Chapter 56: Chapter 56: In Human Land

Krono sat crouched on the edge of the jagged ridge.

"We are not going to sneak through the shadows. That takes far too much effort. Garth, you are a massive siege beast. I want you to act exactly like one. Charge straight down this canyon path and completely obliterate their front gates. Make every single guard in this fortress focus entirely on you."

Garth grinned widely, revealing rows of sharp, jagged teeth.

"Oh, I love this plan, master. I am exceptionally good at breaking things."

"Nova, You ride on Garth. Keep the fortress archers off his back. Do not engage the Dragon Lord under any circumstances. He is exclusively my prey."

Nova nodded firmly. She trusted Krono absolutely.

Down in the illuminated courtyard, Lord Gedrion laughed boisterously. The gluttonous Dragon Lord was massive, easily standing over four meters tall even in his compressed humanoid form. Rolls of thick, scaled fat hung heavily over his extravagant silk robes. He held a terrified human peasant by the collar, drooling slightly as the golden runes of the teleportation circle pulsed with maximum energy.

"Prepare the cages!" Gedrion roared to his elite guards. "We feast in the Human Partition tonight!"

Suddenly, a deafening tremor shook the entire canyon.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

Before the courtyard guards could even draw their heavy weapons, a sixty-meter behemoth of moss and stone crashed violently through the reinforced steel gates of the fortress.

Garth roared triumphantly, swinging his massive tail and instantly launching a dozen elite draconian guards high into the night sky. Thick stone walls crumbled like wet paper under his heavy footfalls.

Nova stood tall on his back, her hands glowing with bright silver energy. She unleashed a rapid barrage of freezing ice spikes, pinning the scrambling archers to the guard towers before they could fire a single arrow.

"What is the meaning of this?" Lord Gedrion bellowed furiously, dropping his human captive onto the hard stone floor.

He glared at the chaotic scene unfolding at his ruined front gates.

He was so distracted by the massive beast invading his home that he completely failed to look up.

Krono plummeted from the canyon ridge like a falling meteorite. He did not bother using his wings. He simply let gravity accelerate his dense body to terrifying speeds.

Crash!

Krono slammed feet-first directly into the center of the glowing teleportation array. The impact was catastrophic. A massive shockwave rippled outward, shattering the reinforced stone tiles and violently throwing Gedrion’s elite bodyguards off their feet.

More importantly, the impact completely shattered the delicate, glowing golden runes carved into the floor. The immense spatial energy powering the gateway let out a high-pitched whine before violently fizzling out. The portal was completely dead.

The dust slowly cleared, revealing a pale young man in a dark coat standing casually in the center of the ruined magical array.

Lord Gedrion stared at his shattered, priceless teleportation circle in absolute shock.

"You miserable little human insect. Do you have any idea what you just destroyed? That portal took me 3 years and countless thousands of gold coins to properly construct! You have completely ruined my banquet!"

Krono brushed a small speck of dust off his shoulder and smiled maliciously.

"Your portal was just a convenient taxi. And I am not here to ruin your banquet, you obese lizard. I am here to be the main course."

Saying thay, he took a slow step forward, his eyes flashing with a terrifying supernova light.

"But honestly, looking at all that disgusting fat hanging off your bones, I am starting to wonder if eating you will completely ruin my cholesterol."

The surviving guards gasped in absolute horror.

Nobody ever insulted the Dragon Lord’s weight.

Gedrion let out a roar of absolute, world-shaking fury.

"ROARRRRRRRR!"

His humanoid body rapidly expanded, ripping his expensive silk robes into shreds as thick, crimson scales erupted from his expanding flesh. The gluttonous Dragon Lord was instantly blinded by maximum, uncontrollable rage.

"I will chew your bones into dust!"

Gedrion unleashed a blinding torrent of green dragon fire directly at the arrogant human. The flames burned so hot they instantly melted the surrounding stone courtyard into bubbling lava.

Krono did not even bother to dodge. He simply stood completely still, his dark coat billowing in the superheated winds.

A deeply mocking smile spread across his pale face.

He had never intended to fight the gluttonous Dragon Lord in this cramped, ruined courtyard. He had deliberately shattered the physical runes of the teleportation array to release its highly compressed spatial energy into the open air.

Krono raised his right hand. His Divine-Tier Spatial Ring reacted violently to the free floating spatial magic. The supreme artifact instantly absorbed the destination coordinates hidden within the dead runes.

"Thank you for the free toll," Krono laughed coldly.

With a flick of his wrist, a violently swirling blue rift tore open the fabric of reality directly behind him.

"Garth! Go In!" Krono commanded loudly over the roaring flames.

The massive Mountain Dragon did not hesitate. Garth completely ignored the scrambling courtyard guards and charged forward with terrifying momentum.

The behemoth leaped off the ground, tucking his thick legs tightly against his round belly, and dived headfirst into the glowing blue vortex. Nova clung tightly to his mossy scales as they vanished into the spatial tear.

Krono casually took one step backward, slipping effortlessly into the rift just a fraction of a second before Gedrion’s apocalyptic green fire completely engulfed the space where he had been standing.

The chaotic tunnel of spatial turbulence spat them out violently.

Garth crashed heavily into a soft, grassy hill, rolling several times before coming to a dizzying halt. Nova gasped for air, looking around in pure disbelief.

The toxic smog of the wasteland was completely gone. The sky above them was a brilliant, crystal clear azure blue. Lush, vibrant green forests stretched out for miles across rolling hills.

They had successfully bypassed the border restrictions and officially arrived in the Human Partition.

"We actually made it," Nova said feeling the pure and untainted mana in the air.

Krono landed smoothly on his feet nearby, his eyes scanning the new environment.

"Of course we made it. I told you I do not carry dead weight."

However, the swirling blue rift hanging in the air behind them did not immediately close.

Suddenly, two massive, crimson scaled claws reached out from the void, gripping the edges of the collapsing spatial tear. The rift shrieked and violently distorted as a colossal, incredibly fat figure forced his way through the unstable magic.

Lord Gedrion crashed into the pristine human territory, crushing a dozen large oak trees beneath his massive bulk. The gluttonous Dragon Lord was bleeding heavily from forcing his way through the spatial turbulence, but his yellow eyes burned with absolute, psychotic fury as he locked his gaze onto Krono.

"You cannot escape me!" Gedrion roared, his voice shaking the peaceful green valley.

Krono simply cracked his knuckles, "I never planned on escaping. I just wanted to eat you somewhere with a nicer view."
