Shaking his head, Night asked the others to continue what they were doing and movee to a quiet corner.

He picked up a meditation mat and sat cross-legged.

The first thing he did was move his energy to the Ouroboros Totem at the pit of his throat.

The totem shined once, and the white-scaled Ouroboros appeared out of it. It looked the same as before, the evolution had not caused any changes in it.

Instead of appearing outside, it coiled itself around his neck.

Looking at the snake, Night fell into thought.

The snake felt too real, as if it possessed a physical body, when in fact it was only supposed to have a soul body according to the cultivation technique.

Looking into its white eyes as its tongue flicked against his cheek, he sensed it was as real as his friends. In fact, in a way, it was no different from them.

It just happened to be connected to him in a different way. The others were like Summons, and this snake was connected to him in the form of a totem.

He sifted through the Totem Soul Sutra in his mind a couple of times, and none of its contents explained why this was so.

According to the Soul Cultivation technique, the Refined Souls within the totem were supposed to rest in a separate space inside his Soul Space. Later, after he cultivated to higher realms and created his Inner World, the soul would then become a part of it and act as its guardian.

The Refined Souls were also supposed to only possess Soul Bodies that looked no different from real bodies. It was just that the Soul Body was a lot weaker when it came to physical attacks, but extremely strong with soul attacks.

After all, they were created using a Soul Cultivation technique, so the main focus was the soul.

Also Night’s situation was different. He had just started his cultivation, but he already possessed an Inner World, and it was not just any grade, it was Divine Grade.

Only someone who had reached the God Rank was supposed to possess such an Inner World.

Obviously, it was a lot weaker than what a true God possessed, but in terms of quality, it was not lacking.

Hence this led to a new scenario where, Ouroboros, who was supposed to just chill in a separate space, now had an entire Inner World to guard. Theoretically, It was obviously too much for the snake, considering its rank and strength were directly connected to Night.

And right now, Night was stuck at Level 50 and the snake was the same.

So in a way, Ouroboros was not of much use since it was too weak to defend the space. Despite it being incredibly strong for its rank, it was still a lot weaker than Night.

Shaking his head mentally, Night thought, Let’s ask the creator of this technique himself.

He could tell Ouroboros was not simple, and he didn’t want to waste its potential.

He had seen it protect Sara’s body when Night hadn’t even ordered it to do so, right when Night had completely lost control.

Ouroboros felt too intelligent. It had done the most rational thing in the situation and had technically saved Sara from permanent death.

Night reached out mentally and asked, "What’s up with my first totem?"

[Blaze]’s sarcastic voice rang in his head. "I thought you would start with something like... ’How are you doing, [Blaze]? Why was our connection cut when the fight began? I thought you had kicked the bucket!’"

Night’s lips twitched as he stated his guess respectfully. "[Zethe-thoth] cut the link, and you are definitely alive and kicking since you took back the skill when I asked."

[Blaze] was silent for sometime.

[Blaze] said in annoyance, "You are not fun to talk to anymore... Return my dumb Night back."

Now it was Night’s turned to become silent; when he thought about it he realized why [Blaze] was acting like this.

[Blaze] had a lot of questions about what happened earlier, and he wanted answers.

Night guessed he was too proud to ask directly, hence the dramatic act. It was not surprising. Even though [Blaze] was his Patron God, the amount of time they had actually spent together was minimal at best, not enough to share secrets.

He must have seen [Dream] possess me, Night thought.

It was not just a guess; he was sure of it, since it seemed Gods had a way to observe their Universe.

Night knew some information here and there from Alze-beus’s memories. The Devil had also been a Blessed who had received a blessing from a God named [Celesis]. Though he was not a Chosen, and the blessing he carried was a lot weaker than Night’s.

"I guess we should start with what happened..." Night offered.

[Blaze] pretended not to be curious. "If you don’t want to, it’s okay."

"No, it’s okay. It is better you know. My days in this Cosmos are numbered anyway," Night replied.

