I Sell Gacha Jars in One Piece

Chapter 248: Perona Opens a Jar

  • Next Chapter

Perona took a lot longer to choose her jar than Moria had. Staring at the colorful sea of jars in front of her, her eyes practically glazed over from the sheer number of options, and she couldn't decide which one to pick.

"That one up front looks pretty good to me. Look at this jar, big and round, big and round, and check out this ribbon, long and wide..."

"You really can't go wrong with that one!"

Watching Perona agonize without narrowing anything down, Amon offered a suggestion, throwing in an impromptu little rap that left everyone around him thoroughly startled.

"Big and round? Does that mean it'll have a cute doll inside?"

Aside from her love of dark gothic lolita fashion, dolls were Perona's other great obsession. The moment she heard Amon's pitch, she immediately asked whether it would give her the kind of doll she wanted.

"Probably. Maybe. Could be!"

Faced with Perona's hopeful stare, Amon's answer came out deliberately vague. Jars could technically produce anything, but what you actually got always came down to luck.

"Really? That's wonderful!"

Perona took his uncertain mumbling as a definite yes, and the moment she heard what she wanted, she snatched up the big round jar without hesitation.

"Captain, this one! This is the one!"

She held the jar out toward Amon, showing him her choice.

"You're sure?" Amon nodded. "Then go ahead and break it open." Once she confirmed her pick, he told her to smash it.

"Okay!" Perona said, cracking the jar open in one motion.

With a clatter, two items tumbled out. Perona snatched them both up in her hands the instant they hit the ground.

"Yes! There really is a doll, and it's my favorite, a teddy bear! Though... isn't it a little small?"

She clutched the two items, practically vibrating with excitement, especially over the small bear shaped toy she couldn't stop admiring. But since it hadn't been identified yet, it looked a bit unimpressive in its current state, and she pouted slightly at its size.

"This needs to be identified before you can see its true form. Here, let me take a look for you."

Amon smiled and held out his hand, gesturing for her to pass the items over.

"Oh, it needs identifying to show its real form... okay then!"

Hearing that, Perona looked a little embarrassed. Thankfully Amon didn't laugh at her. He simply took both items from her hands and opened up the system to scan them.

Before long, the full properties of both items appeared before his eyes.

[Summon Tibbers]: A Tibbers plush toy. When not in use, it functions as an ordinary teddy bear. Once activated, it summons Tibbers, who deals heavy damage to enemies within range.

Tibbers remains active for ten minutes. During that time, he burns nearby enemies, with the damage increasing each second. Beyond the burn effect, he also attacks nearby enemies with his fists. The summoner can control Tibbers through their spiritual power.

Tibbers enters a state of rage under the following conditions: when the summoner takes heavy damage, or when Tibbers himself takes heavy damage. While enraged, Tibbers gains a 275% attack speed bonus and a 100% movement speed bonus, both of which decay steadily over three minutes.

Skill cooldown: 24 hours.

Summon Tibbers? Wasn't that Annie's ultimate from League of Legends?

Amon hadn't expected this teddy bear to be anywhere near this terrifying. He'd assumed it was just an ordinary plush toy. He never imagined Perona could pull something like this out of a jar. This system really did have some good stock in it. On top of that, the item suited her perfectly. When not in use, it worked as a regular teddy bear, but the moment a fight broke out, she could summon it for backup. Perona was already a mage type fighter, and with Tibbers watching her back, there was no way an ordinary opponent could get close to her. That meant she'd be free to unleash her ghosts on enemies without worrying about being caught off guard. With this bear at her side, her combat strength would easily double.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Seeing what Perona had pulled from her jar, Amon felt happy for her. She was part of his crew now, after all, and the stronger his crew members were, the better. He gave a satisfied nod and turned his attention to the second item.

It was a gothic style dress, one that looked strikingly similar to the outfit worn by Hextech Annie. He couldn't be sure if that was intentional. Curious, Amon checked the dress's properties.

[Ever-Changing Lolita Dress]: A shape-shifting gothic lolita dress originating from the medieval era. When worn, it not only defends against damage but automatically changes color to match the wearer's mood, and comes with a dust-repelling effect, meaning it will never get dirty.

An ever-changing lolita dress? Great. Defensive properties on top of a self-cleaning, self-restyling effect. In other words, once she put this on, she'd never have to worry about running out of outfit options again, since the dress stayed comfortable in any season and could shift into all sorts of different styles.

Perona's luck had turned out to be excellent. Both items were exactly the kind of thing she loved. That big round jar had clearly been worth every bit of hype.

"Mr. Amon, well? Is it the big teddy bear?" The moment Perona saw Amon finish looking things over, she rushed closer, eager to find out exactly what she'd gotten.

"Heh, you've got some good luck on you, Perona. Both of these items suit you perfectly. We'll get to the big teddy bear in a bit, let's talk about this dress first."

As Amon spoke, he gave his hand a light shake, and the Ever-Changing Lolita Dress slipped free from the box it had been sitting in.

Perona's eyes went wide, practically sparkling at the sight. This was exactly the kind of style and design she'd always loved, and the moment she saw it emerge, she couldn't look away. She'd meant to check out the teddy bear first, but the instant she laid eyes on the dress, the bear was completely forgotten.

"Captain, is this gorgeous dress really something I pulled out?"

Perona could hardly believe she'd managed to get something this beautiful, and her excitement was written all over her face.
