Because the Elf Empire had been too arrogant back in the day, they had few allies and their relationships with other races were nothing to write home about.

And as time passed, those who had once admired the Elf Empire gradually died off...

Now, there were very few people who could even remember the Elf Empire.

Let alone those who were intimately familiar with the group of elven mages known as the "Leaves of Life."

Those who could still remember the existence of this elven mage group called "Leaves of Life" were mostly survivors who had personally experienced that cross-dimensional war back then.

Now, someone who could flawlessly disguise themselves as a "Leaf of Life" and even went so far as to embroider "seven leaves" on their cuff—was this really a disguise?

Even though these half-crazed Abyssal Demons weren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed most of the time.

They could still figure this one out.

Even if this guy wasn't one of those long-eared folks who had gone missing back then, he was at least someone connected to them!

The demons had never even considered that it was Jasmine, the manager of the spiritual world who knew so many secrets of the Star Realm, who had constructed Loren's new image...

"Misunderstandings" always arise unintentionally under the coincidences of fate.

---

Loren, who had just entered the town not long ago, smiled and refused Jasmine's repeated urgings, stubbornly insisting on picking out a store location that pleased him.

This blonde-haired male elven mage continued strolling along the streets inside the town.

Not just the Abyssal Demons—the other shareholders in the town were also openly watching the movements of this new shareholder, Loren.

They wanted to see what this newly joined shareholder was going to do.

Facing these blatantly curious stares, Loren walked as if no one else was there.

Under the blessing of a massive amount of "Fortune," he followed his inner intuition, walking past one shop after another...

Eventually, he stopped in front of that group of Abyss shareholders who carried a sulfurous smell about them.

And those Abyssal Demons, whose Spiritual Phantom images were "a human scholar wearing glasses," "a human noble in formal attire," "a somewhat simple-looking Minotaur," and "a green-skinned orc mage," immediately tensed up!

Loren stood before them, glanced at them casually, then shifted his gaze past the several Abyssal Demons to look at an ordinary-looking shop behind them.

His intuition, blessed by Fortune, told him that if this unremarkable shop belonged to him, it would be a pretty good thing.

---

Just as Loren was seriously examining this shop, the several Abyssal Demons standing directly in front of it had already figured out their resurrection position back in the Abyss.

Earlier, when they were far away, these Abyssal Demons hadn't noticed the danger Loren posed.

But now, with Loren standing right in front of them, they could finally sense the peculiarity of this "Seven-Leaf Elven Mage" before them.

The vague will of the endless Abyss was frantically warning their true bodies to stay away from this unknown existence...

Because everyone was just a Spiritual Phantom, each shareholder's Spiritual Perception range had been greatly reduced.

So much so that only when Loren walked up to them did these Abyssal Demons realize how threatening this elven mage really was.

Hidden beneath that gentle, mild-mannered exterior was a sense of danger no less intense than any Demon Lord from the deepest layers of the Abyss!

"This elven mage's appearance isn't a disguise!"

"That guy can definitely lock onto my true body back in the Abyss!"

"Damn it! How is there still such a dangerous bastard among the elven race!"

---

The several Abyssal Demons were screaming internally.

Right then.

Loren had also finished appraising the ordinary-looking shop behind the demons.

He withdrew his gaze, looked at the clearly nervous Abyssal Demons in front of him, and subtly dulled his sense of smell.

Even in the form of a Spiritual Phantom, that unpleasant sulfurous odor still couldn't be masked.

It was like a unique mark that the spiritual world had branded onto these Abyssal Demons.

---

Loren looked at these Abyssal Demons, whose auras were only at the Legendary tier, and asked with a smile:

"From the Abyss?"

Hearing Loren's question, the Abyssal Demon disguised as a human scholar wearing glasses was the first to react!

He quickly suppressed the overwhelming despair erupting in his heart.

Calm down! Stay calm!!

We absolutely cannot let him find out that we participated in that expedition!

There are so many Legendary-tier Abyssal Demons!

We're just the most ordinary ones among them!!

We're ordinary!

Remember! We're ordinary!!

---

Among the several Abyssal Demons, the one who considered himself the smartest kept hypnotizing himself in his mind, trying to find a way out.

Then.

This Abyssal Demon lowered his head slightly and answered in a voice as calm as he could manage:

"Yes... that's right, O powerful existence."

Loren stared at this group of nervous demons before him, a flicker of confusion passing through his eyes.

"You all... seem very afraid of me?"

Upon hearing this, the Abyssal Demon disguised as the human scholar lowered his head even further, trying to use as natural a tone as possible:

"Maintaining reverence for a Powerful Individual like yourself is one of the rules of the Abyss."

Hearing this demon's words, a strange smile curled at the corner of Loren's mouth, and then he asked another question:

"Your rationality... seems pretty normal?"

"I come from the shallow layers of the Abyss, so the Abyss's influence on me is relatively low..." the demon disguised as a human scholar replied, head still lowered.

Loren, having learned a new piece of knowledge, was very satisfied with the answer and nodded slightly.

So the depth of the Abyss's layers actually affected the rationality of demons...

Interesting.

---

"Is there a tavern called Illusionary Night's Dream in the Abyss too?"

Having absorbed his new knowledge, Loren asked again.

"There is. Located in the topmost layer of the Abyss, there's one..."

"The topmost layer was deliberately opened by the Abyss's will for all races in the Star Realm to learn about the Abyss."

Facing this question, the demon opposite still answered with a respectful tone, his demeanor impeccable.

After getting his answer, Loren lightly raised his hand and stroked his chin.

He thought he understood why his friend—Mr. Cook P. Jones—had always wanted to join the Illusionary Night's Dream tavern...

So he wanted to use the tavern's Teleportation Array to go to the topmost layer of the Abyss?

Looks like you've been planning this for a long time, Mr. Cook.

Thinking this, Loren gave a light shrug.

He looked at these Abyssal Demons before him, who were being incredibly well-behaved—nothing like the legends said they were—and began to think.

After a long moment.

A flash of inspiration struck Loren's mind!

"Got any Spirit Stones?" the blonde-haired male elf asked with a smile.
