I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

Chapter 1344 - Whose Fault Is It?

Chapter 1344: Whose Fault Is It?

The Golden Void Lightning’s words exploded in An Lin’s mind.

He shuddered and fell into a daze as he recollected all of the gruesome scenes of sufferings and deaths he had witnessed.

“I… I killed them?

“No! I was trying to save them!

“I was only trying to save their lives!”

An Lin clasped his hands to his head, and he shook his head relentlessly as he yelled.

“Save them?” The Golden Void Lightning spoke in a cold voice, “Look at all those people that have been impaled by sabers. They are all the people you abandoned.”

An Lin looked down at the countless bodies below. All of them had sabers pierced through them and had died extremely gruesome deaths, and their blood stained the entire ground below crimson.

This hellish scene of slaughter was presented to An Lin mercilessly.

Despair and death were all that remained.

“I… I did this?” An Lin murmured to himself.

“That’s right. These are all those who were ‘rescued’ by you…” The Golden Void Lightning’s demonic voice pulled An Lin toward the abyss of no return. “You did all of this. You killed ten thousand people!”

“No! It wasn’t me! I didn’t do this!

“I didn’t want this to happen…

“I’m not responsible for their deaths…”

An Lin looked down at all of the gruesome bodies below, and tears of crushing remorse flowed from his eyes.

“You were sacrificing people during the process in which you rescued others. Hence, you were unable to save anyone in the end. You made all those decisions to kill all of these people!” The living Golden Void Lightning cackled.

“Do you know how much pain and despair they experienced before their deaths… Should I show you?”

Boundless agony and negative emotions flowed instantly into An Lin’s mind.

An Lin was struck by heartwrenching agony, and he collapsed to the ground, wailing with anguish.

There were simply too much pain and negative emotions for a mortal body to bear.

An Lin felt as if he was about to collapse. His eyes glazed over, and his heart was filled with guilt, pain, and remorse. “They all died because of me? I killed all of them? Ten thousand lives… I deserve to die!”

He drew his Evil-Slaying Sword and was just about to commit suicide.

However, he suddenly realized something, and his eyes regained clarity.

“No! You are the one who killed them!” An Lin raised his head with flaming wrath in his eyes. “You put the humans there, and you made me choose! I had no other choice, and I only wanted to save them! They’ll understand my true intentions!”

“They’ll understand?” The Golden Void Lightning cackled. “Alright then, let me show you whether they’ll understand your decisions… Come on out, dead souls!”

All of a sudden, countless perished spirits rose up from the bodies on the ground.

After learning about what had happened, all of them pounced toward An Lin.

“Howl! It’s you! Why did you abandon me? Was it just because I was standing on the side with the minority?!” a vengeful spirit screeched as it flew toward An Lin.

“What gives you the right to decide whether I live or die? I didn’t want to die… How could you be so cruel…” A female ghost flew toward him while extending her vicious claws.

“You killed me, so you have to pay with your life!” A malevolent ghost hurtled toward him.

Countless vengeful spirits unleashed their pent-up emotions as they scratched and clawed at An Lin.

An Lin curled up into a ball, and his entire body was soon riddled with wounds.

“Big Brother…” a clear, crisp voice sounded.

An Lin looked up to discover a little girl standing before him.

She was the little girl who he had chosen to save as his final choice.

The little girl stared at An Lin, and she suddenly smiled.

“Big Brother… You’re such a bad person. You killed so many people, and you even killed my grandma. You really… deserve to die!”

The little girl plunged a dagger viciously into An Lin’s chest!

“A demon like you should not exist in this world! Die!” A ruthless smile appeared on the little girl’s face.

Searing agony shot through An Lin’s chest, and his eyes were filled with pain and remorse.

“Hahaha… Do you see now? All of these living beings hate you! You were trying to save them? That may be the case, but no one thinks that!” The living Golden Void Lightning crackled with laughter, as if it was celebrating something.

“You’re right. No one is grateful to me. Everyone thinks I should die. But what else could I have done…” An Lin smiled as tears of blood flowed from his eyes.

“You actually have another choice,” the Golden Void Lightning suddenly said.

“Wh… what is it?” An Lin’s body shuddered slightly, as if he was trying to make one final, desperate bid for redemption.

The Golden Void Lightning spoke with a smile in its voice, “You could’ve chosen not to save them from the start and to let them all die!”

An Lin’s heart jolted. “Let them all die?”

“That’s right. This is the nature of humans. They won’t understand you, they don’t know your pain and struggle. If you made those choices that let them die, they would vent all of their resentment and rage upon you.

“But if you hadn’t done anything and just let them die, they can only blame fate. How could they blame you?”

A peculiar feeling welled up in An Lin’s heart upon hearing this.

“There is no point in saving humans as they don’t deserve to be saved, isn’t that right?” A hint of coercion appeared in the Golden Void Lightning’s apathetic voice.

“Humans don’t deserve to be saved…” An Lin’s eyes were glazed over as he repeated the Golden Void Lightning’s words in a monotonous voice.

“Yes, just let them all die.

“Rescuing one side will make you someone who deserves to die for the other side. In that case, you might as well go with the flow,” the Golden Void Lightning continued.

“You’re right. They’re all going to die anyway, so why did I insist on being some stupid savior… I went through so much pain and turmoil for them, only to have them condemned me as vengeful spirits…” An Lin chortled as he coughed up mouthfuls of blood.

Bolts of Golden Void Lightning fell from the sky, tearing the ten thousand vengeful spirits apart!

An Lin dragged his wounded body to its feet before looking up at the Golden Void Lightning before him.

The Golden Void Lightning was only about half the size of a grown man.

Even though it was quite small in stature, it appeared to possess a high level of intelligence.

A burst of paramount lightning might erupted forth, making one feel as if they were impossibly insignificant and tiny in its wake.

“You are the sole essential Golden Void Lightning in this world?” An Lin murmured.

“That’s right, and I’m very happy to make your acquaintance.” The Golden Void Lightning’s voice was imbued with a brainwashing quality as it said, “Humans are going to be extinct sooner or later, so just let them die. They don’t deserve salvation anyway…”

An Lin didn’t know how they had arrived at this topic of conversation.

However, for some reason, he felt like the Golden Void Lightning’s words were quite reasonable.

The Golden Void Lightning adopted a humanoid form before extending a hand. “An Lin, you don’t belong to the human race. Come with me.”
