I Pick up a Lost Godhood

Chapter 694 675: A Princess's Visit

  • Next Chapter

Tower 76 was broken through by the Reincarnation Immortal Venerable. The levels beyond that are currently being spearheaded by the Three Immortals, but they too have reached their limit, supposedly at the eighty-somethingth floor. To advance further isn't something one or two people could accomplish. It would likely require the combined forces of the Three Immortals, the Five Emperors, and perhaps even the Seven Extremes. However, no one currently possesses the influence to unite them, especially since the relationships between these powerful figures are incredibly complex.

For instance, the Three Immortals appear to be at peace on the surface, but they have their own conflicts. However, all three possess vast influence and power, having reached the pinnacle of this plane. A single move from them could affect the entire situation. To maintain the strength of their respective factions, they focus most of their energy on training the next generation of disciples. Currently, the Spirit Control Association is somewhat ahead of the curve, having discovered a descendant of the Celestial Spirit Race.

The Pill Immortal Alliance has its own unique advantages and thus maintains a steady, unhurried pace. The Divine Artifact Pavilion, on the other hand, currently seems to be the weakest of the three major powers.

Master Wang fed Little Flower a Pill and could clearly feel its body recovering. It seemed using the right medicine for the ailment was key. This recent outburst had been an incredible experience for the Plant Element creature, but it also needed some time to recuperate. Although it hadn't advanced in rank, Wang Meng didn't care at all. What mattered was the awakening of Little Flower's intelligence.

By absorbing that sliver of divinity, Little Flower, just like Nine Discount, now possessed limitless potential.

With Little Flower's steady recovery, Wang Meng's large courtyard became a world of joy. For some unknown reason, the brothers Wang Ang and Wang Hantian were plotting something and didn't bother him. The rest of the Wang Family also kept their distance from Wang Meng due to his performance at the clan assessment, which was precisely the effect he wanted. Of course, there was one exception: Wang Shifeng.

This fellow, despite his title as an elder, would drop by to visit Wang Meng from time to time, leaving Wang Meng not knowing whether to laugh or cry. Fortunately, he was perceptive enough to disappear immediately whenever Wang Meng was busy.

Old Horse was actually a bit temperamental; whether it wanted to play depended entirely on its mood. But Nine Discount and the others didn't care about any of that. After getting familiar with Old Horse, they loved to pester it. Wang Meng knew that Old Horse's background was anything but ordinary. The five little ones could faintly sense it, and even more so after gaining a sliver of divinity. They could perceive Old Horse's extraordinariness much more clearly now. It was just that Old Horse's current situation was as pathetic as his own.

He himself had been reduced to this state by the Dao Laws. He wondered what kind of power could have forced Old Horse into such a miserable predicament. But Old Horse hadn't given up either.

Zuojing and Youjing had already integrated into this big family. The two sisters had never dreamed they would be so lucky—favored by the heavens with an easygoing master who wasn't a lecher, a group of adorable True Essence Beasts, and a very-full-of-character Old Horse.

It was a strange combination, but they all got along harmoniously. Zuojing and Youjing had become completely free-reign housekeepers. The sisters were deeply grateful and took care of the household with dedication, saving Wang Meng a great deal of trouble.

'It's clear these two sisters come from some kind of notable background. They have a foundation in cultivation, too. It was probably some family tragedy that led them to their current situation.'

Meanwhile, Wang Meng entered his Heart Spirit World. He already had a direction. The so-called lack of Five Elements was, in fact, a state of Chaos. This didn't mean he possessed the power of a god; quite the opposite. Because Chaos was a power only gods could wield, for a mortal Cultivator, it was a complete burden.

Even Moo Shan and Wangtian, who possessed Demigod Godhood, had to push their Five Elements Power to the absolute limit.

In Master Wang's view, the Dao Laws were simply shameless. The more he learned, the more difficult he realized it was. The power of Chaos had to first be broken down into the power of Yin-Yang Reincarnation, and only then could it become Five Elements Power.

This was a massive hurdle. For someone like Mingren, it might have been a bit easier, but for Wang Meng, it was a monumental challenge.

Wang Meng's current approach was to attempt a reversal.

How could Five Elements Power be reversed into the power of Yin-Yang, and the power of Yin-Yang be reversed into the power of Chaos? If he could find a way to do this, there would be a solution for transforming his power into Five Elements Power. Moreover, if he succeeded, he would also break through a bottleneck.

The temptation was immense, but so were the difficulties laid out before him.

Master Wang had no other method. His time in the Divine Space had been one attempt, and he couldn't relax now that he was back. He couldn't afford to miss any experience that might lead to an opportunity.

This kind of comprehension couldn't be actively sought; it required a moment of sudden enlightenment, a flash of inspiration—something utterly ethereal and unpredictable.

Fortunately, Master Wang had honed his patience over the years. At the same time, he needed to properly study the process of how Godhood power was unleashed, as well as his own Fate Grid Seed. That little thing was still stubbornly motionless.

Resolving the issue with his Fate Grid was also a pressing matter for Master Wang. A dual Fate Grid would surely be heaven-defying and create some kind of opportunity. Perhaps then he would find a solution.

For now, all Master Wang could do was nurture this Fate Grid Seed with his Heart Spirit, hoping that one day it would sprout.

Although the Fate Grid Seed was incredibly stubborn, Wang Meng's own pure Heart Spirit still had some nourishing effect on it.

It was a process that required patience.

An unexpected guest appeared outside Wang Meng's gate. There had been plenty of drama in Haojing lately. Yan Luoqi had shown up and was said to be aggressively pursuing Fairy Han. This man was as wealthy as a nation, handsome and dashing, had a great personality, and was powerful to boot. Combined with his mysterious air, he ranked first among the dream lovers of Haojing's women and was a strong contender for Fairy Han's affection.

