I Just Wanted Friends, But My Summons Keep Eating the Bosses (ND)
Chapter 185: Haruka and Jingyi meet Night
The city merger below completed just as the last Demigod monster was killed.
The once sided slaughtered finally stopped.
?As if on que, Zora return in a flash of white light. The runes covering the city slowly returned to the Void.
?Night looked at the city before him. It looked like four different cities with nothing in common placed right next to each other, rather than a single city.
?He sensed a barrier covering the city. The barrier felt similar to his own city’s, but better.
?Night and Sara stood in the air, looking down at the city. Zora, Arthur, and Jeffy were talking about something a short distance away from them, not that he and Sara cared.
?Sara asked him, "Do you like the city? Do you want to explore?"
?Night said, "It looks cool. I wanted to see how this city feels, though I think it is about time I leveled up more, so maybe later?"
?Sara nodded. "Yes, the Tutorial... Did [Dream] have any idea what type of tutorial it would be?"
?Night shook his head. "No, she doesn’t know. Even when she pried into the future, all she got was a blank..."
?Sara smiled. "I see. Don’t worry, we will be right there with you."
?Night smiled. Of course, all of his friends would be with him in the tutorials.
?Night said, "Let’s leave then. Our job here is over."
?Sara agreed. She was just about to teleport the two of them away when someone appeared before them.
Night had already sensed the other party with his Nightmare Domain, but since he didn’t feel any malice, he didn’t do anything.
?"Haruka," Sara said, letting Night know who it was.
?Haruka wore a pink flower kimono with a katana hanging at her side. She had black hair and black eyes. Her face was simple yet pretty, and she had a coy smile on her face as she looked at Night and Sara.
?"Sara, I missed you!" Haruka exclaimed and jumped at her. She tried to hug Sara, which Sara stopped by extending her arm straight out and planting her palm right on Haruka’s face.
?Haruka tried to dodge the palm, but it stuck to her face like a stop sign.
?Haruka pouted backing away. "You bully! If you don’t want a hug, just say so." Then her gaze turned to Night, and literal stars appeared in her eyes.
?Looking at the cute boy with weird, pupilless eyes, Haruka felt like she was looking at a doll.
Anything this cute can’t be human, she thought.
?Sara asked, "You are still alive?"
?Haruka huffed and looked away. "Not only am I alive and kicking, I have also become the strongest in my city."
?She then flexed her non-existent muscles to prove her point, which proved nothing at all.
?Night thought, ’She looks like she has Asian ancestry, and it seems they are very close to each other, well, at least this Haruka woman seems to think so.’
?Then another woman appeared beside Haruka. She had the looks of a model, with black hair and eyes similar to Haruka’s. She wore red armor with a scaly finish, and in her hands were a pair of knuckles.
?"Jingyi!! What took you so long?" Haruka turned to Jingyi and asked.
?Jingyi replied, "It took some time to talk to the elders, they were worried how everything would turn out now that the City had Merged."
?Haruka filter out the second half of the sentence for convinience, she pointed at Sara and said, "Look who we have here! Doesn’t this woman with a kid remind you of someone?"
?Jingyi looked at Sara and Night closely and said, "Zora and Arthur?"
?Haruka paused, her mouth wide and eyes open. The disbelief in her expression was obvious.
?Haruka blurted out, "Did you hit your head on your way here?"
?Jingyi chuckled. "No, I am joking." She looked at the blank expression on Sara’s face and said, "Hi Sara, long time no see." Then she curiously looked at Night and added, "And this little guy must be your son. He looks nothing like you, making me wonder who the father is..."
?Sara: "_"
Night: "_"
?Haruka shouted like she just discovered a new planet, "Huh, Sara?! You got married? You traitor... Didn’t we promise to get married at the same time?!"
?Sara looked at them with a dark, grave expression.
Night could sense Sara’s turbulent emotions; the ever-calm Sara was acting like she was facing a great threat.
Night chuckled inwardly, I think Sara might be an introvert, he mused
?Sara said flatly, "No, I didn’t marry anyone."
?Jingyi gasped, "There is someone who left you hanging after putting a baby in you? He must have balls of steel... Tell me where he is, I’ll teach him the meaning of the word ’Responsibility’!"
