Chapter 160: Chapter 95: Chen Yuan and Mili’s Relationship

The next morning, Chen Yuan got up bright and early because he had class.

When he came out, breakfast was already made.

Milk, noodles, a fried egg, and the leftover braised duck from last night.

It tasted even better heated up.

"From now on, don’t bother making me breakfast on Monday mornings. I can just eat when I get back."

"Food from outside is never as good as home-cooked. It’s no trouble for me, but I have to be quiet so I don’t wake the child. So this simple breakfast will have to do."

"I can make do with the noodles, but I’ll have to properly savor this milk."

"You brat, you’re getting cheekier by the day," Jiang Wanyi said with a laugh.

"You go ahead and eat. I’m going to go stay with the child."

"Mm."

Jiang Wanyi went to the spare bedroom. Chen Yuan sat down to eat and, in a flash, wolfed down the large bowl of noodles.

He crept to the door of the spare bedroom and opened it a crack. The child was sound asleep, showing no signs of waking.

Jiang Wanyi was lying on her side next to the child, the curve of her body like a rolling mountain range.

Chen Yuan mouthed, "I’m leaving now."

"Mm, be careful on your way."

"Got it."

Back at school, his timing was perfect. He sat in the front row, as usual.

Students began to trickle into the classroom. When he saw Zheng Wenkai walk in, Chen Yuan said:

"Class President, we have another vocabulary quiz today. Why don’t you come over here and get humiliated?"

"You and Bai Yueran must have some shady deal going on. Be careful, or her husband will come after you."

Once he saw that most of the class had arrived, Zheng Wenkai stood at the podium and unfurled the award certificate in his hands.

"Everyone, quiet down for a moment. I have an announcement to make. In the university’s debate competition, our class won the department championship! The participants were Li Songtao, Cao Helin, Du Lei, and Wang Wei. Let’s give them a round of applause!"

Winning first place in the department was a huge accomplishment, so everyone clapped enthusiastically. After all, it was an honor for their class.

After making the announcement, Zheng Wenkai sat in the back row. Even though there was an empty seat up front, he didn’t dare to take it. His spirit had clearly been crushed by Bai Yueran’s casual takedowns, and he didn’t dare take another step forward.

CLACK CLACK CLACK—

The sound of high heels grew clearer, as if an empress were striding through the void itself. Lotuses bloomed with each step, and in the blink of an eye, she appeared at the classroom door.

Jeans?!

’It’s one thing for the weather to get colder—you could have worn thick, black stockings! But what’s the big idea, showing up in jeans?’

’I’m done studying!’

Chen Yuan was a man of his word. He really didn’t pay attention in class, using all his energy to memorize vocabulary instead.

Thanks to his improved concentration, time seemed to fly by for Chen Yuan.

He felt like he’d barely memorized any words before it was time for the "relationship history" part of the class.

During the final quiz, Chen Yuan’s perfect score also earned him praise from Bai Yueran.

However, no one was surprised. They all just assumed he cheated.

After all, Bai Yueran couldn’t be bothered to even look at them; she left it all up to their own conscience.

When English class ended, Chen Yuan slipped to the back row and sat down with his "three sons."

"Boss, how did you manage to cheat right under Bai Yueran’s nose and get all 100 words right?" Sun Pengnan asked.

"Is it impossible that I actually memorized them?"

"Yeah, right! Those are high-frequency words for the CET-4. Even with my 128 IQ, I couldn’t do it, so there’s no way you could."

"Hmm?"

Liu Shiyu and Sheng Kangming also turned to look at him, and Chen Yuan asked:

"How do you know your IQ is 128?"

"I paid 30 yuan for a test on TikTok."

"What a bargain. Thirty yuan to find out you’re an idiot."

"Fuck."

"No wonder you can’t find a girlfriend even after your circumcision. Girls are probably afraid your IQ will be passed down to the next generation," Liu Shiyu roasted him mercilessly.

"That’s where you’re wrong. I met a new girl recently, and we’re hitting it off."

"What’s her major?"

"Computer Science. Zhang Mengmeng."

"Her?" Sheng Kangming chimed in. "I know her. She’s decent-looking, but I think she’s already taken."

"Holy shit, sounds like she’s just stringing guys along," Liu Shiyu said.

"For real? Don’t mess with me. We’ve really been hitting it off the last few days." Sun Pengnan was clearly in denial.

"I’m pretty sure she does. I saw her at Joy City just yesterday with some guy. They were talking and laughing," Sheng Kangming said.

"Then forget it. Time to cut my losses. Good thing I only bought her a cup of bubble tea, so I’m not out much money," Sun Pengnan said.

"What’s there to be afraid of? She has a boyfriend, she’s not a nun. If you want to pursue her, go for it. At the very least, you should get your bubble tea money’s worth," Chen Yuan said.

"Nah, forget it. Two-timers aren’t my type. Besides, her figure is just so-so. I bet Old Four’s chest is bigger than hers."

"You motherfucker, did you buy a cleave item? I’m over here being nice and giving you intel, and you’re hitting me with splash damage, is that it?"

"I was just making a comparison." Sun Pengnan looked at Chen Yuan. "Boss, what do you think? Should I give up?"

"If her figure is really like that, then yeah, give up. With that 128 IQ of yours, you’re no match for her."

"Is a good figure that important? You sound like such a poser," Sheng Kangming said.

"You don’t get it. A girl with a great figure can seduce a man with her body alone. But a girl with a ’thumbtack’ figure like Zhang Mengmeng has to rely purely on her wits. Old Three here pays for IQ tests on TikTok; how could he possibly outplay a girl like that?"

The three of them went back and forth, and just like that, Sun Pengnan’s budding romance was nipped in the bud.

Soon, the advanced math teacher arrived, and the second class of the morning officially began.

Chen Yuan tried to pay attention, and his improved concentration really did make a noticeable difference.

This time, he managed to focus for a full twenty-plus minutes before his mind started to wander.

Chen Yuan was brimming with confidence. He probably wouldn’t fail his finals now. And if he got lucky and put in the effort, he might even manage to pass the CET-4.

He had lunch with Song Jianye, then went back to his dorm to edit photos.
