Chapter 1360: 19.19 Second Red Star - Rescue Mission II
Again, Kian and Roan were at a loss for how to respond to their comrade’s query. It is not like they can just say, “It is the Zergs; they choose to help us.” That would sound absurd, particularly to Lucas, who only had the deaths of all of his lifelong allies as his final recollections of the Hive.
Ultimately, Kian purposefully sidetracked the conversation from the subject of who was assisting them on their rescue operation.
The Halfling Kian said to the Hybrid Lucas, “Forget about that for now. Let’s leave as soon as possible before the military gathers and catches us.”
“Everyone, move as a group. Don’t get separated!” Roan said as they now ventured on their way above the surface.
The rescue mission to save Lucas can now be considered a half-success. They just have to escape the military barracks safely and head to the spaceship in the forest.

Meanwhile, at the laboratory…
The old scientists were encircling the unconscious Cid Warlock. The ability of Cid Warlock’s Zerg Bloodline to manifest independently of the body and remove itself from it captivated them. His vessel will be totally human and contain the energy of a S+ Sentinel of the Warlock Family after it leaves his body.
The azure wings with black tips were seen. The scientists are limited in their view because deaths involving such exquisite wings have already occurred. Do not judge it by the beauty of the butterfly’s wings. It moved on its own, automatically, the edge like a sharpened sword. Half of the scientists were slain because they wanted to touch the wings directly. Within seconds, it was immediate death.
These elderly human scientists carried on with their work in the laboratory, wiping away the stench of blood and corpses.
He is got one of the largest laboratories on the planet in his military barracks. However, because the experiments conducted there are deemed forbidden, it was thought to be a hidden laboratory. They conducted experiments on zergs, half-beasts, half-lings, and other living things. This place is full of insane scientists who claim that this sacrifice is necessary for the advancement of humankind.
They decided to focus on halflings for this endeavor.
The ruling class was aware of Cid Warlock’s half-zerg ancestry as they had given Wein Warlock the order to kill his father by kidnapping him. Simply put, they did not anticipate Wein going insane and setting fire to the Warlock mansion until only ashes were left of his body after killing his partner and then himself.
His actions were obviously motivated by his desire to prevent his beloved—along with his body—from being used as an experimental subject by his old bastard after his death.
So, despite being a halfling, the last Warlock bloodline was also in Cid Warlock’s body, so the old men in the Federation didn’t dare experiment on him. After all, Wein Warlock is from the Strongest Sentinel Clan, and only a Halfling Cid remains. They could waste his bloodline.
Those at the top tried all possible ways to duplicate the bloodline fanfiction of the Warlock family, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be done. The only one who could awaken the Warlock bloodline is Cid; it’s because they couldn’t do much to him when he was young.
Only when Cid Warlock learned about what happened to his parents did those from above start seeing him as an individual who is neither a human nor a zerg. But they couldn’t just kill someone without a reason. They gave Cid Warlock countless dead missions, wanting him to fail one and get punished. Once he is imprisoned, they can do as they wish. Sadly, Cid Warlock is still a warlock.
He became one of the strongest sentinels in the human race. He even became a hero in some cities and villages, making it harder for these old bastards to scheme against him.
The final mission is regarded as a death mission with an SSS rank. Ultimately, taking down the Zerg King included turning against the entire insect species. The Federation is surprised that he failed the mission, even though they were fortunate that Lucas returned with a comatose Cid Warlock. It is the opportunity they have been waiting for.
For this reason, Cid Warlock had undergone numerous bodily-harming tests while asleep, but the fusion of his bloodlines is what caused him to lapse into a vegetative state. For the organism to successfully join two powerful bloodlines from the human and Zerg sides, it must enter an unconscious state.
It was several weeks after he fell asleep. Cid Warlock came back to consciousness, but he took a moment to open his eyes. He heard the conversation going on around him. It was only at that point that he realized he was abandoned by the Federation. They not only massacred his people but also subjected Lucas to torture and even conducted experiments on him.
A sentinel’s spiritual qi was not very strong. They have a strong body from birth and are capable of using their hands to demolish a starship. Even if an S-class Sentinel is strong enough to destroy a small starship with one hand, they would not be able to breathe in space until they attained SSS-rank.
Cid Warlock’s thoughts at the moment: ‘1, 2, 5, 6 people. There isn’t any fluctuation of qi; they are just ordinary people. I can kill them all!’
He secretly controlled his spiritual qi. For a Sentinel, such a powerful spiritual qi is impossible, only a guide was born with such ability. But he is a halfling. Half of his blood came from a male Zerg. The male Zerg is famous for their strong spiritual ability, which is why, despite their weak physical body, their control over spiritual qi wouldn’t be lost to a guide.
He regulated his spiritual ability to take the shape of a needle after covertly expanding it. His powerful Zerg bloodline is the reason for his effective control over his spiritual qi. Spiritual qi is controlled by the Royal Zerg Tribe, particularly by the male zergs. These common people instantly lost control of their bodies when he sent a prick of spiritual qi into their minds.
