I Secretly Cultivate Immortality in the Martial Arts World
Chapter 141 ·How Evil Could the Eastern Continent Really Be
At the same time, in the Spirit Realm, Southern Region.
Amidst the mountain ranges, a figure sat halfway up a mountainside.
That figure was so enormously burly that it looked like a small hill squatting there.
It was none other than the Bull Demon Demon King.
At the foot of the mountain, a massive cauldron rested atop blazing flames. The soup within boiled furiously, bubbling nonstop.
From time to time, bones surfaced through the broth.
Human bones.
Further away, within a wide valley, a sea of people was densely packed together.
At a glance, there were no fewer than tens of thousands.
There were cultivators dressed in black robes, and mortals clad in ragged clothing.
The cultivators all had weakened auras. The strongest among them was shockingly at the Integration Realm.
The mortals trembled endlessly, their faces pale with despair. Some clutched children in their arms, while others supported elderly relatives.
And surrounding them on all sides were demons.
Some sat while others stood. Some had transformed into half-human, half-beast forms, while others remained in their original appearances—tigers, wolves, jackals, leopards, bears, snakes, and giant pythons. They densely encircled the valley until not even water could leak through.
Quite a few demons were currently gnawing on flesh.
Human arms. Leg bones. Bloodstained organs.
The scene was cruel and bloody, like a living hell on earth.
The trapped mortals could only tremble amidst such a sight as they awaited the fate that belonged to them.
As for those black-robed cultivators, they were members of the Myriad Tribulations Demon Sect.
As subordinates of the Ten-Thousand Tribulations Demon Lord in the Southern Region, they normally lorded over others, harvesting mortals as though cutting grass.
But now that they had fallen into the hands of the demon race, they were no different from those mortals.
To demonic cultivators, mortals were merely human-shaped materials kept in captivity.
Some were used for pill refinement, some for cultivation, and some for sacrificial rituals.
The demonic sect raised them like livestock.
And now that they had fallen into the mouths of demons, it was simply a different group of flesh-eaters replacing the previous one.
Perhaps for them, being devoured by demons was actually more merciful than being tortured to death by fellow human demonic cultivators.
This was the sorrow of the weak.
The great war along the Southern Region border, which had lasted for many years, had finally produced a victor.
The Ten-Thousand Tribulations Demon Lord had lost to the Bull Demon Demon King.
Although this giant of the demonic path was also a powerhouse of the Tribulation Crossing Realm, he ultimately fell short against the Bull Demon Demon King’s overwhelmingly terrifying fleshly divine abilities.
The demonic sect army retreated again and again, leaving behind countless corpses as they withdrew into the depths of the Southern Region.
And these tens of thousands of humans before them were the Bull Demon Demon King’s spoils of war.
The Bull Demon Demon King sat halfway up the mountain, overlooking the boiling cauldron below. A trace of satisfaction flashed through his eyes.
The flesh of a Great Ascension Realm demonic cultivator truly tasted excellent.
Nice and chewy.
As he was thinking this, the sound of something slicing through the air suddenly arrived.
An eagle demon descended from the sky, landing on the mountainside before transforming into human form and quickly rushing before the Bull Demon Demon King before kneeling with a thud.
“K-King!”
The Bull Demon Demon King frowned and glanced sideways at him.
“What is it?”
The eagle demon trembled violently, even his voice shaking.
“R-Reporting to the King… news has come from your cave dwelling… that human brat, Ye Chen… h-he escaped.”
The Bull Demon Demon King was first stunned, then his pupils suddenly contracted.
“What?”
His voice was deep like muffled thunder, shaking loose rocks from the mountainside.
The eagle demon lay prostrate on the ground, not daring to raise his head.
“I-It was news from the Western Wasteland cave dwelling. They said that brat Ye Chen escaped around three or four years ago.”
“Three or four years ago?”
The Bull Demon Demon King abruptly stood up, his mountain-like body casting a massive shadow.
“He escaped three or four years ago, and only now you tell this king?!”
He grabbed the eagle demon by the neck and lifted him into the air, fury blazing in his eyes.
The eagle demon was terrified out of his wits.
