I Inherited 5,000 Years of Family Property
Chapter 2147 - 2140: Legends of the Ancestors
"The King Who Stands Shoulder-to-Shoulder is interested in these things?" Princess Shadeer showed a rather curious expression.
"Yeah," Zhang Menglong nodded. "Princess, you also know I was born a slave, I’ve never seen much of the world, so what interests me most are all kinds of strange stories and anecdotes."
"The King Who Stands Shoulder-to-Shoulder must be joking. My royal father has already said you’re definitely not some slave—you descended from the sky onto the battlefield."
Zhang Menglong was a bit stunned, then couldn’t help but laugh. Back on the battlefield everyone’s nerves were taut as bowstrings, who had the energy or time to investigate Zhang Menglong’s true identity and background? As long as they could confirm he was standing on the side of the Mansha Kingdom, that was enough.
Now that the war was over and the internal chaos had calmed, everyone naturally had time to investigate him. Just by pulling the battlefield recordings from back then, they could roughly deduce that Zhang Menglong was absolutely not some slave; the whole thing had just been a big misunderstanding.
Besides, the Slave Camp’s members were all on a roster, and they couldn’t find a single bit of information about Zhang Menglong. His identity in the Mansha Empire was completely off the books.
"To be honest," Zhang Menglong said with a smile, "I actually just came to this world. I came here from some relatively low-level worlds."
"I knew it!" This situation wasn’t far off from what Shadeer had guessed. "I’ve long known that in this Vast Thousand Worlds, we’re not the only world. Countless worlds form a single grand blueprint. Sometimes, in worlds of relatively lower quality, some extraordinary beings are born who then advance into this world."
"And in most cases, once those people arrive in this world, they’re already Transcenders."
"The Princess knows about the worlds below?" Zhang Menglong had searched for a lot of information but hadn’t found anything about that battlefield.
"I know a little," the Princess said. "Although there are countless worlds, if one wants to enter our current world, one must first pass through an Ancient Divine Realm!"
"Ancient Divine Realm?" Zhang Menglong repeated this rather unfamiliar term. Was that the real name of that battlefield?
"It’s a very mysterious place," the Princess said. "Even the top-tier powerhouses of this world can’t enter it, and can’t even exert much influence on it. Only those who move from low-level worlds to high-grade worlds can come to the Ancient God Battlefield."
"King Who Stands Shoulder-to-Shoulder, do you know about Supreme Crystals?"
"Of course I do." Zhang Menglong nodded.
"These things are extremely rare in this world. The appearance of any single piece can trigger a scramble and even a bloody storm. But based on the information brought back by people who came here from the Ancient Divine Realm, over there things are relatively easier."
"Mm, it does seem that way now," Zhang Menglong nodded. Just from him taking out one Supreme Crystal and scaring everyone so much they practically jumped out of their skins, you could tell just how precious this thing really was.
"Is the King Who Stands Shoulder-to-Shoulder trying to learn information about those powerful figures who entered our world from the Ancient Divine Realm?" Shadeer asked.
"The Princess is sharp. That’s exactly what I want to know."
"Let me think," the Princess said. "In the last few thousand years, there have indeed been some people whose fame soared, and they’re basically concentrated in the most recent thousand years. Strangely enough, the way these people act is very similar, and legend says even their appearances are quite alike, as if they all came from the same place."
"Princess, tell me about them?" From Shadeer’s description, Zhang Menglong could basically be sure that the people she was talking about should be his own elders back home.
"Around four thousand years ago, someone came out of the Ancient Divine Realm," Shadeer said. "The King Who Stands Shoulder-to-Shoulder should understand that under normal circumstances, when someone arrives in a strange world, a normal person will keep a low profile at first—try to understand the world, gather some intel, then figure out how to gain a foothold. Generally they won’t go around stirring up trouble."
"From the sound of it, the person the Princess is talking about must have kicked up quite a storm in this world?"
"More than just a storm—he practically turned an entire region upside down," Shadeer said. "When he came out of the Ancient Divine Realm his realm was only that of a First Grade Transcender, but his true strength could rival an Eighth Grade Transcender. Rumor has it his Soul Rank was so terrifyingly high it might have reached god-tier."
"That’s insane." Zhang Menglong was utterly shocked, because according to his understanding, above ninth rank is Divine Grade. After absorbing so many Supreme Crystals he was only eighth rank. How the hell did that ancestor have a Divine Grade soul?
"What does ’insane’ mean?"
"Girls really shouldn’t learn that kind of crude word," Zhang Menglong said. "And then?"
"What happened next was extremely bizarre," the Princess continued. "Like you, he descended from the sky, but he was rather unlucky... well, not exactly unlucky. He landed directly in the ancestral temple of a powerful kingdom and blew their ancestors’ coffins and memorial tablets to pieces."
"That kingdom must’ve exploded, right?"
"Of course. A whole bunch of Transcenders immediately appeared and completely surrounded him, and there were more than a dozen Transcenders of the seventh and eighth grades among them. Even the Qinglan Kingdom doesn’t have Transcenders that strong."
"I’m guessing those people couldn’t hold him back at all," Zhang Menglong said.
He had an eighth-rank soul and Solitude could already handle ordinary Eighth Grade Transcenders; swap in an ancestor with a Divine Grade soul and wouldn’t he just slaughter them like chickens?
"Not only could they not stop him, they were utterly helpless before him!" Shadeer said, with a hint of admiration. "And he actually showed plenty of sincerity at first, taking out several hundred Supreme Crystals as compensation. That many Supreme Crystals would make even a kingdom like that green with envy!"
"But they wanted the Supreme Crystals and also wanted to kill him, which directly enraged that senior. That senior even showed mercy, leaving those hundreds of Supreme Crystals behind and not killing a single person, just injuring a few, and then easily broke out of the encirclement."
"This matter didn’t end there, did it?"
"Of course not. If it had just fizzled out, things wouldn’t have escalated," Shadeer said. "Seeing that they had no way to handle this, that kingdom happened to have a Prince cultivating in an academy. That academy was hundreds of times stronger than the kingdom itself, and even had an Elder above the Transcender level sitting in town!"
"Oh?" Zhang Menglong also knew that the strength of a Transcender was actually equivalent to an ordinary Level One to Level Three Ultimate Life Form. Above that were two more great realms, but those two realms were so vague and distant that forces on the level of kingdoms had no way to understand them.
"That Prince brought several senior fellow students from the academy to confront that senior. The senior flew into a rage and killed three of them; the rest were gravely injured. Those students were extremely protective of their own, so they lost control and things got worse and worse. The academy directly dispatched an Elder above the Transcender level to demand an explanation."
"And then, and then?"
"That senior didn’t win, but he did escape from that Elder’s hands and disappeared for three years."
"He came back for revenge and wiped out the academy?"
The Princess shook her head. "He killed the academy’s headmaster, then took the position himself, and even renamed the academy Hogwarts, specializing in teaching a type of Transcendence Technique called Magic!"
