Chapter 92 - Safe?
Chapter 92: Safe?
[You have acquired Burial Ground Dungeon's Skeleton's Forearm Bone.]
[Epic Item!]
After killing a weakened skeleton, Reylin received its bone! He turned most of its body into an experience as well, and he leveled up ten times. Of course, the skeleton was a strong fellow, boasting level sixty-five.
It was weakened due to the arena and ghosts having their competition.
It didn't take long for Reylin to find such a monster, and he also marked a few more skeletons to level up as fast as possible.
The level gains were higher here, and Reylin expected to return to his peak in one day with so many weakened enemies around.
Estras glanced at the bone, "It's a sharp bone. You should be able to bring out my swordsmanship to its fullest with it."
A hero ghost swallowed his pride.
He would no longer question Reylin and his methods.
Of course, Reylin was also less considerate of this guy.
Unlike his little friend, Estras used to be a hero and a man who had killed many. That kind of person should have seen various personalities and his hands were dirty with blood.
Reylin didn't care whether he was a hero or a father of his little friend.
Estras also touched Reylin's wrong scale by saying similar words to Milkyona...
Flames would always accompany the pyromaniac, for he loved them deeply.
"It can be sharper," Reylin said.
His following deed verified Estras' thoughts, and it made him much more conscious of his words.
The flames lit up across the whole blade, and its melting tongues shaped the bone into a sword.
Reylin eyed the whole process with a smirk, then he raised his sword up.
Scrutinizing the whole shape, he nodded with a content written on his face, "Let's level up now."
Estras nodded despite Reylin not even looking at him.
He floated behind him, marking the skeletons and undead monsters as well in case Reylin missed someone.
The monsters followed the same pattern as undead creatures outside, so Reylin's path was relatively easy.
He also looked out for Emilia on his way, but no sight of any living being had entered his eyes so far.
[You have killed...]
[You have killed...]
[You have leveled up!]
[Estras Law Lv. 45]
GRRRRR!
A group of four zombies growled at Reylin, who stood with his sword glazed with flames. He had been using Estras' swordsmanship from the beginning, allowing his body to adapt to the sword faster.
He casually slashed at them!
It was the first time Reylin used the sword this much, but he was deeply astonished at how easy he had learned the basics.
Of course, the skill had helped him, but that was the game.
Reylin didn't feel like the system pushed him nor controlled his body, so it was like he was instinctively using his sword as someone else.
What did it mean?
'How deep can this game influence me?' Reylin inwardly questioned while soaking the experience from his new class.
He also decided to fight with the hero in real life as Maya practiced kendo. It would be a clash of styles. However, should Reylin bring out what he learned in the game, he certainly would get a little suspicious of the game.
Still, he moved on his own, and nothing blocked him.
'Maybe that's the natural consequence of virtual reality? Will it create superhumans?' Reylin was serious this time, even though the topic was far from it.
He also remembered how Maya was praised by the teacher in their club activity.
As the hero, Ferocious Bear had access to more strength, and she had used her sword in far more intense battles than her friends from the club. It was fair for her to adapt faster through the game, and Reylin's thoughts slowly diverted into absurd areas.
He shook his head, 'Let's look at positives. If Layla turns out real, just like other residents, I will have a lot of work to do.'
Reylin ended up smiling widely and even laughing out of nowhere, which left Estras horrified as it sounded pretty wicked.
These two continued their adventure through the dark city with their thoughts hidden until a familiar Reylin sound rang out.
That sound also surprised him!
BANG!
"A gun?" Reylin whispered.
"A gun? What's that?" Estras asked from behind.
"Don't tell me she's that lucky," Reylin smirked and began running toward the source of the shots.
At last, Reylin found another living being, and it was his partner, Emilia.
She held one gun in her hand, "Fuck off!" And shouted with her all resolution as if it increased her gun's output!
Emilia didn't care about her appearance, nor she could, as zombies had tattered her clothes! It wasn't a surprise to see her on the losing side with her new class and fate. Of course, she lost against the quantity.
Her own quantity, the bullets, had also been on the verge of depletion, to say nothing of reloading the magazine! It was the first time she held such a treasure, and it also came out of nowhere without any instructions!
As a zombie suddenly popped out from the side, Emilia bit her lips and pointed her gun at its head! She blew it up in one bullet, but her eye closed, and she faltered... That was solely due to her exhaustion and constant battle!
No undead zombie missed that chance, and the closest one tried his luck!
Alas, another living being appeared next to it!
[You have killed...]
Reylin shoved his sword into the zombie's head and halved it in one powerful slash! His flames lit up just like Emilia's face!
While fire howled, her face was all smiles and relief!
Reylin sneered, "Is my ass safe? You must've protected it after the last time."
Emilia's face took a significant change, and she glared at him, "It's all fine! Want to check?!"
"Will do later," Reylin replied, then slashed his sword again!
He left a fire trail behind, which acted as a temporary flamethrower! All the zombies who passed through it had their heads burned! They dropped onto the ground a while after passing it and died like mindless tools they were.
Emilia nodded, "You are luckier than me! I got a weird artifact!" She said first with a hopeless voice, but then she blinked cutely, "Is it a gun actually?"
Reylin burst out laughing, "Is it?"