“K-King, spare me! The brothers guarding the Western Wasteland thought… thought that brat couldn’t escape far, so they wanted to capture him themselves to make up for their mistakes…”
“And then?”
“And then that brat kept fleeing eastward and escaped into the Eastern Continent.”
“The brothers chased him to the borders of the Eastern Continent, but his aura suddenly disappeared completely.”
“T-They searched the Eastern Continent for three years and still couldn’t find him… that’s why… why they finally dared to report it to you…”
After hearing this, the Bull Demon Demon King directly opened his mouth and swallowed the eagle demon whole.
Crunch. Crunch.
The sound of chewing echoed throughout the mountains.
Both the demons and humans below felt chills run through their bodies at the sight.
The Bull Demon Demon King swallowed the eagle demon and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, yet the fury in his eyes did not diminish in the slightest.
Escaped?
That brat called Ye Chen was extremely useful to him.
Ye Chen had connections with that breathtakingly beautiful Nine-Tailed Snow Fox, and he had planned to use Ye Chen as bait to lure the fox out.
Now that the bait had escaped, where was he supposed to find that exquisite fox?
What infuriated him even more was the incompetence of his subordinates.
A mere Void Refinement brat had been imprisoned in the underground cavern for so long, yet he still managed to escape?
Escaping was one thing.
But they had concealed it and delayed reporting it for so many years?
Savage light flickered within the Bull Demon Demon King’s eyes.
Once he returned, all those little demons in the cave dwelling would be eaten.
Disobedient trash had no value in being kept alive.
The moment this thought arose in his mind, the demons below seemed to sense something. One by one, they lowered their heads, silent as cicadas in winter.
Truthfully, the Bull Demon Demon King possessed no real ability to command subordinates.
He was simply overwhelmingly powerful.
His Tribulation Crossing Realm body and his unreasonable divine abilities gave him enough strength to crush the vast majority of experts within the Spirit Realm.
Those lesser demons followed him not because of loyalty, but because of fear.
Fear that had reached its extreme.
When he became angry, they trembled.
When he ate demons, none of them dared flee.
The Bull Demon Demon King paced a few steps across the mountainside while muttering to himself.
“The Eastern Continent…”
He remembered capturing several demonic sect cultivators in the Southern Region before. During interrogation, he had heard them mention something.
The Eastern Continent was very strange.
As for exactly how strange it was, even those demonic sect cultivators could not explain clearly.
They only knew that their sect master, the Ten-Thousand Tribulations Demon Lord, had once strictly ordered that members of the demonic sect were forbidden from proactively invading the Eastern Continent.
Forbidden from proactively invading?
The Bull Demon Demon King narrowed his eyes.
Could it be that some ancient monster was hidden within the Eastern Continent?
He immediately sneered.
So what if there was?
Within the Spirit Realm, the highest level of cultivation was peak Tribulation Crossing Realm.
Once someone reached the Human Immortal Realm, the laws of heaven and earth would forcibly draw them upward to ascend into the Immortal Realm.
Unless that person possessed heaven-defying means capable of suppressing their own cultivation and forcefully remaining within the Spirit Realm.
But even if they suppressed their cultivation, their strength would still remain at the peak Tribulation Crossing Realm level.
And the Bull Demon Demon King feared peak Tribulation Crossing Realm experts the least.
His fleshly body, his divine abilities, and his brute strength were enough for him to fight above his level and remain invincible among equals.
Even if some ancient monster truly hid within the Eastern Continent, he felt no fear whatsoever.
The Bull Demon Demon King raised his head and looked toward the distance.
That was the direction of the Eastern Continent.
“Once the war in the Southern Region is finished…”
“This old bull will go take a look at the Eastern Continent.”
He muttered softly to himself, the corners of his mouth splitting open to reveal a mouthful of ghastly white teeth.
The Bull Demon Demon King withdrew his gaze and sat back down halfway up the mountain once more.
No rush.
First, he would clean up the Southern Region and completely crush that fellow Ten-Thousand Tribulations Demon Lord.
Then he would head to the Eastern Continent to find that brat called Ye Chen.
And while he was there, he would also see just how strange the Eastern Continent truly was.
