters shouted. Lin Li looked up at the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake.
The heavily injured Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake was in a sorry state, fleeing frantically into the distance. It could no longer afford to worry about its wounds. As it fled, it left a bright red trail on the ground, a stain from its gushing blood.
’If I let you get away, I’d die of embarrassment.’
Lin Li bent his knees and pushed off with his feet. The ground beneath him instantly buckled, forming two shallow craters. His body shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, heading straight for the desperately fleeing Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake.
"He’s so fast!" The Exotic Beast Hunters gasped in amazement as they watched Lin Li give chase. His speed was so incredible they could only eat his dust.
HISS...
The Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake thrashed its body, blood gushing out. Pain relentlessly assaulted its nerves. In its heavily injured state, it shouldn’t have been moving so violently, as it would only worsen its wounds.
But at such a life-or-death moment, if it didn’t flee with all its might, its life would be over in an instant. It couldn’t worry about anything else!
WHOOSH.
The sound of something slicing through the air rang out again. Hearing it from behind, the fleeing Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake’s eyes nearly overflowed with terror.
It twisted its body violently, flinging itself to the right. It had hoped this sudden change in position would allow it to dodge the Wind Blade attack from the enemy behind it, but it still failed.
Under Lin Li’s control, the sharp Cyan Wind Blade curved in mid-air and struck the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake’s back.
BOOM.
The exploding Wind Blade sent dark green scales flying everywhere. Bloody chunks of flesh scattered across the ground.
HISS...
Struck by another heavy blow, the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake’s body convulsed in pain before it slammed to the ground. The shriek that escaped its mouth was agonizing and almost unbearable to hear.
THUD, THUD, THUD...
The rapid sound of running footsteps approached. The Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake, collapsed on the ground, heard the sound and knew that its terrifying enemy had caught up. It scrambled to its feet and turned, preparing to spit venom to slow its attacker.
But just as the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake turned its head, before it could even open its mouth to spray the venom, a figure descended from the sky.
Seeing his prey knocked to the ground, Lin Li suddenly kicked his speed up another notch.
When he was about ten meters away, he stomped the ground and leaped into the air. Mid-flight, he reversed his grip on his Spiritual Longsword and forcefully plunged it into the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake’s head.
SQUELCH.
Unable to react in time, the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake could only watch as its enemy descended from the sky and plunged the Spiritual Longsword, glowing with a faint golden Spiritual Light, into its head.
DRIP, DRIP, DRIP...
Blood dripped from the tip of the blade protruding through its head, making soft sounds as it hit the leaves on the ground.
The head is a vital spot for nearly all living creatures. With a Spiritual Longsword run through its brain, the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake had virtually no chance of survival.
The light faded from its giant pupils as its world plunged into darkness. The snake’s body swayed and then crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Out of caution, Lin Li gripped his Spiritual Longsword and twisted it a few times, scrambling the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake’s brain into mush.
Then, he yanked his arm back, pulling the Spiritual Longsword free.
As the Spiritual Longsword, still glowing with a faint golden Spiritual Light, was withdrawn from the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake’s head, it brought a string of red and white matter with it.
"Tsk... How disgusting," Lin Li muttered in distaste, looking at the red and white matter clinging to the blade of his Spiritual Longsword.
He then flicked the Spiritual Longsword forcefully a few times, flinging off most of the gunk, and then wiped the blade on the nearby vegetation.
While it wasn’t completely clean, it was much better than before.
THUD, THUD, THUD...
The sound of heavy footsteps came from behind him. Lin Li didn’t need to turn around; he knew it was the Exotic Beast Hunters.
"It’s dead?!!!" Seeing the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake lying motionless on the ground, the Exotic Beast Hunters were first stunned, then their faces broke into expressions of joy.
But a few seconds later, the joyful expressions on their faces froze.
The grass ahead began to shake violently, and then a terrifying Mutant Beast, far larger than the dead Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake, emerged from the brush.
Its head was oval-shaped, its belly, upper lip, and neck were all a milky white, and its back was covered in alternating black and white bands. It was approximately thirty meters long.
What appeared before them was a Silver-Ringed Snake Beast, more than double the size of the Bamboo-Leaf Green Snake. Its venom was far more potent, and it radiated the Spiritual Energy Wave of a Second Order High Rank beast.
"Second Order High Rank!!!" The Exotic Beast Hunters, sensing the Spiritual Energy Wave emanating from the Silver-Ringed Snake Beast, immediately cried out in terror.
