I Inherited 5,000 Years of Family Property
Chapter 2143 - 2136: Want to Learn? I’ll Teach You
"Hahaha!" Hearing this news, the Emperor of the Mansha Kingdom couldn’t help laughing out loud. "Chaimet, looks like even heaven itself is helping me."
"How could something like this happen?" Of course Chaimet didn’t believe this was some natural disaster. He had never heard of any rain that could make an entire crowd of Beginners all fall poisoned in just a few hours. This was obviously someone’s handiwork!
But he clearly already controlled more than ninety percent of the Mansha Empire’s military power. Right now only Xiwat was still holding the line at the front. With just one unit under his command, how could he possibly pull this off?
Yet aside from him, who else would even have the motive to do such a thing? He was almost certain that the Generals under him were loyal to the core, absolutely impossible for them to betray him. All the Radical Generals were also under his control, with no ability at all to do something like this.
"What’s the casualty report? How many people are poisoned?" Chaimet asked.
"All... all of them..."
"What did you say? All of them?" Chaimet’s expression changed drastically. A single rainfall had actually knocked out his entire force of one billion Beginner troops. What kind of Magic Power did this rain have?
"Everyone below Transcender level has been severely affected by the toxin," that General said. "Those who are stronger feel completely powerless, those weaker have directly fallen into a coma. It’s not just the soldiers—ordinary civilians are the same."
As he said this, Chaimet actually felt his own head turning a bit groggy. His Life Levels were only at Beginner, while the armor on the General’s body had been splashed by rain. As that rainwater began to evaporate, the whole room gradually filled up with this poisonous gas.
"State Preceptor, put this on. This toxin can enter the body not only through breathing—it can even seep through the pores via vapor in the air." The General handed him a compact nano protective suit.
"You put one on too." Chaimet activated his own nano protective suit while tossing the other suit over to the Emperor.
"Is the toxin that strong? Where are the army’s healers? What the hell are they good for?" Military power was Chaimet’s greatest source of confidence. Now that those soldiers had lost all combat capability, it was like cutting off his left arm and right arm.
"The toxin isn’t strong, it doesn’t even really count as deadly. It just makes people lose the ability to move. The enemy’s intent is very obvious: they just want to paralyze our army," the General said. "The Pharmacists have already tried everything. That toxin isn’t high in intensity, but it’s extremely stubborn. Unless it’s the poisoner themselves, it’s very hard to remove."
"Who the hell is it?" Chaimet’s tone clearly showed he was close to losing it.
"Hahahaha, Chaimet, you miscalculated, didn’t you?" The Emperor laughed as he taunted him. "The foundation of my Royal Family runs deep. How could it be easily shaken by a wolf-hearted schemer like you? Even if my Royal Family is imprisoned here, there will still be countless people racking their brains to fulfill their duty."
Even though the Emperor himself didn’t know who did it, the fact that the other side neither wanted to harm his people and soldiers, nor wanted them to have combat strength, made their stance very clear.
"Hmph!" Chaimet snorted coldly. "Your Majesty the Emperor, there’s no need for you to be too pleased with yourself. Since the enemy’s resorting to such methods, their strength can’t be all that great. Even if ordinary soldiers are down, we still have dozens of Transcenders."
"General Kartel, call everyone here, if you would. I believe our opponent is already nearby."
"Understood." That General nodded and stepped out of the room.
Very quickly, several auras of Transcenders appeared around the room.
"I don’t know which illustrious guest has honored us with their presence; please show yourself," Chaimet, in his nano protective suit, walked to the doorway. "I think there’s a lot we can discuss. Whatever the Emperor can give you, I, Chaimet, can give as well!"
"I want to take your head and sell it as a soccer ball in the department store. How about that?" A voice sounded faintly behind him.
"Who!?" Chaimet whipped around. At some point, a black-haired youth had appeared in the room.
The youth casually picked up a document from the table and glanced at it. "Tsk tsk tsk, an Emperor really is an Emperor. Even his handwriting is different. When I was in school, the teacher always said my writing looked like a crab crawling."
"Hahaha, with calligraphy, the first thing is that your heart must be as calm as still water. Once you quiet your mind, your writing naturally gets better." Faced with the sudden appearance of the young man, the Emperor not only showed no panic at all, he even appeared remarkably composed.
"This Emperor’s got some backbone." Just from the way he handled a sudden incident like this, the Emperor made Zhang Menglong see him in a new light.
"Who are you? How did you get in here?" Chaimet eyed Zhang Menglong warily. To enter this room under the tight protection of so many Transcenders—such ability could only be called ghostlike and unfathomable!
"Nonsense! If you’re going to roam the world righting wrongs, and you can’t even get through the door, what’s the point?" Zhang Menglong said. "Your Majesty the Emperor, sorry I’m late to your rescue and let you be frightened."
"You’re one of Xiwat’s soldiers?" the Emperor asked. "I don’t recall ever seeing you."
Zhang Menglong nodded. "I’m the sixth Deputy General newly appointed by General Xiwat. I came out of the Slave Camp, so naturally you’ve never seen me before."
"A slave?" The Emperor was taken aback. He had originally assumed Zhang Menglong was an ace up Xiwat’s sleeve, secretly cultivated for a critical moment. It never occurred to him that he was slave-born.
"What a joke, a mere slave dares to be insolent here." Chaimet let out a cold laugh. "Generals, seize this brat who doesn’t know the height of the heavens or the depth of the earth!"
...
"Father, Master is in danger!" In the distance, Karon and Xiwat were watching what was happening here.
"Relax, your Master won’t be in any danger," Xiwat said with a smile.
Just moments ago, Zhang Menglong had still been beside them. In the blink of an eye, with just one lapse of their attention, Zhang Menglong had already rushed into the room. Even Xiwat hadn’t sensed that speed at all.
Xiwat was a famed second-level Transcender. Even facing a third-level Transcender, it still shouldn’t be to the point where he couldn’t perceive their movement trajectory. From this alone, it was clear Zhang Menglong had hidden far too much of his strength.
Perhaps even if you lumped together all the Transcenders in the entire Mansha Kingdom, they still might not be able to do anything to him.
"Take me down, is it?" To Zhang Menglong, this sounded like a particularly funny joke. "Your Majesty the Emperor, stay right behind me and don’t fall behind. I’ll get you out!"
"Alright!" Though it was his first time meeting Zhang Menglong, the Emperor nonetheless felt a strange, inexplicable trust in him.
"Arrogant brat!" Two Generals’ Deputy Generals suddenly burst forth, flashing in front of Zhang Menglong like lightning. They raised their fists—but in that instant, it was as if the two of them had rammed headfirst into an invisible wall, then bounced away.
The two Deputy Generals skidded along the ground for dozens of meters and slammed hard into a wall.
They staggered as they climbed back up, their faces already battered beyond recognition—basically even their own mothers wouldn’t recognize them.
"Such fast fists and kicks!" One General was shocked inwardly. They looked as if they’d run into a wall, but in that split second, their faces had actually taken at least several hundred punches and seven or eighty kicks.
"What kind of technique is that?"
"The ’Face-Remodeling Kick.’ Want to learn it? I’ll teach you!"
