"I could, but there’s no need. This drainpipe looks pretty old. We should just buy a new one and replace it."

"Okay, I’ll trust your judgment."

’I don’t know about these things, so I’ll just listen to Chen Yuan. I’ll do whatever he says. We have a clear division of labor.’

"You don’t just have to take it apart, you have to install the new one. Can you do it?"

"What kind of question is that? A man can never say he can’t! I’ll get it done for you right now!"

"Oh? Getting competitive, are we?"

Jiang Wanyi was amused and wanted to laugh.

"This isn’t about being competitive. I’m definitely getting this job done today!"

Chen Yuan opened the cabinet under the sink. It was filled with various bathroom supplies, like laundry detergent, toilet bowl cleaner, and so on.

One by one, Chen Yuan took the items out and set them aside in a clean spot.

After clearing everything out, he noticed the water valve was wet and covered in rust. He could even see drops of water falling from it.

"Looks like the water valve is broken. We’ll have to replace it."

"Can it last for one more day? It’s too late now. I’ll call someone to fix it tomorrow."

"Why call someone when I’m right here? Wait a bit, I’ll go down and buy a new valve. I can just replace it."

"Replacing a valve is a skilled job, you know. It’s not the same as replacing a pipe."

Now, Jiang Wanyi was truly starting to see Chen Yuan in a new light.

He returned home with his purchases, placed the remaining money on the dining table, and went into the master bathroom.

Jiang Wanyi stood beside him, watching. "What’s wrong?"

"Where’s the main water valve?"

"The main water valve?"

"I’m not too sure about that."

"It should be in the kitchen. I’ll go take a look."

He went to the kitchen, opened the cabinet under the sink, and sure enough, there was the valve. After he turned it off, the faucet no longer ran water.

Watching Chen Yuan work methodically, she found him more and more reliable, and much more manly.

Back in the bathroom, Chen Yuan glanced around, then grabbed a white washbasin and placed it under the valve.

"What are you doing?"

"To catch the water. There’s definitely still water in the valve. If I don’t put something here, it’ll spill out."

Chen Yuan looked at Jiang Wanyi. "Why so serious?"

"N-nothing... Give me that. I’ll find you another one."