Jingyi had the look of a nubie cop who promised to seek justice for the poor victim.
?Beside her, Haruka looked pumped up as well. From the looks of it, the guy was a dead man if he ever existed.
?Night found the situation oddly funny, even though Sara looked like she was about to blow up.
?Sara took a deep breath and said, "There is no marriage, nor was there a baby in my belly." She pointed at Night and said, "This boy is Night, and I have been taking care of him for some time now."
?At this, the fire in Haruka and Jingyi died down, for some reason they even looked oddly disappointed.
?Jingyi then looked at Sara and said, "I heard about your city. I never expected Diana to fall so low."
?Sara replied, "I always expected her to do something like this, yet I was still almost caught off guard when it happened..."
Haruka "It was smart to teleport everyone out of the city, who knows how many would have died if not for you quick thinking.."
Jingyi and Night nodded.
?Haruka then covered her mouth with both hands and asked in a hushed voice, "Sara, do you know about a very strong monster that looks like a human? Arthur said he was so talented that even a Primordial God took him as a Chosen."
?Jingyi’s ears also perked up at that.
?Sara expression changed, she said solemnly, "This is not the place to talk about things like that. Let’s go somewhere private." Her inner thoughts, however, remained a complete mystery, even to night.
?Haruka and Jingyi looked at each other and solemnly nodded.
?Then Sara teleported them to Night’s city.
?Some distance away from the city, Night’s other clone, along with the others, left as well. The only proof they had ever been there was a huge wasteland.
?....
?Haruka, Jingyi, Sara, and Night appeared at the top of the mountain.
?Haruka and Jingyi looked around and realized they were in a place with a very high altitude, likely a mountain peak.
?Surrounded by clouds, close to the Heavens, It looked like a very beautiful and peaceful place that would serve as a great picnic spot, if not for the black tree with colorful leaves sitting in the middle that gave off an ominous aura.
?Their instincts screamed at them that the tree was very dangerous.
?While Haruka and Jingyi cast curious glances at the tree, Sara asked, "Arthur told you about another Chosen?"
?Meanwhile, Night walked over to the tree and summoned a mat, a table, and some cushions from the Nightmare Castle in his Inner Universe.
?As the others followed him over, Jingyi said, "Yes. He was saying how good it would be if we became allies, though I would like to meet him personally to see what he is made of..."
?Haruka chimed in, "Yes! Jingyi is even willing to sacrifice her purity for..." Before she could finish, her mouth was forced shut by the palm of an embarrassed Jingyi.
?Night sat down on a cushion, looking at them weirdly.
?Sara sat on a cushion beside him and said with an unamused face, "I always knew you were a closet pervert, but I never knew you were this shameless."
?Jingyi’s face reddened at that; she looked like steam was about to pour out of her ears.
?Jingyi defended herself, "I never said anything like that!!!"
?Night with a clam expression, pulled out four teacups filled with tea made by Lilith and Eve and placed them on the table.
?Looking at the tea, Jingyi removed her palm from Haruka’s mouth and sat down. She gave Haruka a fierce glare as she wiped the saliva off her hand with a napkin Night had just set out.
?She gave Night a warm smile, feeling that the boy was too polite and well-mannered. She picked the tea cup and took a slip, the tea felt quite good, it was sweet and refreshing.
?Haruka sat down last. Her nose wrinkled when she saw Jingyi ignore her an focus on the tea, and she was about to tease her some more, when suddenly the wind blew gently, pulling some strands of her hair along with it. The leaves also danced gently to a similar rhythm, making the surroundings feel oddly peaceful and homely.
?This seemed to calm her right down.
?Haruka asked, "Sara, why did you bring us here? And where is this place?"
?Sara chuckled. "This here is the Sky Mountain City, and Night is the ruler of this city," she said, pointing at Night.
?Jingyi and Haruka cast a surprised glance at Night, who was holding his teacup with both hands and appeared to be busy sipping his tea.
?Sara added, "Also, I am pretty sure that when Arthur talked about a Chosen, he was talking about Night here, since he is the only other Primordial God’s Chosen I know of..."
?The shock on Jingyi’s and Haruka’s faces was priceless...
