Chapter 406: This Chapter Is Not for Asking for Votes

I heard about the Qidian author, Ten Years of Snowfall, a few days ago, but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to say anything about it until now.

I didn’t know him personally, but as a fellow writer, hearing the news of his sudden death filled me with an indescribable sense of loss. It was like getting a glimpse of my own future.

The world of web novel authors has become toxic. The only way to attract readers is to pump out Chapters at a breakneck pace, to just keep churning out words. It’s a competition to see who can write more. If you write 10,000 words, I have to write 15,000. If you write 15,000, I have to write 20,000...

Writing isn’t just about typing. It requires brainstorming, refining ideas, and carefully considering every detail. To write 10,000 words a day, you need to spend at least eight hours in front of the computer. For 15,000 words, it’s more than twelve hours. For 20,000 words, it’s a minimum of fifteen hours. (And I’m talking about fast writers. Slower ones couldn’t write 20,000 words even if they had 24 hours a day).

There are only 24 hours in a day. If you spend 15 of them in front of a computer, there’s no time for any hobbies outside of eating, drinking, sleeping, and using the bathroom. It’s a wonder our bodies can take it at all!

The authors who are struggling to write and grind for a "full attendance" bonus of just a few hundred yuan usually don’t come from well-off families. We destroy our health, but readers still don’t subscribe, and our books flop. This just leads many authors into a downward spiral, getting more and more miserable. (Ahem, I’m one of them...)

The sudden death of Ten Years of Snowfall has left me with a profound sense of sorrow. I truly don’t know how much longer I can last.

I’m writing this special Chapter for my fellow author, Ten Years of Snowfall. For those of you who are able, please go subscribe to his book, *Martial Dominion*. He has a younger sister still in school and his family is in a very difficult financial situation. If you can help, please do.

His book’s performance wasn’t particularly great. Perhaps his greatest wish in life was for it to do better and better, for more readers to follow his work. Now that he’s passed on, if he could see so many readers coming to subscribe and show their support, I’m sure he would feel some comfort.

....(To be continued. If you like this work, please come to Qidian.com to vote for it with recommendation tickets and monthly passes. Your support is my greatest motivation.)

If you find any errors (non-standard content, ads redirect, broken links, etc..), Please let us know so we can fix it as soon as possible.
