I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

Chapter 1262 - The Rock Golem’s Question

Chapter 1262: The Rock Golem’s Question

Da Bai was astonished.

How was it possible that this guy’s aura was so faint? He hadn’t noticed such a gargantuan creature even though he was right next to it!

“Senior?” Xu Xiaolan thought the rock golem hadn’t heard them the first time, so she called in a faint voice.

The humanoid rock creature before them was a member of the Stone Tribe.

She could sense an ethereal aura from within the body of this living being.

“I can hear what you’re saying. Please bear with me for a moment as I bid farewell to the sun,” a slow and heavy voice sounded.

An Lin and Xu Xiaolan both faltered momentarily upon hearing this.

Bid farewell to the sun?

Both of them turned in unison to the sky in the distance, where the sun was slowly setting into the clouds, making the clouds appear as if they had been set alight.

They were already situated above the clouds.

The summit of this divine mountain was situated at an even higher altitude than the layers of clouds.

It had to be said that this sunset was very beautiful to behold.

An Lin and the others stood silently beside the rock golem as they watched the sunset.

The Stone Tribe living being stayed still for two whole hours, as if it really were an inanimate stone. Not only were they unable to hear its breathing, even its vital signs and life force energy seemed to have disappeared.

Everyone had to remind themselves from time to time that the pile of stones before them was a living being. Otherwise, they were in danger of mistaking it for an inanimate pile of stones.

The rock golem sat on the ground completely stationary even as snowflakes began to settle on its head. A little ice bug on the ground below crawled up its arm and onto its neck, but it still remained completely stationary…

It was actually quite a peculiar sight to behold.

The sun slowly disappeared from below the clouds and descended toward the horizon.

Heaven and earth fell dark.

The moon and stars replaced the sun in the sky.

The Stone Tribe living being suddenly heaved a faint sigh. “Farewell, Big Sister Sun.”

An Lin and Xu Xiaolan: “???”

Shouldn’t it be Grandpa Sun[1]?

However, no one had ever seen the sun, so it could refer to the sun however it liked.

After bidding farewell to the sun, the rock golem finally stood up and brushed off some of the snow and ice from its body before turning to An Lin and the others with curiosity on its face. “Hello there, guests from afar. My apologies for that short delay.”

Two hours was a short delay?

“That’s alright, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset as well,” An Lin said with a smile.

“My Big Sister Sun is always so beautiful. I would greet her during the day, and we would separate at night,” the rock golem said in a slow voice.

An Lin: “…”

“An Lin, is this rock golem a retard? I think we should go.”

Xu Xiaolan surreptitiously transmitted her voice.

“Let’s ask some questions first. This rock golem should know some things.” An Lin felt like this rock golem could be of use to them.

Hence, An Lin looked up at the rock golem before speaking in a gentle voice, “Senior, we are here to look for a hidden sect on this divine mountain. Have you seen any peculiar places on this mountain where they could be?”

Upon hearing this, the rock golem looked up at the stars before extending its arms. “My voice, my call, my pursuit, can the stars in the sky hear it?”

An Lin: “???”

Did he just get ignored?

An Lin was a little angry and turned around to leave.

At this moment, the rock golem suddenly spoke again.

“If you can answer a question from me, I’ll answer your question.”

“Please state your question, Senior.” An Lin was intrigued upon hearing this.

“But please don’t ask questions like who am I, where do I come from, and what is the purpose of my existence,” Xu Xiaolan added.

“Don’t worry, I won’t ask you for answers to any of those three Stone Tribe eternal conundrums,” the rock golem replied with a smile.

Everyone was shocked to hear this. So there really were living beings that pondered those questions? And they were supposed to be the three Stone Tribe eternal conundrums?

That sounded really bad*ss!

The rock golem sat on the edge of the cliff as it looked at the stars in the sky. In the end, it turned toward the two moons in the sky before speaking in a slow voice, “I often sit here with no one to talk to, so I think about some strange questions.”

An Lin, Xiaolan, Tina, and Da Bai were all ready to listen.

The rock golem continued, “The world is vast and boundless, and there are infinite secrets in outer space…”

“Please get to the point,” An Lin urged.

The rock golem continued in its slow voice, “This world is extremely big, and there are definitely powerful beings outside of our imagination. The path to pursuing dao is endless to us, but has there ever been a creature that has reached the end of that path? Would reaching the end make one an omnipotent god?”

“Senior, you said one question before, but you’re asking two here!” Xu Xiaolan raised her hand.

The rock golem scratched its head. “My question has two sub-questions.”

Xu Xiaolan: “…”

An Lin: “…”

What a shameless rock golem!

Everyone fell into deep thought about the first question.

No one could say whether there had been a living being that had reached the end of dao!

After all, how were they supposed to know before they reached that level?

This would be like back when An Lin was a mortal and had never even seen a cultivator. If someone told him there were people capable of easily moving mountains and filling seas, he would just scoff at the absurdity of the idea.

The level someone was at determined how broad their horizons were.

A cultivator of An Lin’s level did not dare to guess what was at the end of dao.

Xu Xiaolan was in the same boat. Not only her, but even her Dao Integration Stage uncle wouldn’t dare to make this assumption.

However, Da Bai suddenly spoke at this moment and answered both questions in one breath, “No living being has ever reached the end of dao, and there are no omniscient, omnipotent gods!”

An Lin and Xu Xiaolan were shocked.

The rock golem leaned forward with intrigue. “Oh? Why do you say that?”

Da Bai clapped his paw to his chest as he replied, “Because I’ve never seen one before! What I have seen is the entire world. Hence, something I have not seen does not exist in my world, which means they don’t exist at all, woof!”

What kind of explanation was that?

An Lin and Xu Xiaolan both felt like Da Bai had gone crazy.

However, the rock golem’s eyes lit up with a thoughtful expression. “I see. I think, therefore I am. A world with myself as the core is one that I can acknowledge to be real. If something does not exist in my reality, then it does not exist at all. This is a very good explanation!”

The rock golem looked at Da Bai with an appreciative smile.

An Lin and Xu Xiaolan felt like they had to look at Da Bai through new eyes. What a philosophical dog!

Da Bai wagged his tail with a smug expression at the sight of the shock expressions etched on An Lin and Xu Xiaolan’s faces, feeling like he was very bad*ss.

However, right at this moment.

The rock golem thought about it for a moment before speaking again, “Even though this answer can explain my question, it’s still not enough to convince me. Are there any other answers?”

It was asking for other answers?!

Everyone’s heart sank. They were thinking they could rely on Da Bai’s bullsh*t theory to placate the rock golem, but it looked like that was not going to work.

Da Bai was very angry. This rock golem was being far too difficult!

Just as everyone fell into deep thought again, a crisp, pleasant voice sounded, “Um, Little Na has an answer.”

[1] The sun is often depicted in Chinese children’s picture books as a kindly old man.
