Chapter 542: 11.68 First Green Star - Punishment World: Hell (34)
Chapter 542: 11.68 First Green Star – Punishment World: ‘Hell’ (34)
The group had only killed one snow oni per each of them. Not only are these Snow Onis powerful, but their movements also increase as if they were buffed by the falling blizzard above their heads. Plus, the blizzard had the opposite effect on human players. They were given a debuff instead. They would start feeling some parts of their bodies turning stiff as if slowly turning to ice. It was quite hard for the four of them to kill these buffed monsters under these circumstances.
Lan She was about to jump to escape a snow oni attack and suddenly fell on his knees. He looked down at his feet and saw them covered in ice.
Lan She mumbled, “Ice?”
ROAR~
“Ming’er, be careful!” shouted Chu Mo as he ran towards him he lifted his left arm holding on to his spear blocking the incoming attack towards Lan She. “Fuck off!”
He waves his spear and cuts off that snow oni who dared to harm Lan She in half. He had no hesitation at all with cutting it into two. Human organs and crimson blood splattered on the red snow making it even darker and looking like a pool of ink instead.
Chu Mo checked on Lan She and asked, “What happened to you?”
“My feet are frozen,” said Lan She as he noticed that Chu Mo’s right arm was hanging loosely on his shoulders.
Lan She asked, “Your right arm?” he tried touching it only to feel it so cold. It was like touching a block of ice directly with your hands. “It’s frozen.”
“Hm~ I was moving it too much just now and it turned to ice. Don’t worry I still have my left arm,” said Chu Mo.
Meanwhile, Han Ya and An Yuan’s situation is also not that good.
Han Ya had been protecting An Yuan within his embrace as he moved here and there while attacking. He was moving too fast as he activated his demonic bloodline. He was able to control his drain ability to keep his body full of strength but the coldness his body had accumulated is even more than the rest of them.
It didn’t take a while for his feet and lower body to slowly turn to ice.
He pushed An Yuan away feeling the ice crawling from his feet going above his legs. He still keeps moving his hands to kill some snow onis in progress.
An Yuan spoke in panic, “Xiao Ya. Xiao Ya your legs!!” He could see Han Ya’s legs covered in ice.
“There is something weird about the snow. It caused a debuff of freezing. A’Yuan escape by yourself. I will block the monsters for you!” said Han Ya as he used his spear to chip away the ice covering his legs.
But doing so causes more injuries to his lower body, the ice crawling on himself isn’t ordinary ice after all.
Seeing the blood tainting the ice, An Yuan was going insane.
“Stop! STOP! Don’t break the ice, Xiao Ya!”
ROOOAAAARRR~
The snow onis were once again attacking but this time An Yuan no longer hesitated and pulled his magic bow. A fire-type arrow with golden flames appeared on his bow. He pulled it towards the sky and it flew like a bolt of like and exploded like fireworks. A rain of golden flames arrows fell on their area.
“Rain of Holy Arrows!”
The golden flamed arrows fall from the sky like rain. It avoided the four of them while targeting all the monsters in the vicinity. An Yuan had used an AOE attack with fire elements. This is his first time doing so and he had used up all his mana for it.
The golden flames had debuffing effects on burns, allowing the debuff of freezing on Chu Mo, Han Ya, and Lan She to be removed as burn and freeze had contrasting effects.
More than half of the snow onis had been killed by the golden rain. Some of it ran away avoiding the range of An Yuan’s attack. Seeing the Snow Onis flee, An Yuan felt a bit of relief. He had overused his mana and was totally empty right now. But his eyes couldn’t help but look for Han Ya’s figure.
In his blurring sight, he saw his beloved reaching out as he ran towards him.
Han Ya calls worriedly, “A’Yuan!!?”
An Yuan didn’t even notice that blood was strolling from his eyes, nose, mouth, and ears at this moment. He had already lost consciousness even before he learned about it. Thankfully, Han Ya caught him before he fell to the ground.
Han Ya tightly held the fainted An Yuan in his embrace. His hands were slightly trembling as he wiped the blood on his beloved face. Thankfully, he could still hear An Yuan’s breathing or he would have gone mad on the spot.
“Thank God. You’re still alive. Alive…” muttered Han Ya as he hugs his beloved.
Lan She yelled at him in warning as they saw Snow Oni sneaking an attack towards the two.
“Behind you! Han Ya!!!” scream Lan She.
But Han Ya turned around and saw a snow oni’s club about to fall on him. He unconsciously protected An Yuan in that split moment, planning to block the attack with his body first.
The only thing Han Ya heard is the agonizing screams of monsters and warm blood raining on him. When he turned around, he saw the snow oni with no head and red blood splashes like a mountain. Looking around all Han Ya saw is a black blade that comes out of his own shadow. It instantly disappeared after killing off all the Snow Onis who tried to attack Han Ya and the rest.
ROAR!!!
They finally hear the mischievous voice of Hei Anjing. Though right now he seems to be gloating at them seeing their current situation.
Hei Anjing spoke, “What are you guys playing around with? Are you acting in a drama or something?”
The blizzard that was falling so hard on them before had slowly turned to a soft rain of snow instead. The strong blowing winds had also lightened as it fades. Now except for the little bit of snowflakes falling from the sky, the area had turned instantly calm. All debuffs of ice were canceled as if fearing the arrival of the God of Winter himself.
The monsters had run away as well. The presence of Hei Anjing and Ye Xiajie was too strong for the monsters of any layers to bear, especially when they were together. They were being avoided by the monsters in the other layers; only the layers’ mechanisms are fearless enough as they are nothing but data.
