I Pick up a Lost Godhood

Chapter 623 - 604: The Eight Saints

  • Next Chapter

"Little Yu, you must be quite a prominent figure over at the Spirit Control Association, right?"

Jiang Biyao knew she was destined to spend her entire life in Wang City, but Muhe Xiaoyu was different. She was still young, yet her potential was limitless. She had already been certified as a Fourth-Grade Spirit-Controlling Master, and her Cultivation had reached the Ninth Layer of the Profound Wheel Realm. It was enough to make anyone envious. Her future was bound to be far grander, and if she were lucky, she could even become a Princess Consort.

The relationship between the Jiang Family and the Muhe Clan was nothing special. However, the friendship between Jiang Biyao and Muhe Xiaoyu was enough to ensure the Muhe Clan wouldn’t kick the Jiangs while they were down. Her two older brothers had even urged Jiang Biyao to strengthen this bond. Jiang Biyao felt quite helpless about it all. For her, growing up was not a happy experience. Sometimes, she really envied Muhe Xiaoyu. A powerful family gave Xiaoyu more control over her own destiny, and her superior talent opened up a much wider world. As for her? She had no choice at all.

Muhe Xiaoyu gave a wry smile. "I thought so too when I first arrived, but... I don’t even rank."

Jiang Biyao was shocked. "That’s impossible! With our Little Yu’s talent and beauty, you should be taking Haojing by storm."

Muhe Xiaoyu smiled. "I don’t stand a chance. The standards in a place like Haojing are incredibly high. There are only eight people who have earned the admiration of everyone: the Eight Sky-Reaching Saints!"

"What a grand title. Who would dare call themselves the Eight Saints?" Jiang Biyao asked curiously. She had assumed Muhe Xiaoyu was just being modest. In her eyes, Little Yu was an absolute beauty, hailed from a good family, and was a genius Spirit-Controlling Master. While Wang City couldn’t compare to Haojing, her combination of talents was by no means lacking.

Muhe Xiaoyu tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Those eight really do live up to the name. One of them is my idol, in fact."

"Oh? If they’re that amazing, I’ll have to hear if they truly live up to the hype. Who could possibly be our Little Yu’s idol!"

As a member of the Spirit Control Association’s headquarters, Muhe Xiaoyu’s perspective was on the entire Divinity Continent. Her worldview was naturally on a different level.

At the mention of those eight individuals, Muhe Xiaoyu couldn’t help but reveal a look of longing.

"Han Chuxue of the Celestial Spirit Race, nicknamed the Spirit Saint. She reached the Spirit-Controlling Mastery Grandmaster Realm before the age of twenty—the first in history. Even for the Celestial Spirit Race, that’s an exceptionally rare accomplishment."

Jiang Biyao’s jaw nearly dropped, and she drew in a sharp breath. She didn’t doubt it for a second, though. The Celestial Spirit Race was known across the continent as a miraculous people. They were uniquely blessed by the heavens; both men and women possessed stunning looks, an unparalleled natural affinity, and immense talent for Beast Taming. Their relationship with the Spirit Control Association was also inextricably linked.

"She’s my idol, and also the greatest beauty in all of Great Zhou."

"Really? Is she that beautiful? I heard the Seventh Princess was the greatest beauty." Women love to gossip, and when it came to looks, they absolutely had to get the rankings straight.

"It’s different, Sister. I’ve never seen the Seventh Princess, but there are indeed Three Great Beauties of Haojing. Han Chuxue isn’t included among them because her beauty is otherworldly, beyond anything in the mortal realm." Muhe Xiaoyu’s face was full of yearning. "I once received guidance from her. Sister, that was the first time I ever felt inadequate in front of another girl."

Muhe Xiaoyu wasn’t embarrassed. Instead, she recalled the memory with a look of adoration in her eyes. In her heart, Han Chuxue was the noblest and most beautiful girl in the world.

Jiang Biyao stuck her tongue out playfully. "She’s that incredible? What about the other seven? Are they all that amazing?"

"If you consider Han Chuxue the leading disciple of the Spirit Control Association, then there’s Ni Yong. He’s the head disciple of the Pill Immortal Alliance’s leader and a twenty-eight-year-old Pill Cultivation Master. He’s so extraordinarily talented that he has already developed his own unique line of True Essence Beast Pills. His nickname is the Pill Saint. Just as famous is Zhuo Meng from the Divine Artifact Pavilion, who has crowned himself the Fierce Saint. He’s the son of the Pavilion Master, not even thirty years old, and is supposedly already a Quasi-Refining Master."

