Chapter 84: Chapter 83: Successful

"Finally..."

Chen Yuan spoke with great difficulty, his voice barely audible as he struggled to steady his breathing.

He remained suspended in midair for a while, allowing his divine consciousness to recover from the ordeal.

Even after the pain had subsided, a lingering sense of emptiness remained within him.

He closed his eyes and rested for a while longer, unwilling to rush into the next step while his consciousness was still unsteady.

Only after he felt capable of concentrating again did Chen Yuan slowly open his eyes and turn his gaze toward the eight materials hovering around him.

His movements were sluggish, and even shifting his attention required more effort than usual, but he forced himself to examine the collection.

The severance was complete.

Now, it was time to give the Nameless Hand its first foundation.

Chen Yuan slowly raised his severed wrist, directing his attention toward the eight materials hovering around him.

His first instinct was to gather his spiritual energy and use it to guide the materials into the empty space where his hand had once been.

But he stopped, recalling the method inside his mind.

Chen Yuan closed his eyes and followed the method, turning his awareness inward and reaching for the pain he had accumulated throughout his life.

Under the book’s guidance, the suffering he had experienced, from the physical pain of his cultivation to the countless injuries and hardships he had endured, began to stir within him.

It was as though something buried deep inside his body had finally found a way out, and as Chen Yuan continued the process, a thick mist of darkness slowly emerged from his body.

It gathered around his body, clouding his vision In a cocoon of darkness, twisting and churning until it formed a dense cloud.

Yet Chen Yuan did not stop there. He directed his attention toward the vacant soul imprint of his severed hand.

The empty space left behind felt like a black hole, an absolute void where nothing remained, and under the method recorded in the book, he began drawing the accumulated pain and suffering of his life toward it.

The darkness immediately responded.

The thick mist was pulled toward the vacant imprint, disappearing into it as though swallowed by an endless abyss.

Chen Yuan could feel the pain he had accumulated throughout his life being drawn out of him, gathering within that emptiness.

Only when the process was complete did he turn his attention toward the eight materials.

With a thought, the eight heaven and earth materials floated into the center of the darkness.

Their surfaces gradually dissolved, releasing thir nature within it into the void.

The Scarlet Sun Crystal contributed its concentrated flame nature, while the Frostheart Jade brought its biting cold.

The Thunderheart Ore released its dormant lightning, and the Verdant Life Root, Bloodsteel Marrow, and Ninefold Mountain Stone each added their own unique properties.

Finally, Chen Yuan drew in the Emberheart Fragment.

The moment it entered the darkness, countless tiny sparks flickered within the void, appearing and disappearing like fireflies in the night.

Chen Yuan focused on the vacant soul imprint and guided the eight materials into it, allowing their different natures to merge with the accumulated pain.

Chen Yuan continued the refinement without interruption, carefully guiding the merging process as the darkness and the eight materials gradually fused together.

The process proved far more demanding than he had anticipated.

Even with the soul imprint already severed, he had to maintain absolute control over the formation to prevent the different attributes from disrupting one another.

Time passed slowly within the inheritance cave.

The light outside gradually dimmed, and before long, night had fallen.

Chen Yuan remained suspended above the platform, his attention fixed entirely on the forming hand.

Occasionally, faint sparks flickered across the mass, followed by flashes of crimson, pale blue, and silver, each colour appearing briefly before sinking beneath the dark surface.

By the time the first light of dawn reached the cave, Chen Yuan had been at it for nearly an entire day.

At last, the dark mass before him began to contract, gradually taking on a more familiar shape.

The fingers formed one by one, followed by the palm and wrist, until the final traces of darkness settled into place.

Chen Yuan slowly opened his eyes.

Before him, a hand that looked no different from the one he had lost had appeared.

Its proportions were identical, from the length of its fingers to the shape of its knuckles, and even the fine details of its skin appeared completely natural.

At first glance, there was nothing unusual about it at all.

Yet Chen Yuan could clearly sense what lay beneath that ordinary appearance.

The hand was no longer composed of flesh, bones, and blood.

Its interior was an endless expanse of darkness, within which the different attributes he had infused remained intertwined.

Crimson currents of fire flowed through the blackness, pale blue frost drifted alongside flashes of silver lightning, and faint green traces of vitality intertwined with the dense metallic nature.

Deeper within, the spatial nature of the Void-Eroding Stone seemed to create an immeasurable depth, while tiny sparks flickered throughout the darkness like fireflies scattered across a starless night.

