I Rebuilt FGO as a Tower Defense Game

Chapter 175: Attack Speed Relic, Attack Speed Relic, and Another Attack Speed Relic!

However, Lina’s professional predictive analysis didn’t even last three seconds before she completely froze.

In the recording, Belle casually clicked on the second [Assassin] recruitment voucher.

The interface, which should have spawned a row of low-star grey-bronze cards, suddenly flashed with a rainbow halo accompanied by a unique sound effect!

[Temporary Recruitment: Dr. Jekyll (Jekyll & Hyde)!]

[This Servant is a temporary system distribution; it costs zero Hope points and joins the team at max level and potential!]

“Eh? Little brother Jekyll! This refined gentleman look with glasses and a suit, oh my god! And he’s free? Come to mama!”

Belle giggled with joy and decisively added him to her collection.

But it didn’t end there.

When she clicked on the third [Lancer] recruitment voucher, that rainbow halo—the symbol of the Emperor of Luck—actually lit up again!

[Temporary Recruitment: Diarmuid (The Brush)]

Zero cost! Joins at max level!

“This dual-spear Diarmuid is so manly, and that beauty mark is to die for! Dealer, you’re being too good to me!” Belle screamed with excitement.

In front of her screen, Lina, who had just been making a serious analysis, looked like a cat that had its tail stepped on.

“What kind of divine dealing is this?! Two consecutive [Temporary Recruitments] with zero Hope cost?!”

Lina rubbed her eyes in disbelief, clutching her hair as she broke down in her stream:

“No, wait?! Why?! I was just calculating every single point of Hope, even being stingy with three-star cards! She spent all her Hope recklessly, and the system acts like her sugar daddy, giving her two max-level husbandos for free to carry her early game?!”

“Old Thief Kirito, come out and explain! Does this card dealing system depend on looks?! Is this reasonable?!”

Lina’s face was flushed red with anger at the dealer, making the bullet chat double over with laughter:

“Hahahaha! This is the true Roguelike world: the Emperor of Luck starts in Rome, while the unlucky ones start as beasts of burden!”

“In the face of pure dumb luck, all planning is futile!”

“Don’t cry, Lu Lu, getting angry is bad for your health. We technical players shouldn’t lower ourselves to the level of these ‘lifespan-burning’ players.”

However, the subsequent developments gave Lina a harsh lesson titled ‘What Absolute God-Tier Luck Looks Like’.

Belle was indeed a mess at tower defense management, but her luck was so good it made people wonder if she was related to the dealer.

In a common [Subconscious Fork in the Road] event on the first floor, she managed to get a god-tier relic known as the ‘Miser’s Artifact’—the [Extravagant Pure Gold Goblet]!

[Extravagant Pure Gold Goblet: For every 5 Mana Prisms held, the entire team’s attack speed increases by 7!]

“Wow! Just by holding green cubes, I can increase attack speed?”

Belle’s eyes lit up as she read the relic’s description. “Doesn’t that mean if I just keep saving money and don’t spend it, my attack speed will get faster and faster? What will it look like when the attack speed reaches its limit?”

Driven by the simple yet bizarre thought of ‘watching husbandos do glitchy basic attacks,’ Belle made a decision that no veteran player would have expected when she reached the ‘Black Market of Resentment’ at the end of the first floor.

Facing the dazzling array of powerful buff relics on Koyanskaya’s shelves, Belle firmly clutched her pockets:

“Not buying! What ‘Demon God Pillar’s Tentacle’ or ‘Broken Iron Shield’? Not only are they ugly, they cost my green cubes! Spending money drops attack speed; not spending is gaining attack speed. I won’t fall for this black-hearted female CEO’s tricks!”

Thus, Belle insisted on carrying a pocket full of [Mana Prisms] without spending a single cent, transforming into the ultimate miser. She relied entirely on high-risk emergency operations and ‘Encounter’ events to sustain her run, leeching random drops from the system.

As it turned out, the dealer seemed truly moved by her obsession.

In this Roguelike mode that highly tests luck and build-making, Belle managed to leech two more ridiculous relics through post-battle drops and random events.

[Residual Feather of the Wind Fairy]: For every 5 Mana Prisms held, the entire team’s attack speed increases by 5.

[Atlas Acceleration Clock]: Every basic attack has a 50% chance to trigger an extra follow-up attack.

Lina sat before the screen, gasping sharply. Looking at the number of Mana Prisms Belle held and doing the math in her head, she felt like she was about to have a mental breakdown.

Including the previous Golden Goblet, the attack speed of these ‘eye-candy husbandos’ in Belle’s team had likely transcended the comprehension of carbon-based lifeforms!

But that wasn’t even the most ridiculous part.

In a random event on the second floor, because Belle was a total’story-mode player,’ her eyes welled up when she encountered the [Sage in the Prison Cell] event and saw the dying Abbé Faria locked in a cell.

“The old grandpa is so pitiful; he’s been locked up for so long. Although the option says saving him costs 3 Hope, how could I have the heart to ignore him? Just take it!”

Belle chose to save him without hesitation and obtained the damaged relic [Worn Treasure Map].

On the fourth floor, she encountered the [Mirage] event. Seeing the sad phantom of Mercédès, Belle’s maternal instincts flared up even more.

“So she was the Count’s former lover? *Sniff*, this is too sad. I’ll give you this old map as a memento!”

Belle handed over the treasure map without a second thought, accidentally completing two steps of a very difficult puzzle and successfully upgrading the relic to [Mercédès’s Silver Cross].

Watching Belle stumble her way into unlocking the second ending purely through maternal sentiment, Lina fell into a state of deep self-doubt.

“This… this works too?”

The recording’s progress bar finally reached the end of the fifth floor.

As the screen darkened, the giant stitched monster did not appear in the wide dungeon square. Instead, it was the [Avenger] The Count of Monte Cristo, clad in a green coat and burning with dark black flames!

“He’s here! They say this hidden boss moves at insane speeds and releases full-screen black lightning that clears the board. You can’t beat him without a systematic control chain!”

Lina held her breath and stared intently at the screen. She wanted to see how Belle’s ‘eye-candy squad,’ which had zero crowd control, would meet its end.

At this moment, Belle let out a fangirl-like sigh in the stream.

“Ahhhh! It’s Hubby Count! So handsome! Those black flames, that cold gaze!”

On the battlefield, the The Count of Monte Cristo slowly raised his head, his crimson eyes locking onto the defensive line ahead.

“Master of Chaldea. Since you have touched the abyss of this prison…”

The The Count of Monte Cristo crouched slightly, assuming his highly oppressive combat stance as black lightning surged wildly around him:

“Then let me see if you are qualified to transcend this despair named Reven—”

“Hubby Count! Please accept my heavy love!! Everyone, charge! Give him the most magnificent welcome!”

Before the Count could even finish his high-tier cool line, Belle had excitedly dumped all her accumulated Servants at the intersection!

In the next second, all the veteran players in the stream, as well as Lina in front of her screen, witnessed the most unforgettable, absurd, and hilarious visual spectacle of their tower defense gaming lives.
