I Just Want to Farm, But My Beasts Keep Evolving!!
Chapter 215: Did You Have That Manly Duel??
After resting for the whole day in a luxurious room, Raiden heard a knock on his door.
"Hey Raiden, our guest and the second protector is about to arrive. Do you want to come outside and meet him?" Raiden looked at the smiling lady standing in front of him and nodded.
"Sure, I’ve been curious about who this mystery guest is anyway."
Raiden walked outside his courtyard with three troublemakers following behind him curiously.
"Big sister, It’s so good to see you!! I missed you so much!!" A young and familiar sophisticated voice rang from the distance, making Raiden even more curious.
He could swear he had heard this voice before but could not put a finger on it.
"Hahaha, little Theo, you have grown up so big!! You are even taller than me now!! It’s not fair!!" Aria, laughter rang out in the courtyard as Raiden finally reached the place.
Standing in front of him was a familiar face. With green hair and a young face, a young man stood there wearing a double-breasted coat, looking like a gentleman who walked straight out of a movie.
A strong feeling of déjà vu hit Raiden as he looked at this face.
As if sensing something, the young man turned his face towards the trident as the eyes met.
"It’s you?!"
Their voices rang out at the same time as they pointed at each other.
"What are you doing here??" The young man was the first to snap out of his shock as he pointed at Raiden with a dumbfounded look on his face.
"Hahaha, let me introduce you two properly. Raiden, this is Theodore Stormwind, my younger cousin brother. I remember he used to follow me everywhere like a tail when we were kids. Now he is even taller than me. Theo, meet Raiden. He is a good friend of mine who came to help me with this challenge. Though I suspect you guys both already know each other."
Aria spoke cheerfully, ignoring all the awkwardness in the air.
Theodore was first to recover, as he regained His gentlemanly vibes.
"Ahem, It’s nice to finally meet you, Raiden. A shame we didn’t get to talk to each other during the tournament."
"No, no, the pleasure is all mine. Nice to finally meet you too." Raiden awkwardly introduced himself to the guy.
He didn’t really know how to face him, as his girlfriend was the one to beat the shit out of him during the tournament.
"By the way, how did you guys know each other?" Theodore asked curiously.
"Oh, It’s a funny story. When I first met Raiden, he was really pitiful and poor and he star—"
"It’s a long story!! It’s a very long story. Don’t worry about it. Let’s just say that your sister has done a big favour for me, so I am indebted to her." Raiden cut in between as he spoke. He didn’t want his embarrassing story to be public.
"I see." Theodore already detected there was more to the story, by wisely he didn’t ask any further.
"So you are going to act as a protector too??" Theodore questioned.
"Yes. After all, we are friends."
A bitter smile appeared on Theodore’s face as he turned towards Aria.
"Why do you need me here for, Sis? Am I here just to make up the numbers? You already have the biggest monster with you." Raiden started to twitch as he heard his complaint.
What monster? He was a totally normal person, ok?
"Don’t say that. You are very important too, okay? I am counting on both of you for help." Aria spoke with a serious expression on his face as she patted his shoulders.
"Don’t worry, I will help you reclaim what you lost, no matter what." Theodore also turned serious for a moment as he nodded.
"Thank you! You are such a good little brother!!" Aria extended her hand and ruffled his green hair, as a resigned expression to appear on his face.
"I’m not a little kid anymore, you know."
"Yes, yes. You have grown really big now, a bigshot studying in Archon Academy. Now come with me, grandpa is also waiting inside. You come too, Raiden. He will explain all the details about the Family Trial."
They started walking backwards towards the main central room in the court. They had both guys clenched at each other before following her.
"So, did you really have a manly one-to-one duel with Silk?"
Raiden almost tumbled and fell as he heard these words.
"What??"
"You know, Silk. The young master, that looks like a girl, but wants to be manly. Did you really have a manly duel with him for Morgana’s hand??" A gossipy expression appeared on Theodore’s face as he asked.
"Nonsense!! What manly duel? It was just a small fight. Plus, we can’t decide Morgana’s future with the fight between us. That is up to herself. But how do we know about it?"
"Oh, that’s easy. He had been talking about you and how manly your duel was ever since he came back. Practically everyone in the academy knows about you by now." Theodore slung his messy hair back as he spoke.
Raiden almost cursed that young master in his mind. Why was he putting him on the map? All he wanted to do was live a peaceful farming life.
"It was just a small fight between us. We weren’t even that serious. Don’t take him too seriously. I am very weak, okay? I don’t like to fight at all." Raiden declared with a straight face.
Theodore almost turned around subconsciously to look at the small black sheep that was walking behind them before he turned to look at Raiden with a peculiar look on his face.
"Hey! What is that look supposed to mean?? You don’t believe me??" Raiden voice was filled with irritation.
"No, no, I believe you. I believe you completely." Theodore spoke while scoffing in his mind.
He still remembered the final match and how brutally Raiden beat his opponents during it, as a shudder went through him.
If this was considered peaceful, he didn’t know what violent was.
"We have arrived!! Come in!!"
