I Made Up My Family's Ancestors, and They Became Real!
Chapter 88 - 87:Emergency!
Chapter 88: Chapter 87:Emergency!
Chen Yuan did not answer right away. Instead, he slowly turned his gaze toward the masked figure.
There was no anger in his eyes, nor any obvious hostility.
He merely looked at the man as though he amounted to nothing.
Then slowly, Chen Yuan spoke.
"You... the children who have strayed from the light."
The masked man’s eyes behind the mask’s socket trembled...
"Do not tarnish this sacred land with your filthy intentions."
"Have the history has not warned your people about me?"
His voice was neither loud nor forceful. But the moment those words left his mouth, the entire area seemed to fall silent.
The spiritual energy that had been churning around the flower field suddenly became orderly, as though an invisible hand had pressed down upon the surrounding chaos.
The wind slowed, the flowers beneath them swayed gently, and even the oppressive auras of the three High Lords seemed to be compressed.
The masked man’s body stiffened.
His hands, which had been resting casually behind his back, slowly lowered to his sides, and the slight tilt of his head vanished.
He simply stared at Chen Yuan through the hollow openings of his crying mask.
"..."
The silence lasted only a few moments.
But to the cultivators observing from afar, it felt considerably longer.
"What... Is happening?"
A cultivator concealed among the trees swallowed nervously, his eyes fixed on the distant figures.
There was something about the exchange that made him feel as though he had stumbled upon a confrontation far beyond his understanding.
Beside him, another spy had already begun retreating.
He did not know who the masked man was, nor could he determine the full extent of the power he possessed.
However, the fact that such a mysterious figure had dared to approach the three Chen Family Ancestors suggested that he was strong enough.
Throughout the surrounding hills, forests, and temporary observation posts, the same unease spread among the watching cultivators.
Several spies hurriedly activated their communication talismans, their fingers trembling as they attempted to report the latest developments to their respective forces.
Others remained motionless, afraid that even the smallest movement might draw the attention of the figures in the sky.
Many of them regretted coming here today as they felt it, the storm that was rapidly coming.
The masked man remained silent for several breaths before suddenly throwing his head back and laughing.
"Hahahahaha! Interesting! Truly interesting!"
His laughter echoed across the flower field, the cultivators watching from the surrounding hills felt their hearts sink.
Something was changing.
The spiritual energy surrounding the masked man began to rise, slowly at first, before growing increasingly oppressive.
The black robe fluttered around his body as the air twisted, and the flowers beneath him were pressed flat against the earth.
Boom!
Boom!
Cracks spread across the ground, extending outward from where he stood as though the land itself could no longer bear the pressure.
A woman concealed behind a rocky outcropping stared at the distant figure, her face paled.
"Another one? Just how many monsters are gathered here?"
Her companion didn’t answer.
He had already taken out a communication talisman, hurriedly pouring spiritual energy into it while keeping his eyes fixed on the sky.
"We need to leave. Now!"
"Wait, the report isn’t finished—"
"Forget the report! Send what you have and run!"
The woman needed no further persuasion.
She activated her movement technique, and the two of them fled toward the distant hills, their figures blurring as they poured spiritual energy into their legs.
They had barely covered a short distance when the masked man’s voice suddenly rang out behind them.
"A living fossil like you... I’ve heard so much about you."
Far above the flower field, the masked man stood facing Chen Yuan, his crying mask tilted slightly upward.
"Since I’ve finally had the opportunity to meet you in person, why don’t we let this younger generation test the strength of the older generation?"
"Presumptuous!"
Chen Yan’s furious shout thundered across the sky.
The woman barely had time to wonder what would happen next before the world behind her erupted.
A blinding light splashed across the plain, and a tremendous roar shook the land, so violent that she stumbled and nearly fell.
She twisted around and saw a torrent of water surging through the sky, its enormous body twisting like a river that had been torn from the earth.
It rushed toward the masked man with terrifying speed, carrying enough force to sweep away everything in its path.
Then a fist struck the torrent.
BOOM!
The water exploded.
Countless droplets scattered across the sky, while the shock wave swept over the plain and rolled toward the surrounding hills.
The woman felt the impact against her back even from a considerable distance, and she hurriedly reinforced her protective barrier as dust and leaves spiraled around her.
"What kind of attack was that?!" she shouted.
"I don’t know! Just keep moving!"
Her companion’s voice trembled.
The battle was taking place so far above the plain that he could barely distinguish the movements, yet each collision shook the land beneath his feet.
They continued running.
Behind them, the ground suddenly trembled again.
The woman saw enormous pillars of earth erupting from in front of them...
No, these pillars were emerging from everywhere across the land!
They rose one after another, surrounding the masked man before converging upon him from several directions.
The distant plain was rapidly becoming unrecognizable as the terrain split apart, and entire patches of flowers disappeared beneath rising walls of soil and shattered stone.
But the masked man simply swept his palm outward as a furious wind swept across the sky.
The earthen pillars exploded in an earth shattering roar.
Fragments of rock scattered across the sky in intense whistling noises, and another explosion sent clouds of dust billowing over the field.
Before the debris could settle, several enormous water blades appeared above the masked man and descended toward him.
He evaded them left and right as spiritual techniques were pinched between his palms in time to counterattack.
From the woman’s distant vantage point, she could not make out the details of every exchange.
She saw only flashes of movement, followed by explosions that seemed to tear apart the sky.
Each time she thought the attacks had stopped, another collision sent a fresh shock wave across the land.
Then Chen Yan raised his palm.
"Do you think I’m weak due to my retreat from the last time?"
"Bold."
"I was simply held back at that time, and now... I will make sure you bleed."
Even from several kilometers away, the woman felt the spiritual energy gathering above the plain.
The atmosphere grew heavy, and the earth beneath her feet began to vibrate violently.
A colossal palm projection formed in the sky, its immense shadow spreading across the flower field.
"Earth Splitting Palm!"
The words clapped across the sky, carried by the wind.
The palm descended.
BOOOOOOM!
The woman was thrown off her feet as the land behind her were thrown upward in waves.
Her protective barrier flickered violently as the shock wave swept across the hillside.
She struck the ground hard, pain shooting through her shoulder, while her companion crashed into a nearby tree.
For several moments, neither could hear anything except the ringing in their ears.
When she finally managed to lift her head, the sight before her left her speechless.
The ground around the flower field had split apart.
Deep fissures stretched across the plain, and enormous sections of earth had collapsed beneath the force of the attack.
Dust obscured much of the battlefield, while the remaining flowers were flattened beneath the relentless pressure.
Yet through the dust, she could still see the two figures fighting in the sky.
The masked man had met the enormous palm with an equally powerful technique. It was a projection of 9 fold flowers as the air checked at the point of impact between the two.
And he was still standing.
"Get up!" her companion shouted, grabbing her arm. "We have to get out of here!"
She stumbled to her feet, no longer caring about maintaining her concealment or observing the battle.
Her communication talisman was still clutched tightly in her hand, its surface glowing faintly as the report continued transmitting.
She poured more spiritual energy into it, forcing the words out between ragged breaths.
"Emergency report! The Chen Family’s three Ancestors have arrived at the flower field. A mysterious masked cultivator has appeared, and he is fighting one of the Chen Family’s Ancestors directly."
"Their battle has already devastated the surrounding terrain. We cannot determine the masked man’s identity or the full extent of his strength. Requesting immediate instructions—"
The ground shook again and she nearly dropped the talisman.
"Forget the instructions!" she cried. "Just tell them not to come here!"
Her companion looked back once, his face pale.
Neither of them knew what was happening above the plain.
They fled without looking back.