The most powerful trait of a male Zerg is authority. They have the ability to order those under their spiritual qi control to obey them.
Sounds of groans echoed in the whole laboratory, and everyone inside the room held their throbbing heads. Cid Warlock’s spiritual qi invaded their brain, taking over its command.
Ack! Groans!
Slowly, Cid Warlock’s eyes opened to reveal a rare hue of sapphire. His eyes shine with blue tones, unlike the black and brown eyes of humanity, as if they were sapphire gemstones. Only monsters and other races have colored eyes in this world.
He was lying on a cold metal laboratory table and sat up slowly, his face expressionless and unfriendly. He removed every wire from his wings and torso. He had the impression that someone had clipped some of the feathers on his wings, particularly the tips. Gazing at Cid Warlock, the human scientists were wide awake.
They all want to get away and are trembling, but they can no longer control their bodies.
Those irises that share the same tone of sky are staring down at them. Their hearts were chilled by the silent venom that filled it. Cid Warlock was furious, but he refrained from exploding right then. It was not what he expected, simply because he passed out, to be betrayed by the Federation.
His eyes glinted with such hatred and lunacy that he could not have stopped sweating when he heard their discussion, the contents of which made him feel hot and bothered all over.
Cid Warlock mumbled, “What should I have expected? In the eyes of the human race, the Halflings are a different race and a lower breed than them. Why wouldn’t you dare touch me as a ‘Major’ of the Federation without the permission of those old men? Of course, they agreed. They never treated my life equal to theirs.”
The scientists looked at him with fear imprinted in their eyes and begged, “P-Please… spare us.”
Unfortunately, Cid Warlock wasn’t even looking at them, but at the messy things displayed inside the laboratory. He frowned as he saw more. In one of the huge glass tubes, he saw a fetus with a human body and insect wings.
There is also a beating heart that remains fresh and seems to be alive, as well as some internal organs he couldn’t recognize, but he knew these organs were all fresh and obviously weren’t dug from corpses but from living people. When he saw that even children were spared, he lost all his love for this human star.
His face turned grim, and he turned his head to look at the six human scientists. His expression is icy and dangerous.
“Inhuman! You don’t even spare babies and children. Are you still human?!” Bellowed Cid Warlock.
He felt disgusted and enraged with the things inside this laboratory. If he remained sleeping, would he be dissected and placed in that kind of glass tank? He felt even more anger and fear just thinking about it.
Cid Warlock whispered, “You can’t… be spared!”
He glares at them and controls his spiritual qi to impose his authority over them. Though this is very useful against female zergs, it can only affect any living thing as long as he controls it well.
(Kill yourself! Slowly until all the skin, flesh, and blood in your body are removed from your bones!)
Under the authority of Cid Warlock’s spiritual qi, the bodies of the six human scientists started moving on their own. It was beyond their control, and they couldn’t even control the expression on their faces as they cried.
“No! No! Someone! Stop me!”
“Argh! It hurts. It hurts a lot!”
“Ahhh! I don’t want to. I’m sorry. I’m wrong! I wonder if it is again. Agh!!”
The noises of cutting, blood splattering, and cries of terror, anguish, and misery. At first, Cid Warlock was icy, staring at them with a lifeless expression. He uses too much spiritual qi and wipes his nose carelessly while it bleeds. The smell of pee and blood fills the laboratory as soon as his body is able to move again.
He dashes to a corner and begins to throw up as soon as he exits the building. It worried him a great deal, even though he was the one who caused the scenario.
Cid Warlock started murmuring as if something in his mind had broken. “It’s not my fault. They did something wrong. They killed my parents. The humans are at fault. I should just find Lucas and leave this place as soon as possible.”
He looked through the cabinet in the room and only found a white gown used by the doctor. He took a shower and changed his clothes. Even though he wasn’t an expert with machines, he still checked the security cameras and stared at them for a long time. He noticed that footage remained stagnant and was clearly modified. Among his people, only Kian is capable of doing such a thing.
“This is a security camouflage program. Did Kian survive? Maybe Solan, Roan, and the others survived as well. Did they come here to save them? If so, it means that we can leave this damn star.” Cid Warlock mumbles.
Instead, he decided to wait in the lab where he could get supplies for medication as well as other items like potions for healing and strengthening. He was certain that someone would come get him. It would be wiser to stack everything and get ready to blow up this entire lab.
Gazing about the lab, Cid Warlock discovered some gas, which he dispersed across the area, particularly in the direction of those computers. He naturally erased all of the information on it. Therefore, they were no longer able to retrieve it after damaging the computer.
“The Federation Star is just hell for the halflings. The Hive would be a better place than this planet,” Cid Warlock mumbles as he removes the camouflage effect from the monitor on the computer he is using. He looked all over the cameras and found his lieutenant, Solan, together with another man he couldn’t recognize.