In addition, Ji Shuangtian, perhaps spurred on by Yan Luoqi, was no longer passive and had begun to take the initiative. As a man of royal blood and the most likely candidate to become the next Emperor of Great Zhou, his status was undeniably noble. For Han Chuxue, however, such a secular identity didn't add many points. After all, she belonged to the Spirit Control Association, one of the three factions of the Three Immortals Association. It was a neutral organization with a revered status, and the Imperial Family's power held no particular advantage in this regard.

But Ji Shuangtian himself was indeed focused and had no scandals to his name. He had inherited the Ji Family's bloodline traits: tall, cold, and imposing, which was very effective. Furthermore, the imperial aura he had cultivated since childhood was quite charming.

The other suitor was Master Wang. Of course, his reputation hadn't improved at all. His performance at the Dao Field was now seen as nothing more than grandstanding. He was accused of luring Fairy Han with empty words. As for the conversation between Han Chuxue and Wang Meng, everyone present knew what had happened, but no one was willing to admit it. It seemed that slandering and discrediting Wang Meng had become some kind of trend.

Master Wang stayed behind closed doors, which allowed him to avoid this whirlpool of drama. Soon, the competition between Yan Luoqi and Ji Shuangtian became the main topic of conversation, and their constant public displays were a source of endless gossip.

The unexpected guest paced back and forth at the gate a few times. Seeing that no one was around, she finally went inside.

Zuojing sized up the oddly dressed girl in front of her. 'This disguise is terrible.'

"Miss, who are you looking for?"

"Ah, how did you know I was a girl?" the girl asked, slightly incredulous.

Youjing couldn't help but smile. "Your disguise is too poor. Anyone can tell."

"No wonder everyone was looking at me so strangely on the way here. Oh well. Tell Wang Meng I'm here to see him."

"And you are?" Zuojing had to ask for clarity.

"Just tell him the person he went fishing with is here!" the Little Princess said.

She really couldn't hold back any longer. She was a curious person by nature, and after such a huge incident, she couldn't even sleep well at night.

A moment later, Zuojing came back out. "Miss, please come in."

Ji Jin'Er blinked. 'That Wang Meng... he knows I'm here and doesn't even come out to greet me personally. He's got some nerve.'

Taking long strides, Ji Jin'Er arrived in the inner courtyard.

In the courtyard, a few small creatures were playing around. Ji Jin'Er's eyes immediately landed on Big Mouth. Lately, Big Mouth had been pestering Old Horse and had learned something, as its body was becoming more and more translucent, like jade, shimmering brightly under the sun... The Little Princess clearly had a thing for shiny objects.

"What an adorable Water Spirit Beast! Come here and let me give you a hug."

Big Mouth glanced at Little Jin'Er, ignored her, and scurried behind Nine Discount. Despite its big mouth, it was actually a bit shy.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of Your Highness's visit to my humble abode?" Wang Meng said with a smile, though he was muttering to himself internally. 'I have a bad feeling about this.'

Little Jin'Er looked up and saw Wang Meng standing beside Nine Discount. "Wang Meng, you dared to deceive me! What should your punishment be?"

"Your Highness, what are you talking about? When have I ever deceived you?" Wang Meng chuckled. He felt conflicted. Wang Rencai had left him in an impossible situation, one that was completely contrary to Master Wang's own personality. But if he were to admit to all the accusations, Master Wang would truly be doomed.

Ji Jin'Er thought about it for a moment. 'It seems I never actually asked him, and he never actually lied. This is a bit tricky. I came here to hold him accountable.'

"You peeked on me while I was bathing! What should your punishment be for that?!" Ji Jin'Er threw out her trump card.

Wang Meng shrugged helplessly. The matter with Ji Jin'Er was actually easier to explain. "Your Highness, think about it. How old were you back then? What was there to see?"

Ji Jin'Er thought about it and realized he was right. How had she overlooked such a crucial point? She was just a very, very small child back then. She had only believed he had peeked because everyone else said so.

"I had too much to drink that day and took a wrong turn. I was beaten to a pulp before I even got through the door. Say what you will about other matters, but on this one, I was completely and utterly wronged."

Master Wang lamented. Wang Rencai was a professional scapegoat, but he himself had no such hobby.

"Then why didn't you explain yourself?" Ji Jin'Er asked, tilting her head. Logically speaking, his story was quite believable.

Wang Meng smiled. "Would explaining have done any good? If you believe me, you believe me. If you don't, there's nothing I can do. Now, if you were bathing *now*, I might actually be tempted to take a peek."

He was teasing Ji Jin'Er to get her to leave quickly, but unexpectedly, she just nodded matter-of-factly. "I'm so beautiful that if you *didn't* want to look, there would be something wrong with you."

A drop of sweat rolled down Wang Meng's forehead. 'What kind of logic is that?'

"Alright, since the misunderstanding is cleared up, that's all that matters. I don't care about your other business. Anyway, our slate is clean. It's a good thing this princess is strong-willed, otherwise my young heart might have been psychologically scarred."

Wang Meng said with feeling, "Your Highness is a once-in-a-generation talent, truly unmatched."

Since Ji Jin'Er was being so magnanimous, he generously returned the favor with some flattery of his own.

Not far away, Old Horse snorted, its nostrils pointed at the sky, clearly mocking someone for sucking up.

"But... you must keep it a secret that we know each other. If Seventh Sister finds out, I'll definitely be grounded. What on earth did you do to her? She acts like she has an irreconcilable blood feud with you."

Ji Jin'Er's curiosity had flared up again.
