Chapter 696: Chapter 696 She Said She Was Only Visiting to Deliver Spiritual Herbs, But Left Her Undergarments in My Cave Abode

While Lin Feng enjoyed the company of his women, a pair of mysterious eyes watched silently from the shadows. The woman had concealed her presence exceptionally well.

None of the women around Lin Feng noticed her at all. The gap between their cultivation realms was simply too great.

To them, she was no different from a passing shadow which was completely invisible and impossible to detect. But there was one person who could sense her. Lin Feng.

His expression remained calm as he suddenly turned his head toward the darkness. Their eyes met. For a brief moment, neither of them spoke.

The mysterious woman remained hidden within the shadows, her beautiful eyes carrying a trace of curiosity. She had already expected Lin Feng to notice her.

After all, if the rumors surrounding him were true, then concealing herself from his perception would be far more difficult than concealing herself from the others. Lin Feng, on the other hand, merely smiled.

That smile told her everything. He knew she was there. And now she knew that he knew. Neither side seemed particularly surprised by the situation.

The woman remained where she was, quietly observing him as though trying to confirm something she had suspected for a long time.

Inside the room, the atmosphere remained warm and intimate, completely unaware of the silent exchange taking place in the shadows. The night slowly passed.

Outside, the city gradually became quieter, while the stars shifted across the heavens.

Lin Feng occasionally glanced toward the shadows, expecting that the mysterious woman might eventually step forward and introduce her presence. But she never did. She simply watched.

By the time the first hint of dawn appeared on the horizon, the mysterious woman had already disappeared without making a sound.

Lin Feng looked toward the place where she had been standing and chuckled softly.

"Some other time, perhaps." There was no urgency in his voice. He already knew exactly who she was. Her identity was hardly a mystery to him.

The woman who had silently appeared tonight was none other than the master of the Myriad Origins Wandering

Inn. Lin Feng had known about her existence for quite some time ever since he ate at her halls for the first time.

Now that she had finally taken the initiative to approach him, even if she had chosen to remain hidden in the shadows, he couldn’t help but wonder what she would do next. A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"Interesting." With that, Lin Feng turned his attention back toward the approaching dawn. Whatever the mysterious innkeeper wanted from him, there would be plenty of time to find out.

Another week quietly passed. During that time, the mysterious woman from the Myriad Origins Wandering Inn never appeared again. Lin Feng wasn’t particularly bothered by it.

He had already grown accustomed to people coming and going around him, and with the number of women currently in his life, his schedule was already considerably busier than an ordinary person’s could ever be.

Adding another woman to the mix wasn’t necessarily something he was actively looking for. If anything, it would probably make his already complicated life even more troublesome.

Still, Lin Feng didn’t mind having a little mystery around him. What he hadn’t expected, however, was that someone else he knew would come to visit.

The moment the visitor arrived at the entrance of his courtyard, Lin Feng sensed her presence. A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Let her in." He immediately instructed the master of her servants Chen Nuo to allow her entry. There was no need for her to wait in line or go through the usual procedures.

She was someone Lin Feng already knew, after all. A short while later, a beautiful woman walked into the courtyard.

She had long black hair that flowed gracefully down her back and wore a simple set of white robes. Her clothing was modest and elegant, without any unnecessary decoration.

Yet her appearance alone was enough to attract attention. Her beauty carried a unique quality.

She possessed an almost ethereal purity, giving her an innocent and dignified appearance that made it difficult for anyone to associate her with worldly desires.

At the same time, her figure was astonishingly graceful, possessing curves that seemed almost too perfect to belong to an ordinary woman.

She was none other than Qin Ran, an elder of the Grand Purity Temple. As soon as she entered the courtyard, Qin Ran smiled faintly.

"And here I thought I would have to line up like everyone else before I could meet you, Senior Lin Feng." Her tone carried a hint of teasing which was a bit unusual.

Lin Feng laughed.

"We’re good friends, Elder Qin Ran. Surely you must be joking." He gestured toward the courtyard.

"Please, come inside. Allow me to offer you some humble hospitality."

Qin Ran smiled and followed him. The two soon sat down inside one of the elegant rooms of the courtyard. Not long afterward, a servant brought them a pot of fragrant spiritual tea.

Steam slowly rose from the cups, carrying a refreshing aroma throughout the room. For several minutes, the two simply exchanged pleasantries.

They spoke about ordinary matters like the recent happenings in the city, cultivation, and some of the interesting things that had occurred around Spirit Spring Academy and the Grand Purity Temple.

On the surface, everything appeared perfectly normal. But Lin Feng was not someone who could easily be deceived.

From the moment Qin Ran had entered the courtyard, he had already noticed something unusual about her. She was smiling. Her manner was calm. Her words were perfectly composed.

Yet beneath all of that, there was a subtle heaviness in her aura. Something was troubling her. Qin Ran was clearly trying to hide it, but Lin Feng could sense the difference.

He quietly took another sip of tea while studying her expression.

"Elder Qin Ran." He finally placed his cup down.

"You seem to have something on your mind."