Seeing An Yuan unconscious, Hei Anjing couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and look at Chu Mo and Lan She who were avoiding his gaze by lowering their heads. Even without meeting the eyes of Hei Anjing, they could already somewhat feel that he was asking them what they were playing around with. After all these two are still Gods in reality.
System Yang and System Yue had hovered towards Chu Mo and Lan She and whispered.
System Yue, [The original tasks of your vessels had been removed. You can OOC now.]
[We made sure to remove your names and replace them with another. The Heavenly Laws of this world would no longer notice you.] said, System Yang.
Hearing these Chu Mo and Lan She had stopped holding back. They’ve controlled their qi to the fullest and removed the debuffed on themselves on their own. The ice on their bodies melted instantly under their divinity.
Ye Xiajie was quiet as he carried his wife in his arms. He was watching everything without any comment. His gaze lingers more on his wife’s face than his surroundings.
Hei Anjing smiled at his husband and said, “Husband, bring me over there. It seems one of them is injured.”
“Um.”
Ye Xiajie did as he was told and watched Han Ya and An Yuan. The latter was still in a coma and Han Ya just finished cleaning his face which used to be covered in traces of blood. As Ye Xiajie appeared before Han Ya, the latter couldn’t help but stiffen for a moment. His eyes widened as he looked at Ye Xiajie’s appearance. Though he looks the same as when he first met him in the Haunted Asylum Game from before, the ambiance surrounding him had longed changed.
He is much more powerful now and his aura is not only dangerous but also overwhelming. Han Ya felt as if he was drowning when he checked on Ye Xiajie. The probing Han Ya did, was ignored by Ye Xiajie. After all, what could a mere ant do to a Sovereign like him?
UGH, ~
Han Ya is now looking at Ye Xiajie with fearful eyes. He couldn’t help but hug An Yuan closer to himself. If not because his legs turned soft, he would have run away even before Ye Xiajie sat near him.
Clap!
The sudden sound of a hand-clapping brought Han Ya to reality. His eyes were still moving around but he relaxed when he saw Hei Anjing’s mischievous smile but he also noticed that his eyes were cold despite his curled lips.
Hei Anjing said, “Aiya~ why are you looking at my husband like that, Xiao Han. I will get jealous you know~~”
“I… No… I just… thought he looks… familiar.” said Han Ya with broken words. Obviously still terrified at the moment.
“Hm~ of course, he looks familiar. Didn’t you meet him already in the game of Haunted Asylum?” said Hei Anjing.
Han Ya knew that he couldn’t ask more when Hei Anjing changed the topic intentionally and said, “Yes, that’s him. I remember now.”
“Anyway~ let’s get Xiao An healed~ His mana is depleted I should transfer…” Hei Anjing’s hand, which is about to reach out, was held by Ye Xiajie.
Clearly, this man is not willing to have his wife share his mana with others. Instead, he passed a high-grade healing stone scroll to Han Ya.
“Use that. It can even regenerate cut limbs much less restore depleted mana,” said Ye Xiajie as he carried away his wife. “Follow right away. The time limit in this phase is about to be done.”
Hei Anjing smiled over his husband’s shoulder and said, “Give me your Stamp Cards~” he had a huge grin when he said this.
The four had handed their stamp cards unconditionally to Hei Anjing. This stamp card might be their lifeline in this hell but they knew as long they are with these two this restriction doesn’t really exist.
With Han Ya carefully carrying An Yuan in his arms their small group of 6 had rode on the elevator. As soon as they’ve entered the elevator, a robotic voice resounds inside and announces.
{Completion of Main Mission detected. Group Platform members Hei Anjing, Lou Yan, An Yuan, Han Ya, Lan She, and Chu Mo had collected all the stamps needed to leave the first phase of the trial. Players would be brought straight to the last layer of hell and wait until the time limit of the First Phase.
Time Limit countdown: 1 hour remaining.
Please place your stamp cards in the slot below to exchange them for a Hell Ticket. The Hell Ticket must be presented for the player to be able to ride the train that would bring the player to the location of the second phase of the Trial, The Labyrinth.
Your total scores for this first phase would be calculated in the last layer as well.
Congratulations on Completing the First Trial, Hell!} .
DING!
Following the sound of the elevator, the door had finally opened when it reached the last layer of hell. Unlike before the pure black room with the size of the basketball court was replaced with a lounge instead.
There are already some players inside waiting for the time limit to end. All eyes had landed on their group as soon as the sound of the elevator had sounded. Cho Mo and the rest could see some players inside as well. The frozen chains on this layer remain the same and the tasks in this area had been totally broken when Hei Anjing froze all the chains to free his man.
There are at least 20 players inside. They were separated into groups 2, 4, and 6 plus some solo players hiding in the corner. At one sight one could see they didn’t undergo the layers well. There are some who lost some limbs and are currently under regeneration. Most of them were covered in bloodied bandages. A missing eye, nose, or ears. They all look like they’ve suffered a life-and-death situation.
So seeing a high face valued group like Hei Anjing who were completely unharmed except for one who was unconscious, their group was eye-catching, especially Hei Anjing and Lou Yan who even have clean clothes on them. Not a hint of blood or dust, they look like they had gone out for a vacation.
Lan She and the other three were not bad either. But after fighting with multiple bosses in each layer their clothes were now covered in blood and mud. They look a bit untidy making the other couple even more eye-catching with their untainted clothes. Their group instantly becomes a sore thumb.
Lou Yan glanced at the rest of the team and said, “Follow me to rest.”
“Yes, Boss,” said Chu Mo.
Lan She unconditionally followed without saying a word while Han Ya lightly nodded his head while glancing around for a moment and returning his eyes to An Yuan in his arms. He was relieved in his heart when he heard his stable and rhythmical breathing. He is clearly just asleep.