All these contradictory natures coexisted within a single hand, held together by the void that had become its foundation.

Chen Yuan stared at it for a long moment before slowly bringing the hand upward.

The Nameless Hand had finally taken shape.

He flexed his fingers, curling and uncurling them several times as he grew accustomed to the unfamiliar sensation.

The movement felt surprisingly natural, almost indistinguishable from his previous hand.

After a moment, Chen Yuan raised his right hand and pointed it toward the wall.

At his command, small leaves sprouted from his fingertips, their green surfaces accompanied by tiny sparks that flickered between them.

The sight lasted only a moment before he willed them away, allowing the leaves and sparks to dissolve into the darkness within his hand.

He then rotated his wrist, and the hand’s shape began to change.

Its flesh-like appearance dissolved into a mass of shapeless darkness before stretching outward and reforming into a long metallic structure several meters taller than him.

Faint electrical arcs travelled along its sharp edges, occasionally illuminating the surrounding cave with brief flashes of silver light.

Chen Yuan examined the transformation before returning the structure to its original form.

"Nameless... something that can take on any name."

He murmured the words quietly, a faint smile appearing on his face.

Still, refining his first Nameless Organ did not mean that he had suddenly become a Golden Core Realm expert.

His cultivation remained unchanged, and the strength he possessed was still limited by his existing foundation.

After all, he had relied almost entirely on the system’s rewards to advance his cultivation so far.

As he considered this, Chen Yuan’s attention returned to the spatial attribute he had incorporated into the hand.

He raised his right hand toward the empty space before him and slowly extended his fingers.

Under his will, his hand seemed to disappear into thin air, sinking into a place that should not have existed.

It felt as though he had reached beyond the surface of reality itself, his fingers grasping at something hidden behind the space in front of him.

Then, he pulled.

Crack!

A tiny fracture appeared in the air, accompanied by a sharp, ear-piercing sound that reverberated throughout the cavern.

Chen Yuan’s expression remained unchanged as he immediately released his hold, allowing the fracture to close almost as soon as it had appeared.

He couldn’t control it for too long, no more than a second.

But even with a second, the degree of danger a cracked space could pose was more than enough to fatally wound an unsuspected enemy if he used it well.

The surrounding space returned to normal, leaving no trace of what had happened.

Chen Yuan lowered his gaze toward his right hand and slowly curled his fingers before opening them again.

"The other attributes consumed a lesser amount of spiritual energy, but the moment I used the ones beyond the five main elements, the spiritual energy consumption was much higher."

He hummed, and pondered the informations he currently had, "And my divine conciousness reflects the degree of how precise I can control them. It seems I need to find a way to strengthen it from now on."

"The spatial attribute, fire, earth, vitality, and even ice..."

"What an incredible path it is... "

"It was almost like an entirely different world compared to the way spiritual techniques were used before."

Chen Yuan examined his right hand, still fascinated by the possibilities it offered.

In the cultivation world, most cultivators followed the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

Their spiritual roots determined which attributes they could cultivate efficiently, while spiritual techniques allowed them to draw upon those attributes and unleash their power in battle.

Chen Yuan was no exception. He was a five-element cultivator, just like countless others in the cultivation world.

However, attributes such as ice, lightning, space and the other were considerably rarer, and most cultivators could not simply wield them at will.

Even those who possessed the appropriate spiritual roots often needed specialized cultivation methods or spiritual techniques to make full use of their talents.

But the Nameless Book’s path was different.

Through this path, Chen Yuan could incorporate different attributes into his body and manipulate them according to his will, without needing a corresponding spiritual technique to produce their effects.

The limitations that had once restricted his choices no longer seemed quite as absolute.

"Hahaha! Interesting, truly interesting!"

With this, his combat capabilities would be far more difficult to predict than those of an ordinary cultivator at the same realm.

An opponent might prepare to counter his fire techniques, only to find themselves facing ice or lightning instead.

Even the spatial attribute, something most cultivators could hardly imagine wielding directly, had become part of his means.

Chen Yuan looked down at his right hand, unable to suppress the smile spreading across his face.

If he encountered demons of the same realm in the future, he would no longer have to approach every battle with the same caution as before.

Waiting to see if there were more reinforcement?

There was no more fear this time.

With the Nameless Hand’s unpredictable abilities, even fighting ten demon high lords at once no longer seemed entirely out of the question.
