Chapter 89: Chapter 88: Annoying Pest, Good Morning

And so, Shu Chao Yu had begged Shu Yao to go to the product launch in his stead.

Even if she couldn’t get the limited edition, just bringing back a new product would be good enough.

Watching Shu Chao Yu leave, Shu Yao suddenly remembered someone saying last night that her younger uncle would be very busy.

’So... is this what they call abuse of power for personal gain?’

Shu Yao observed two seconds of silence for her uncle.

Soon after, she received a message from Qin Shiwei. Shu Yao hurried Xiao Juzi along, "Sweetie, are you changed? Your dad is waiting for us outside."

Xiao Juzi shot out with a WHOOSH, one suspender strap hanging loosely at his side, not yet fastened.

Shu Xin chased after him to fix it.

"Why does that meanie have to come with us?" Xiao Juzi’s eyes were full of displeasure, his childish voice laced with rejection.

"Since you don’t want to go with Dad, you can stay home with Grandma. The two of us will go." Shu Yao didn’t want to bring this third wheel along anyway.

Seeing his mom about to leave, Xiao Juzi ran over—PATTER PATTER PATTER—and hugged her leg. Though still huffing with anger, he had compromised.

"Mommy, don’t leave me behind!"

’I’ll just ignore that meanie!’

At that moment, Qin Shiwei, wearing a disguise device, was waiting outside the Shu Family’s home. When he saw the woman emerge with Xiao Juzi, his previously calm gaze softened into a gentle, smiling warmth.

He didn’t forget to nod a greeting to Shu Xin, who had seen the mother and son out.

"Ma’am, good morning."

"Ah Bao, good morning to you too." Noticing her little grandson’s face was still full of rejection toward his biological father, Shu Xin felt a bit helpless. She tentatively prompted Zaizai, "Sweetie, say ’Dad’."

"Hmph~" Xiao Juzi turned his head away forcefully, a look on his face that clearly said, "I am not happy to see you."

Qin Shiwei didn’t seem to mind.

"Don’t you know how to greet people?" Shu Yao adopted the stern air of a mother with her little one. "Where are your manners?"

Xiao Juzi’s lips trembled in a pout. He slowly tilted his head up to look at the plain-looking man, his big, dark eyes flashing slyly.

"Meanie, good morning!"

After speaking, he quickly hid behind his grandma, sticking his tongue out and making faces at the slightly stunned man in constant provocation.

Shu Yao laughed in exasperation. "Fine! Then you can just stay home with Grandma!"

Xiao Juzi panicked. He ran over and clutched his mom’s pant leg with his little hands, looking terrified of being left behind. Yet, he angrily stomped a foot in the man’s direction, warning him not to come any closer.

The little one was full of emotions, prone to throwing a tantrum at any moment.

"Say goodbye to Grandma."

Xiao Juzi turned and waved his little hands at Shu Xin.

"Bye-bye, Grandma." Seeing his grandmother’s lonely expression, he couldn’t help but add, "Mommy and I will be back soon."

"Okay, okay!" Shu Xin’s heart melted. "Grandma will wait for you at home!"

After taking a few steps forward, Xiao Juzi walked very slowly.

He glanced back and saw his grandma was still at the door. He suddenly stopped and tugged on Shu Yao’s finger.

"Mommy, why isn’t Grandma coming with us?"

"Because your little grand-uncle only managed to get one ticket. He gave it to Mommy, so Grandma doesn’t have one."

Tickets for the product launch were incredibly sought-after. Getting one through the online reservation system was purely a matter of speed. The moment the ticketing channel opened, they were gone in a flash. To secure a ticket, Shu Chao Yu had even practiced his clicking speed for a while, but when the time came, the tickets were gone before he could even press the button...

The single ticket he had managed to acquire cost him half a year’s salary and had already passed through several hands.

Luckily, children under seven could get in for free when accompanied by a guardian; otherwise, they wouldn’t have even been able to bring Xiao Juzi along.

Shu Xin had no interest in things like mecha; for a while, she even complained that the models Shu Chao Yu tinkered with took up too much space. That’s why when Shu Chao Yu couldn’t get away, he never thought to ask her to go to the event in his place.
