Chapter 1616 22.3 Third Red Star - Main City Hospital

The chief warden was pulled into the pool of water. He didn't fight back when his ankle was caught by something slippery, as he wanted to see who dared to sneak into his house and pull him into the water. He remained calm as he opened his eyes underwater. The pool was dark and devoid of light except for some moonlight falling from the evening sky.

He could feel a presence swimming around him, but it was a bit too fast for him to catch his gaze. But the moment a flash of emerald appeared in front of him, he immediately stretched his hand and captured it.

Within his hand is a slippery feeling, the same sense of touch when holding on to a fish. He pulled it out of the water as he himself also jumped out and threw it toward the sky.

As the moonlight fell on the creature's appearance, the chief warden was stunned. That's a face that is always in his dreams—the appearance that he always yearns for. The face of his beloved, Yun Ming. The only difference is that this is not a human but a half-fish, half-human one. The one who was called a mermaid.

The naked upper body of his beloved was exposed, with his wavy, long, dark brown hair flowing on his front and back. A pair of fin ears and a few scales on his cheeks.

Warden Yun Ming, on the other hand, was still adjusting to his mermaid body. He first wakes up inside a clamshell which is only slightly bigger than an adult human's hand. When he saw his reflection and realized that he had become a little mermaid the size of a pocket watch with his real appearance he was stunned for a moment, then finally recalled that this world had no main characters, just beings that existed before the disaster.

He was looking around and found no other way to get out of the big aquarium. Plus, as a little mermaid, he must keep his tail wet or he will dry up. Since he had nothing to do, Warden Yun Ming meditated and checked his body. He can feel that half of his soul is missing and that his divinity is sealed as well.

He tried poking at his divinity and suddenly his little mermaid's body had grown. The little aquarium becomes too small for him. Thankfully, his main element was water, and saw a pool not far from him.

After controlling the water to remove him inside this aquarium, he was brought to the pool and was swimming around happily when he noticed a presence that arrived in the living room. The pool area is close to this receiving area.

There was no light in the pool area and I saw a figure coming closer to itself. Just as this figure stood a foot away from the pool, Warden Yun Ming took this chance and pulled the man into the water. It can be said that for mermaids, water is their domain.

Yun Ming did expect this person to be able to grab his tail despite his speed. It seems this man is no ordinary person. The Chief Warden blocked the fierce mermaid tail coming for him, and he hit the wall of the pool area. Before he directly hits the wall, a thin veil of water protects his back, and a loud sound of something falling back into the water is heard.

Lou Wuye asked, "Sweetheart, why did you become a fish?"

"I don't know. When I opened my eyes, I was a little mermaid. Thankfully, this is your home. I would have killed my owner if he was some kind of scumbag. However, I've checked my identity with the subsystem even though it was blocked at the last moment, and I've learned a few things. I am an artificial mermaid born from the genes extracted from a mermaid egg," said Warden Yun Ming.

Chief Warden Lou Wuye asked, "Can you turn human?"

The main city hospital was in a secret lockdown. Though they're aren't any military personnel in uniforms, there are military men in civilian clothing spread all over the hospital and silently protect the area where the general is.

As soon as Colonel Lou Wuye arrived at the VIP area, the two soldiers outside saluted him.

"Sir Colonel!"

"Hm. Good work," said Lou Wuye as he entered the VIP room after it was opened by them.

Inside the VIP room, Lou Wuye and Yun Ming immediately recognize the general bedridden on the bed. Even though the general's eyes were closed, his handsome features were enough to tell who it was.

Lou Wuye mumbles, "As expected, it's the lord."

A soldier who called for him before saluted, "Colonel Lou, the general hasn't woken up after fainting, but the machines say it wasn't a deep sleep but a shallow one. However, for some reason, he doesn't wake up. The doctor says that his injured spiritual domain might be the cause."

"Also, there are three illegal little mermaid auctions we have found. Do we need to sneak in and save the little mermaids?"