[Blaze] narrowed his eyes when he heard the word ’this’ paired with ’Cosmos’, but he was genuinely stunned when he heard ’numbered’.

Before Night could speak, he felt the link connecting to [Blaze] strengthen, and he felt something scan him. It was not aggressive; it just tried to check his overall health, so he let it be. Besides, it was not like he could stop it anyway.

Night realized he had caused a misunderstanding with his choice of words.

"I am fine..." Night reassured him.

"I can tell..." [Blaze] muttered.

Night sighed and started from the beginning.

He went over his meeting with [Dream] in the inheritance ground, his possible origins, his guess about the No. 1 Death Zone, the Tower of Games, and he even went into detail about his new transformation and what he had just done with his skills.

[Blaze] remained silent throughout it all, but anyone who knew him could tell he was completely speechless from the info dump.

He was a Primordial God, and there were rarely things in existence that could render him speechless.

"So does it mean that whatever this ’Tower of Games’ is, you have to go before the ten-year mark?" [Blaze] asked.

Night nodded.

"If you want my confirmation, you are probably right about this place being outside our Cosmos, because there is definitely no place called the ’Tower of Games’ in our Cosmos," [Blaze] stated firmly.

"[Dream] and [Zethe-thoth] are both supposed to be Players like me, or at least they were in the past. Now they are rogue Players," Night explained.

"No wonder their strength and capabilities didn’t make any sense," [Blaze] mused. "Whatever this Tower of Games is, it is not a simple place. And if you give it your all... maybe you can surpass me one day." He said it proudly, as if the mere thought of Night doing so was a huge achievement.

Maybe it was. [Blaze] had probably rarely spoken like this even to his own descendants.

What a joke, if someone tried to surpass him within this Cosmos, it was obviously impossible. Because while it looked like he was just passing time, he was cultivating every single second. Surpassing him who was Cultivating since the Cosmos was just a small Universe was not even bad joke.

But if it was an opportunity outside the Cosmos, then it could be possible. [Zethe-thoth], who had appeared out of nowhere, was proof it was possible. Even [Dream], when she was alive, grew at a frightening pace that felt unnatural and downright impossible by common standards.

"About your totem soul, I have some guesses," [Blaze] shifted the topic.

Night paid close attention as [Blaze] continued. "To fully understand what I am about to say, it is better if you know about Cosmic Beasts and Cosmic Beings..."

"So you are saying Ouroboros is a Cosmic Beast?" Night asked after he understood their significance.

"Yes, I am sure of it. I could never make a mistake in perceiving that aura. These creatures were famous for their reality-bending powers, so it’s not too far-fetched that it actually possesses a physical body."

Night replied disappointedly, "So my future totems will not be like this?"

[Blaze]’s left eye twitched. "You should be ecstatic that you even have a Cosmic Beast as a totem!"

Night smiled awkwardly. "But it’s still not enough."

After some more back-and-forth banter, Night moved on.

He held Ouroboros in his hands. It took some actual effort to gently separate it from his neck.

Night held it close to his face and said, "Let’s give you a proper name, shall we?"

Ouroboros looked at Night in clear anticipation.

It had not been born for long and was new to everything. The whole world stoked its curiosity and its adventurous spirit. From its bloodline memories, it was aware of the significance of a name.

It also knew sometimes, if the right conditions were met, names would no longer just be words. They would become one’s very destiny and future.

While Destiny was not a well-liked subject among Cultivators, who sought to transcend it, its significance and the advantages it came with could not be denied.

A good name recieved under right circumstances could led to the birth of a ’True Name’ in a being or a beast, and among Cosmic Beasts, it was common knowledge that a beast with a True Name was many times more powerful than one without it.

Looking at the snake, Night really didn’t feel like giving it a new name.

Ouroboros was already a badass name, and he was not sure if he could actually top that. But after some thought, he remembered an ancient Chinese myth, and his eyes brightened.

"Let’s call you Nuwa," Night declared softly. "I hope you mend the sky when hell breaks loose, before everything comes crashing down."
