I Inherited 5,000 Years of Family Property

Chapter 2221 - 2214: This Turd Is Yours Too

Zhang Menglong couldn’t tell how long he had been in the spaceship. He only remembered finishing six new palace intrigue dramas, watching the League of Legends final where S318 got brutally crushed by a bunch of stick wielders, and then watching Three-Body three times and Bright Sword twice more before the spaceship finally came to a slow halt.

"I thought it didn’t take that long for those guys from the Holy Soul Alliance to come here. Why does going home take so long?" Zhang Menglong muttered to himself.

[Maybe it’s because the process for outsiders returning to the Moyan Family is more stringent, so it took longer to return to the family.]

"Makes sense," Zhang Menglong quietly waited for the Moyan Family people to take him out. About twenty minutes later, Teng Ao finally arrived with people to the area where Zhang Menglong was held.

They didn’t turn off the electromagnetic field but instead moved Zhang Menglong along with the area enclosed by the electromagnetic field, as if the moment they turned it off, Zhang Menglong would go berserk.

"You guys don’t have to do this," Zhang Menglong said casually as he lounged on the sofa, "Look at you all wasting energy. I have hands and feet, it’s not like I can’t walk. You greet me with such grand ceremony, I feel embarrassed!"

The members of the Moyan Family almost turned a deaf ear to Zhang Menglong’s endless chatter. They had only one order, which was to take Zhang Menglong to the most secretive tribunal within the family, where all the family leaders were waiting for him.

After stepping out of the spaceship, Zhang Menglong’s eyes widened. The place was simply dreamlike, enclosed by a giant semi-transparent dome, through which the external world could be seen, as if separated by a thin membrane.

In the Moyan Family’s space, there weren’t those towering skyscrapers.

After another long journey, Zhang Menglong arrived at a massive building, seemingly a gargantuan tribunal hall, surrounded by members of the Moyan Family. The seating arrangement clearly distinguished their hierarchical differences.

At the moment, the seats were almost fully occupied, with everyone staring at the direction Zhang Menglong was coming from, their gaze akin to watching a zoo animal.

"So lively?" Zhang Menglong hadn’t expected so many people to attend his "trial," and he even stood up and waved to the crowd.

"Thank you all, thank you!"

All the Moyan Family members looked at Zhang Menglong bewilderedly. His manner seemed more like he was at a concert than facing a trial. Didn’t he realize his current status as a prisoner? They had never seen a prisoner act like a triumphant warrior before.

Zhang Menglong was placed at the center of the entire building, and now he resembled a cosmic slave presented on an auction platform at a universal auction.

It seemed some quite significant figures hadn’t arrived yet. After Zhang Menglong was placed in the center, no one paid attention to him.

Zhang Menglong simply continued with what he was doing, as if selectively ignoring the thousands present. In that moment, they felt like the clowns instead.

After about an hour, the entire venue was finally fully occupied, and at the forefront, a group appeared, wearing clothes emblazoned with the same emblem as Qian Xu, suggesting a similar standing within the Moyan Family.

Sitting at the central seat was an elder with white hair, but Zhang Menglong could tell he was the most powerful person in the room, even at the peak of a Realm Breaker, stronger than Qian Xu! If he guessed right, this must be the current Clan Leader of the Moyan Family, Qian Xu’s father.

"Mr. Zhang Menglong, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Bai Si·Moyan, the current Clan Leader of the Moyan Family. I apologize for inviting you to the Moyan Family in this manner."

"Invite?" Zhang Menglong retorted disdainfully with his legs crossed, "You call this an invitation? Is this how the Moyan Family treats their guests?"

"Insolent! You’re just a minor transcender, yet you dare speak to the Clan Leader like this?" Before Bai Si could speak, a young woman beside him spoke first. She seemed to be of quite a significant standing within the Moyan Family, at least of direct lineage.

"How else should I speak?" Zhang Menglong sneered, "Should I offer three sticks of incense, thanking you for nearly kidnapping me into your family? I’m not an idiot!"

"And now, when I’m conversing with your Clan Leader, what are you, a junior, interjecting for? Didn’t your parents teach you about respecting ranks?"

"You..." The woman’s eyes widened at Zhang Menglong, not expecting a prisoner to speak to her in such a spirited manner.

"Silence!" Bai Si sternly halted the woman about to continue speaking, "Haven’t you embarrassed us enough?"

The woman, her face flushed crimson, dared not defy the Clan Leader’s order, choosing wisely to keep silent, but her eyes still bore resentment towards Zhang Menglong.

"Mr. Zhang, we understand your animosity," Bai Si said, "But this matter involves the ancestors of the Moyan Family and my son, the next Clan Leader. We must proceed cautiously."

"Cautious my ass," Zhang Menglong immediately lashed out, "I kindly retrieved your family’s ancestor’s remains for your son. You don’t appreciate it, and instead, you suspect me of being the culprit in your son’s misfortune. Just think with your brain, if I really killed your son, why would I contact the Moyan Family? Am I or are you the ones insane?"

Zhang Menglong’s barrage of high-mom-quotient exclamations threw the entire Moyan Family into silence, a deafening uproar indeed!

Even Bai Si, an old monster who must have weathered countless storms, seemed slightly flushed, momentarily unsure how to retort.

"Mr. Zhang, as we’ve said, if there is any misunderstanding on our part, after clarifying the facts, our Moyan Family will sincerely apologize to you. But we hope you will cooperate with our investigation first."

"Fine, go ahead, I’ll cooperate." Zhang Menglong was curious to see what they intended to investigate.

"Would Mr. Zhang kindly take out our ancestor’s remains for us to verify?"

Zhang Menglong didn’t say a word, simply swung his hand, laying the remains out before him.

"Indeed, this crest; it surely belongs to our ancestor!"

"Our ancestral remains have been found! The Moyan Family is saved!"

Seeing the remains, some people were moved to tears, especially those observing the several rings on the fingers, which might contain their Moyan Family’s lost inheritance, a matter of grave importance to them.

"Mr. Zhang, are all our ancestor’s relics present?" asked a middle-aged Moyan Family member.

"What do you mean?" Zhang Menglong’s face darkened immediately. Were they suggesting he took something from the Moyan Family ancestor’s body?

"Mr. Zhang, we weren’t present when you recovered the remains, so we indeed do not know what items might have originally been on the ancestor. Perhaps you accidentally left something on yourself." The middle-aged man’s words sounded very tactful, but his meaning was clear.

"Oh, I’m terribly sorry, I did forget something." Zhang Menglong rummaged himself, retrieving a pitch-black thing and tossing it to the floor—a fresh turd from the Archangel Academy’s Howling Celestial Dog.

"If I’m not mistaken, this pile of shit should be something your family left behind too."
