Chapter 633: Chapter 396: Differences in Superpowers
The Little Black Cat lay motionless on the ground. After resting for a bit, he realized he still couldn’t stand up.
"Meow... It’s no good! I feel so drained right now, and my head hurts a little. I can’t muster any strength," the Little Black Cat said.
"Meow... Okay, then just rest a little longer," the Little White Cat said, settling down beside his companion to watch over him.
He had seen this happen before. However, the last time the Little Black Cat’s transformation ended, he hadn’t been completely immobilized like this.
’It must be because he got bigger this time than the last.’ That had to be what caused it.
In the kitchen, Xia Qing scooped up a small spoonful of broth to taste for seasoning. She gave a slight nod, then sprinkled a handful of chopped green onions into the pot.
Then, she turned off the gas stove and the range hood and took two bowls from the cupboard.
"Tongtong, come and eat dinner!" Xia Qing called out toward the living room as she walked into the dining room, carrying a bowl of fragrant noodles with vegetables and shredded pork. She then turned and went back to the kitchen to get her own bowl.
The dream shattered.
"Ngh..." Zhou Tongtong woke up when she heard her mom calling her for dinner. She raised a hand to rub her eyes, recalling the images from her dream. "What a weird dream," she mumbled to herself.
"Tongtong."
Hearing her mother call her again, Zhou Tongtong stopped thinking about the dream. She hopped off the sofa and, slipping on her little slippers, scurried toward the kitchen.
"It smells so good!" Zhou Tongtong said, sitting at the table. She looked at the big, fragrant bowl of noodles with vegetables and shredded pork in front of her and twitched her small, delicate nose.
"Be careful, it’s hot," Xia Qing said, handing a pair of chopsticks to her daughter.
"Mom, I haven’t had my ice cream today!" Zhou Tongtong said suddenly, just before she started eating, as she took the chopsticks from her mother.
"You can have ice cream after you finish dinner and rest for a bit," Xia Qing said.
"Okay." Zhou Tongtong nodded, then enthusiastically dug into the large, fragrant bowl of noodles before her.
Seeing how much her daughter was enjoying her food, Xia Qing also picked up her chopsticks and began to eat.
The sun had set, and all the streetlights had turned on.
In a remote corner of the park, a place few people ever visited, a little black cat lay listlessly on the grass under the dim yellow light.
RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE...
Suddenly, a sound came from a patch of grass in the distance, and a white figure emerged.
The Little White Cat approached his companion and dropped the plump rat he was carrying in his mouth.
The Little Black Cat, who hadn’t fully recovered yet, was already starving, his stomach growling. He caught the tempting scent and quickly opened his eyes.
"Meow... Go on, you eat it," the Little White Cat said to his companion.
His stomach rumbling with hunger, the Little Black Cat was about to open his mouth and tear into the delicious meal before him.
But just as his jaws were about to close on the tasty prize, he stopped. He looked up at his companion and asked.
"Meow... But what about you?"
"Meow... I’ll go catch another one."
"Meow... Let’s just eat it together!"
"Meow... You eat it. It’s fine. This park has a lot of big rats, so I can catch another one in no time. Besides, I’ve discovered that I can find where they are really quickly now."
With that, the Little White Cat immediately left, diving back into the patch of grass he had just come from.
The Little Black Cat watched the Little White Cat leave. ’I need to eat to get my strength back faster,’ he thought. And so, he began to ravenously devour the tasty meal before him.
Although it was already September, the weather was still quite hot. As a result, quite a few people came to the park to enjoy the cool evening air after nightfall.
Some parents brought their children to the park to play. The adults sat around chatting while, in the distance, a group of kids made a racket, the endless sounds of their laughter and shouting filling the air as they chased one another.
"Hey, look! There’s a big rat over there!" one of the little boys at play exclaimed to his friends, pointing toward a large rat poking its head out from the grass under a distant streetlight.
"That rat is huge!" The other children followed his finger and gasped in surprise.
"It’s coming out."
"It’s so fast."
"Where is it going?"
"I think it’s going to the bamboo grove."
"Oh no... It’s a goner."
As all the children watched, they witnessed the entire event: the huge rat was caught with ease by an all-white kitten, completely unable to fight back.
Hidden in the shadows of the bamboo grove, a faint, almost imperceptible, pale golden Spiritual Light flashed in the Little White Cat’s eyes from time to time.
He couldn’t smell any prey, but for some reason, a feeling in his gut told him that something was running in his direction.
A few seconds later, just as he’d felt, a plump rat came scurrying toward the bamboo grove. Seeing his chance, the Little White Cat pounced.
The unsuspecting rat, scared witless by the sudden appearance of its natural predator, froze for a moment. Its fate was sealed.
SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK...
Terrified squeaks escaped the large rat’s mouth as it struggled to get away.
Having not yet eaten dinner, the Little White Cat wasn’t about to let his prize escape after a successful pounce.
After landing on the plump rat, he opened his mouth and bit down on its neck. Within seconds, the struggling prey was finished.
"Wow..."
"He’s so pretty."
"That Little White Cat is amazing!"
"My cat at home can’t even catch mice."
"Mine either. Our dog is the one who catches mice. The cat just sleeps all day."
The group of children watched the successful hunter, showering the Little White Cat with praise.
’Meow... These human cubs are so noisy!’ The Little White Cat had noticed the group of children watching him. Since Zhou Tongtong was the only human he was fond of, he naturally had no interest in them.
"He’s leaving." The children felt a pang of disappointment as they watched the amazing Little White Cat turn and run off with his prize.
"Meow... Whoa! You’re back already?!" the Little Black Cat exclaimed in surprise, watching his companion return with his catch.
"Meow... Didn’t I tell you? I said I could catch another big rat in no time," the Little White Cat said, then began to eat his own dinner.
CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH...
The sound of the two little stray cats crunching on bones echoed from time to time, ringing out with exceptional clarity in the quiet, remote corner of the park.

After more than an hour, the power finally came back on in the Happiness Garden District. The residents who had been strolling downstairs gradually returned to their homes.
"One, two, three, four, lift your leg. Two, two, three, four, raise your arm..."
A yoga program was playing on the wide-screen LCD TV in the living room, with the instructor guiding the audience through the exercises.
Accompanied by upbeat music, the well-proportioned yoga instructor on the screen called out instructions rhythmically, while viewers in front of their TVs diligently followed along.
On a yoga mat, a figure with a body far superior to the instructor’s on the show moved along with the program, constantly shifting positions.
Su Yue was wearing a tight, beige yoga outfit that perfectly accentuated her flawless figure, creating a sight no one would be able to look away from. Unfortunately, there was no one around to enjoy the view.
"All right, that’s all for today! See you again tomorrow at the same time. Don’t forget!" the yoga instructor said with a smile to the viewers at home as the program ended.
After the high-intensity yoga workout, she was dripping with sweat, and her yoga clothes were soaked through.
"Whew... I’m exhausted!"
Su Yue said. After taking a big gulp of water, she went to the bathroom to take a shower.
The sound of rushing water filled the bathroom. Just then, the phone on the living room sofa began to ring, but Su Yue, busy showering, was completely unaware.
