I Inherited 5,000 Years of Family Property
Chapter 2278: Even in Death, Still a Wage Slave Ghost
“They actually managed to get away!” The young man’s face showed a rather unwilling expression.
“Hey brother, don’t be upset. They’ve already run off, and we have no idea where they’ve gone.” Zhang Menglong waved his hand at the young man, “Come down and rest for a bit!”
The young man knew that it was impossible to catch up now, and even if he did, he might not be a match for the black-robed figure; its strength was likely above his own.
“Are you the one who posted the warning on the Universal Information Network?” The young man looked at Zhang Menglong and asked.
“Yes, my name is Zhang Menglong. How should I address you, brother?”
“Qin Tong.” The young man extended his hand to Zhang Menglong, appearing relatively friendly.
“Brother Qin is not from this Loulan Holy State, is he?”
“That’s correct. I received a direct order from my teacher to stop that Warcraft, and I also want to invite Brother Zhang to come with me. My teacher wants to know more about the Ancient Humans.”
Qin Tong didn’t show any disdain toward Zhang Menglong due to his strength not being at the Dominator level. He could even sense the terrifying power contained within Zhang Menglong’s body.
“But I noticed that even if I hadn’t come, Brother Zhang would have found a way to eliminate that Warcraft, right?”
Zhang Menglong smiled ambiguously. He indeed planned to act, but only if the Warcraft caused enough destruction to the city to attract the attention of the major powers, otherwise, they wouldn’t take action at all.
“May I ask, what kind of person is Brother Qin’s teacher? You can’t just lead me away without telling me where we are going, can you?” Zhang Menglong said with a smile.
“Theological Academy!” Qin Tong uttered the four words.
Zhang Menglong was taken aback. The Theological Academy was the largest academy on the continent, and it’s said that many senior students have Dominator-level strength. No wonder this young man looks young but is so powerful; it’s likely that the “teacher” he mentioned has some standing in the Theological Academy as well.
For Zhang Menglong, this was good news. Being recognized by such a powerful institution means that his information dissemination and livestreaming efforts were very effective.
“Well, let’s go then!”
“Brother Zhang, aren’t you afraid that I’ll sell you out?” Qin Tong joked.
Zhang Menglong was willing to follow just at the mention of the Theological Academy, showing that he had quite remarkable courage.
“In this world, there isn’t anyone who can sell me out.” Zhang Menglong’s confidence stemmed from his own strength and the foundation of the Super God Academy.
“Brother Zhang is indeed no ordinary person,” Qin Tong said, “My teacher is a branch dean at the Theological Academy, and I’m the youngest among his direct disciples. He knows a bit about Ancient Humans and Ancient Gods, but he has many questions that require Brother Zhang’s answers, so he sent me to invite you.”
“I see,” Zhang Menglong realized that he might have underestimated the top forces on this continent. Their heritage is rich, and strong people emerge continuously. It’s likely that many people have witnessed the Ancient Humans, so over the years, they must have gathered some intelligence.
While they may not have much info on Ancient Gods due to lack of contact, they definitely possess some knowledge. His actions must have drawn attention from those in the know, and his efforts mostly served to inform ordinary people about these matters.
“Brother Zhang, hold onto me,” Qin Tong opened a scroll, it seemed like a space-teleportation type treasure, and with a powerful pulling force, Zhang Menglong found himself in another location.
As he saw the Theological Academy before him, Zhang Menglong couldn’t help but widen his eyes.
This castle full of a classical aura was built entirely within a gigantic forest, where songs continually sounded. These songs seemed to come from some life forms in the forest and even had the effect of calming one’s mind.
“This is the Theological Academy,” Qin Tong explained, “Currently, the Theological Academy has one dean, four branch campuses, about 240,000 students, and each campus is divided into six grade levels. First-year students are generally gifted talents, but are still growing, with strength mostly at the Beginner level; second-year students are at the Transcender level, and third-year students are Realm Breakers.”
“So, fourth-year and above students are Dominators?”
Qin Tong nodded, “In our academy, students in fourth year and above make up about 40% of the total.”
“That’s nearly 100,000 people!” Zhang Menglong exclaimed.
The entire Loulan Holy State only has a little over 20 Dominators, but here at the Theological Academy, there are about 100,000 Dominators!
This is like pouring a piss and soaking a bunch of Dominators.
“And what about Brother Qin?”
“I’m different. A branch dean typically has thirty or so direct disciples, and we do not differentiate by grade level — we just focus on learning from the teacher wholeheartedly. Our senior brother already has the strength of a Dominator Peak.”
“Your academy is very powerful,” Zhang Menglong murmured to himself.
Dominator Peak; this is nearly the evolutionary limit of an Ultimate Life Form. It made Zhang Menglong wonder about the level of his own seniors at home and how they compare against the dean and branch deans of the Theological Academy.
“Let’s go, I’ll first take you to meet my teacher!”
Around the academy, there was also a powerful restriction; however, there appeared to be some face-recognition-like mechanism, and after Qin Tong paused in front of the restriction for a few seconds, a passage just wide enough for one person appeared.
“The power of this restriction is formidable; even a Dominator Peak couldn’t break it,” Qin Tong said.
“Even Dominator Peak can’t?” Zhang Menglong was surprised; this was practically the end of life’s evolution. It’s likely even Zhang Menglong would find it difficult to set such a restriction.”
“In our academy, there’s a place called the Heroic Spirit Tomb,” Qin Tong explained, “Every academy member who falls is buried here, and their souls are preserved, continuing to exist in another form here. When our students are attacked by external forces, these souls form strong energy to protect the academy!”
“Goodness, working as a wage slave while alive and as a ghost slave after death, isn’t that too miserable?” Zhang Menglong shook his head.
But he could indeed imagine the formidable defensive power, as the number of the deceased far exceeds those still alive in this world!
When they protect the academy in some form, this protective power must be incredibly strong — no doubt.
“Senior brother!”
“Senior Qin!”
As they passed through the school, many students respectfully greeted Qin Tong, showing that as a direct disciple of a branch dean, he held a very high status.
Moreover, just as Qin Tong said, in this school, Dominator-level figures could be seen almost everywhere, whereas finding a Transcender-level person was not so easy.
The two arrived at a lake next to a academy building, where a rather elegant structure stood at the center of it. “Come in, Brother Zhang. My teacher is waiting for you over there, I should not intrude further,” Qin Tong said.
“Young friend Zhang, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time, come in and have a seat!”
