Chapter 175: Chapter 102: Jiang Wanyi’s Insights on Life
"How did they turn out? Let me see."
Jiang Wanyi walked over, and her jaw dropped when she saw herself on the camera’s screen.
"You actually made me look this good!"
"I didn’t make you look this good. You’re just this good-looking to begin with."
"No, no, no, it’s because you’re a good photographer. And this leaf—the timing was perfect."
A wide smile spread across Jiang Wanyi’s face as she gave him a thumbs-up. "Props to the baby’s daddy."
"In that case, I’ll gladly accept."
"You deserve it. That was amazing."
"Let’s try a few more from different angles."
"Okay."
Over the next ten minutes or so, they tried a few other angles and poses, taking several more pictures.
While those also looked great, they weren’t nearly as stunning as the first one. Still, they were both very satisfied.
"Hi, I’d like to hire you for a few photos. What are your rates?"
Just as the two were looking at the final shots, a long-haired girl walked over and asked politely.
"I’m sorry, this is my baby’s father, not a professional photographer," Jiang Wanyi said politely.
"Oh, oh, sorry to bother you."
The long-haired girl scurried away, embarrassed.
"You’re quite the charmer, huh? You’ve even got girls coming over to hit on you," Jiang Wanyi teased.
"Hitting on me?"
"While you were taking pictures earlier, I saw that girl and her friend talking about you," Jiang Wanyi said.
"So you noticed something was up beforehand."
"Of course. How could something like that escape my notice?"
’It takes one to know one.’
Over the next two-plus hours, the two of them moved between several other locations and took many more photos.
Between Jiang Wanyi’s natural assets, the qipao, and the scenery, every shot was exceptionally high-quality. The waist trainer she wore also gave her an incredible waist-to-hip ratio, making the final pictures look almost unreasonably beautiful.
"Mission accomplished. I’m going to change. I can barely breathe."
Jiang Wanyi was always frank in front of Chen Yuan.
Once in the car, she took off the qipao and changed back into her own clothes: jeans, a pair of small boots, and a knit top that was snug and round over her chest.
She could change everything else, but not her bra.
Chen Yuan’s gaze fell on Jiang Wanyi’s stomach, and she shifted a little uncomfortably under his stare.
"What is it?"
"Without the waist trainer, it definitely looks a little different."
"You’re so annoying. I’m already on a diet."
She grumbled good-naturedly, and as she fastened her seatbelt, her chest moved like an oscilloscope’s display.
Following the navigation Chen Yuan had set, they arrived at a barbecue restaurant that had received rave reviews online.
They were early, so there were still plenty of empty tables. Chen Yuan ordered a few things before handing the menu to Jiang Wanyi.
"How many come in an order of the garlic oysters?"
"Four," the owner said, holding a small notepad.
"We’ll start with one order."
"Alright."
After they finished ordering, the owner left.
"The baby’s daddy worked hard today. Eat some oysters to... replenish your strength."
"I don’t think these have anything to do with that. It’s all just an old wives’ tale."
"Should I go buy you some ginseng and goji berries to replenish you, then?"
"Now you’re just getting ridiculous."
"HONK HONK HONK..."
Jiang Wanyi laughed freely. Teasing Chen Yuan like this was a lot of fun.
"Mostly, I just want to eat the glass noodles on top. You can have the oyster underneath."
"I can live with that."
Soon, the sizzling barbecue was brought to their table. Its color was enticing, with a mouth-watering, charred-brown finish.
"I’ve seen this place so many times online. It should be good," Chen Yuan said.
"Don’t be in such a hurry to eat. Wipe the tips of the skewers; they’re covered in charcoal dust."
She passed him a napkin, then picked up a lamb skewer and wiped it off as well.
"Mmm! Delicious!"
She took a bite, but the second piece was a chunk of fat. She used her chopsticks to pull it off and place it on her plate.
"I can tell you don’t know how to eat barbecue." Chen Yuan pushed his own plate forward. "The best part of the skewer is the fat. Give it to me."
"You should eat less of it."
Jiang Wanyi didn’t give the piece of fat on her plate to Chen Yuan. "Eating too much can easily lead to cardiovascular disease."
"It’s fine. I’m still young."
Chen Yuan used his chopsticks to snatch the chunk of fat from her plate.
She gave Chen Yuan a helpless look, but on second thought, she realized her worrying was a bit excessive.
He was only eighteen, at the peak of his physical fitness. Besides, he exercised regularly, so it probably wouldn’t be a problem.
"You should still try to be careful. Eat less of it. You can’t just ignore your health because you’re young."
"Alrighty."
"But their food really is delicious."
"I wouldn’t have brought you here if it wasn’t, right?"
"Mili is nine months old now. If we wait another eight or ten years, she’ll be able to eat here with you."
"That’s a real possibility," Chen Yuan said with a smile. "By then, I’ll be the one reminding her not to eat the fat."
"I doubt it. You’ll be 28 at most. You probably won’t be aware of these kinds of health issues yet."
’You live and learn. People only become conscious of their health after they’ve gone through something. When Chen Yuan is 28, he’ll still be full of vigor. It’s unlikely he’ll pay attention to this kind of thing.’
"Once a man passes 25, he’s basically 60. You have to accept you’re getting old."
’Past 25 is basically 60?’
Jiang Wanyi furrowed her brow slightly. It took her a few seconds to realize what he meant—he wasn’t just talking about general health.
"HONK HONK HONK... What kind of twisted logic is that? But working out is definitely good for you. Since you enjoy it, you should be fine as long as you keep it up."
"See? See?" Chen Yuan said. "You say my logic is twisted, but then you tell me to keep exercising."
Jiang Wanyi, noticing the double meaning in her own words, gently kicked Chen Yuan under the table. "Just eat your food."
She finished one skewer and picked up a beef one. Same old routine—all the fatty pieces went to Chen Yuan.