Jiang Biyao’s horizons were truly being broadened. She felt as if she had been a frog in a well. In her eyes, someone like Wu Yuan was already an extraordinary genius, but the gap between him and people like Ni Yong and Zhuo Meng was as vast as the heavens and the earth. ’I wonder what kind of girls they like...’

"Then there are the Ice Saint, Ji Shuangtian; the Golden Saint, Yanl Luoqi; the Fire Saint, Yuan Juhuo of the Yuan Family; the Purple Saint, Meng Ningzi; and the Mad Saint, Zhang Yang. They are the foremost representatives of the Five Elements Life Wheel in Great Zhou. The Third Prince, Ji Shuangtian, is the Ice Saint. He possesses the rare Celestial Ice Body, the ultimate expression of the Water Element Life Wheel, and his Cultivation is astonishing. The Golden Saint, Yanl Luoqi, is known as the number one Hunter. Legend says he is a disciple of the Golden Emperor, but no one knows his true origins. He’s suave and wealthy, a famous man-about-town in Haojing, and is a master of the four arts—zither, Go, calligraphy, and painting. His knowledge is vast, he’s versed in all the strange tales of the continent, and he made his name in a battle against the Fire Saint, Yuan Juhuo."

"Yuan Juhuo is from the Yuan Family? Their old ancestor has returned, so Yuan Juhuo’s power must be about to soar!"

"Heh, not necessarily. I heard His Majesty prepared a grand banquet specifically for the Fire Emperor. Almost all the outstanding young cultivators with a Fire Element Life Wheel attended, but the Fire Emperor didn’t take a fancy to any of them. The Wang Family, however, is definitely going to be suppressed."

"I heard a rumor about that. Apparently, if the Yuan Family hadn’t produced the Fire Emperor, their strength wouldn’t even compare to the Wang Family’s."

"Heh, we’ll only know for sure if they fight. Among the three great families of Haojing, the Wang Family ranks first and the Meng Family second. Even with the Fire Emperor, the Yuan Family can only rank third. Of course, whether or not the Fire Emperor is in Haojing makes a huge difference. Meng Ningzi of the Meng Family is one of Haojing’s Three Great Beauties. She has a Celestial Wood Life Body, and because of her love for purple clothes, she became known as the Purple Saint. The last one is Zhang Yang, who possesses an Earth Life Body. Legend says that people with this body type can draw endless power just by standing on the ground. As you can imagine, he’s extremely belligerent. His whereabouts are often unknown, which is a real headache for everyone. His nickname is the Mad Saint."

"Who is the strongest out of the eight?" Jiang Biyao asked, filled with curiosity.

"That’s what everyone in Haojing wants to know. I think our Fairy Han is the strongest!"

"But... isn’t she a Spirit-Controlling Master?"

"Heh, Sister, truly powerful Spirit-Controlling Masters, Artifact Refiners, and Pill Masters are all top-tier experts in their own right. And because of the advantages their professions provide, the higher their cultivation realm, the more it helps. That’s why people talk about the Three Immortals and Five Emperors. Notice how the Three Immortals come first."

"Now that you’ve said all that, I really want to meet this peerless Fairy."

"Fairy Han prefers secluded cultivation. I’ve only ever met her once."

"Sigh, why are we talking about her? We should be paying more attention to the outstanding young men and see which one is worthy of our Little Yu. I think the Third Prince would be a good match."

Muhe Xiaoyu’s face instantly reddened. "Sister, don’t joke around. To be honest, I have no interest in the Royal Family at all. A life without freedom isn’t necessarily a happy one. I want to find someone I can truly admire. His family background and looks don’t matter. As long as he has a noble character and I can respect him, that’s all that matters."

"Little girl’s got love on her mind! Don’t you worry. If there’s someone you set your sights on, your big sister will help you strategize. I refuse to believe there’s any mountain our Little Yu can’t conquer!"

Muhe Xiaoyu smiled faintly. She knew that in Wang City, she was indeed considered a favored daughter of heaven, but the world outside was just too vast. She never made such comparisons, though. ’No matter your status, you have your own troubles. It doesn’t necessarily mean one person is happier than another.’

’I want to find my own happiness. If I truly find it, I will give everything I have to pursue it.’ (To be continued.)
